Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 670: The Sea Of Despair’s Embodiment

Grey stared at the strange existence before him, completely baffled.

Behind him, the Mountain of Fate had already had its connection severed from the Sea of Despair. Yet, despite that, the being standing before him seemed to have emerged directly from that very power.

She appeared to be a young girl no older than twelve, with hair as black as the depths of the corrupted sea. Her eyes swirled with endless darkness, while her pale skin resembled moonlight reflected upon still water.

After a brief silence, the entity spoke in a voice that carried an ancient authority.

”I am the Embodiment of the Sea of Despair,” she declared. ”An existence born with a single purpose: to bring an end to all despair throughout the endless reality.”

Grey was left completely speechless by her introduction. He stared at her for a long moment before finally speaking.

”You’re just a baby.”

Hearing this, the Embodiment of the Sea of Despair immediately became irritated.

Her small face twisted with anger, and without any hesitation, she launched an attack.

”I possess the power of Despair!”

The instant she spoke, an overwhelming force erupted from her tiny body.

Grey’s expression changed slightly as he sensed the nature of that power.

State Power.

”What the fuck?”

Something about this felt deeply wrong.

How could an existence born from the Sea of Despair possess State Power? Even more strangely, the energy felt somewhat similar to his own Axiom Energy.

However, Grey had no time to dwell on the matter.

The Embodiment raised her hand toward the sky, and the entire world immediately began twisting around her.

Space folded in on itself like crumpled paper, while reality bent and warped in impossible directions. At the same time, an ocean of pure darkness poured out from the depths of existence itself.

From within that darkness, countless despair-like entities emerged, their forms shifting and writhing as they formed an army that flooded toward Grey like a tidal wave of nightmares.

”Die! You are only one man!” she screamed. ”You will eventually fall!”

Despite the overwhelming army approaching him, Grey remained completely calm.

He knew that his normal Nexus Continuum would not be enough for this battle. At its current limit, it could only push him to the Middle Stage of the 13th Rank.

However, as he watched the approaching army, he suddenly remembered something important.

Nexus Overclock.

A smile slowly appeared on Grey’s face.

Without hesitation, he activated it and pushed it to its current maximum.

5000%.

The moment the ability activated, luminous circuits began drilling through his entire body. The patterns spread across his skin like golden lightning frozen in place, while his entire existence erupted with overwhelming power.

His Nexus Energy surged far beyond its previous limits.

Then, in the next instant, Grey disappeared from where he stood.

BOOM!

His fist crashed directly into the Embodiment of the Sea of Despair.

Reality itself trembled from the impact as shockwaves spread through the fabric of existence, causing space to crack around them like shattered glass. Purple lightning arced from the point of impact, and the Embodiment was sent flying backward.

However, she recovered almost instantly and retaliated by bending reality around Grey.

Attacks came from impossible angles, striking from directions that shouldn’t even exist. Every movement she made carried the raw power of despair itself.

Yet Grey tore through the attacks one after another.

His fists blazed with Nexus Energy as he demolished each strike before it could reach him. Seeing this, the Embodiment summoned oceans of despair that rose from the ground like tsunamis of liquid darkness.

Grey responded by swinging his arm once.

The enormous waves were split apart, and the dark waters evaporated into nothing wherever his energy touched them.

Still unwilling to give up, the Embodiment bent space around him, attempting to trap Grey inside a prison of folded dimensions. However, Grey simply flooded the surrounding area with his own power, causing the spatial distortions to unravel and collapse.

When she twisted causality and distorted reality itself, making effects occur before their causes, Grey simply overturned the phenomenon and sent it back toward her.

Her own technique immediately rebounded, forcing her to dodge the very attack she had created.

As the battle continued, it became a clash between two completely different concepts.

The Embodiment possessed the overwhelming authority of Despair itself. Her power represented the end of all hope and the crushing weight of absolute negativity.

Grey, on the other hand, continuously broke through, reversed, and overpowered everything she threw at him.

Within seconds, they exchanged hundreds of blows.

