Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women

Chapter 592  X Ray Vision To Cheat

Darianʼs father was still hesitating when his mother turned around and pulled out another twenty thousand dollars from inside the house. This instantly gave Darian a huge boost of confidence.

He let out a straightforward chuckle, glanced at the time, and said, ”Then letʼs play until one. How about we set the cap at forty dollars? If you donʼt have enough cash, we can just transfer the money directly.”

It was at this moment that Nancy returned and placed twenty thousand dollars in cash on the table.

Everyone thought that since Daniel was no longer there, his wife would also take her leave, but instead, she plopped down right next to Luis.

What was even more outrageous was that Luis, who was smoking a cigarette, turned his head and said, ”Big sister, Iʼm thirsty. Go get me a can of beer. Make sure itʼs cold!”

”They donʼt have your usual brand here. Iʼll go back to our place and get it for you.”

What left everyone utterly stunned was that this super goddess, who was usually aloof and unapproachable, was now being incredibly attentive. She even made a special trip back to Darlanʼs villa to get Luisʼs preferred brand of beer.

After she returned, she sat meekly beside Luis, her quiet demeanor so unfamiliar that it felt surreal.

Everyone knew that when Daniel was playing, she would complain about the smoke and tell him to stop drinking. She was a very assertive person, but now she looked like nothing more than an obedient, gentle lamb.

Darian snapped out of his daze, and the way he looked at Luis grew even more hostile.

Clearly, these men had spent no small amount of time fantasizing about that celestial sister-in-law. Regardless of whether there was any actual affair, Nancyʼs attitude alone was enough to make them feel deeply displeased.

Darian pulled out a new deck of playing cards and said in a cold voice, ”Fine, letʼs play. Forty-dollar cap. This is a new deck.”

After speaking, he shuffled the cards. It seemed he was no stranger to gambling. He let the others cut the deck as well, making the process seem especially formal.

”Ding… Do you want to use two random mystery boxes to exchange for the exclusive skill: The Gamblerʼs X-ray Vision?”

There were only two random mystery boxes left in the Systemʼs inventory. After the exchange, there would be absolutely nothing left except the Aphrodisiac Incense (for men) and the Momotaro Rice Ball.

Two random mystery boxes could be used to exchange for any life-saving skill or skill for showing off at a critical moment. Using them on an idiot like this would be such a waste.

Besides, how much money could be won here? To put it bluntly, he didnʼt even care if he lost. Wasting two mystery boxes would be completely insane.

”No!!”

Luis directly refused. With millions of dollars still sitting in his bank account, losing was inconsequential. There was no way he would waste precious mystery boxes on this fool.

Especially his wife… sure, sleeping with her was satisfying since she was a charming yet reserved married woman, but in the end, she wasnʼt on the Systemʼs mission list. For that reason alone, Luis felt no urge whatsoever.

They cut the cards, then cut them again. As the first hand was dealt, Darian said with a smirk, ”Hey, live-in son-in-law, youʼre first to speak.”

”Then make it forty dollars!!”

Luis directly tossed fifty dollars into the center of the table. The others all wore hesitant expressions, clearly sensing that this was someone who meant business.

The rules they played by were also very simple. After the cards were dealt, the first round had to be played blind, meaning they placed bets without looking at their cards. Most of the time, it was just a few dollars as a formality.

They couldnʼt look at their cards in the first round, and yet Luis immediately raised to the cap. This was the first hand of the night.

Darian quickly followed suit. ”Alright, Iʼll match you. If you donʼt know how to play, you can leave after this round. That way, you wonʼt lose too much and think I cheated you.”

Luis just smiled without saying a word. The first round alone made many people uncomfortable. After all, it had already cost fifty dollars just for the first round.

Before this, when the minimum bet was one dollar and the cap was twenty dollars, many people couldnʼt even win that much in a single hand. Naturally, their mindsets started to shift.

By the second round, with so much money already in the pot, the logical move would have been to look at their cards. However, Luis said nonchalantly, ”Iʼll play blind again!”

With the cap at fifty dollars, playing blind meant betting fifty dollars, but actually looking at the cards would require betting a hundred dollars.

Upon hearing this, the expressions of most players changed. They chose to look at their cards, and even those who got an Ace hesitated for a long time before folding.

One stout man gritted his teeth and matched the bet. He put in a hundred dollars but didnʼt raise. Darianʼs expression immediately soured, but to save face, he didnʼt look at his cards either and simply threw down fifty dollars to continue playing blind.

”Continue. Blind fifty!”

Luis said this without a momentʼs hesitation. He didnʼt even blink, and his hands never once touched his cards.

After Darian finally looked at his cards, he was momentarily stunned. Gritting his teeth, he said, ”Have you been drinking too much? If you donʼt know how to play, just go to bed.”

Under normal circumstances, once someone looked at their cards, everyone else would follow suit and then start raising based on their hands. Those with bad cards would simply fold.

But by the second round, very few people continued playing blind. Those who did were either cheating or just deliberately causing trouble.

What made them feel both annoyed and helpless was that Luis hadnʼt even touched his cards. He just sat there smoking and drinking, and even added a taunting remark: ”Cousin, if I want to play blind in a game of Golden Flower, thatʼs my choice, isnʼt it? Or do I need to discuss it with you all?”

Darian felt incredibly awkward. To protect his pride, he also played along with the rivalry and played blind for another round.

After looking at his cards, the stout man hesitated for a moment and then threw in eighty dollars, engaging in a psychological battle. ”If youʼve got a gun, you might as well use it. Iʼm confident I can handle you two blind players.”

By the third round, Darian