Every collision created explosions that illuminated the crimson sky, while the ground beneath them had long since been destroyed, leaving nothing but floating debris.

Seeing that ordinary attacks were ineffective, the Embodiment summoned chains of solidified despair from every direction.

Grey immediately activated Divine Shattered Shock and punched through them.

The accumulated Divine Thunder spread through the chains, paralyzing the despair energy and causing the constructs to crumble into dust.

The Embodiment screamed in frustration before creating a domain of absolute darkness around them.

Within the domain, all light was extinguished, all hope was crushed, and every positive emotion was suppressed.

Yet Grey simply flared his Nexus Energy even brighter.

The golden and purple light tore through the darkness like a beacon of defiance.

Seeing this, the Embodiment became increasingly furious.

”Why won’t you fall?!”

As her frustration grew, she began speaking about despair itself, her voice carrying the weight of endless suffering.

”Despair will continue to exist as long as negativity exists throughout reality. Every failure, every loss, and every broken dream feeds the Sea of Despair.”

Her eyes burned with conviction as she continued.

”The only true way to stop despair is to erase everything. End the entire world so that nothing can suffer anymore.”

Grey listened silently.

Then, after a moment, the Embodiment looked directly at him and spoke words that made his expression freeze.

”This is why the Power of Perfection created me.”

Grey’s expression changed drastically.

”Perfection can only exist when there is no negativity,” she continued. ”I was born to eliminate all despair from existence. That is my purpose.”

Hearing this, Grey looked at himself before turning his gaze back toward her.

A strange realization slowly formed in his mind.

”Wait...”

Could this have been caused by him?

Could his power have leaked into the Sea of Despair, causing it to evolve and eventually give birth to an existence specifically designed to eliminate despair?

The possibility left Grey completely baffled.

”How the heck...?”

There was only one explanation that made sense.

His power had influenced the Sea of Despair.

After all, Grey’s power represented Perfection itself. The Nexus Energy flowing through him naturally sought to eliminate all imperfection from existence.

If even a trace of that power had entered the Sea of Despair, it could have catalyzed this transformation.

With this realization, Grey finally stopped suppressing his Nexus Axiom Energy.

The instant that terrifying energy became visible, the Embodiment’s expression changed drastically.

Luminous cubes of reality-warping power materialized around Grey, while the air itself began glitching and distorting under the sheer pressure.

”Y-You...”

The Embodiment’s body began glitching as well.

The world around her flickered like corrupted data as she stared at Grey with wide eyes.

For the first time, she truly understood what was standing before her.

She wasn’t facing another powerful existence.

She was standing before Perfection itself.

The very source of the power that had created her.

The Embodiment trembled as Grey calmly stared down at her.

Then, without giving her any chance to react, Grey moved.

In an instant, he appeared directly before her and drove his Nexus Axiom Energy into her body.

BOOM!

The force did not simply destroy her.

Instead, it penetrated her existence on every level.

As the energy spread through her body, Grey’s expression suddenly changed. He could see countless traces of corruption buried within her mind.

Endless negativity, despair, hatred, fear, and countless distorted emotions had accumulated inside the Embodiment from the moment she was born.

The Sea of Despair had not created her pure.

It had infected her with its own corruption.

Yet, rather than being surprised, Grey simply smirked.

”You’re standing before Perfection. How could something like this exist inside you?”

His Nexus Axiom Energy spread through her existence like cleansing fire.

One layer after another, every trace of despair was forcibly purified. The darkness within her mind began disappearing, while Grey’s power completely overwhelmed the negativity that had defined her existence.

The Embodiment screamed as the corruption was ripped away from her.

And just as the final trace of despair was erased from her being, something completely unexpected occurred.

The Mountain of Fate suddenly began to resonate.

BOOOOOOM!

An ancient and mysterious aura spread throughout the surrounding reality.

Grey slowly turned his head toward the Mountain of Fate.

There was a strange power being emitted from the Mountain Of Fate and it was going straight towards the Embodiment Of Despair.
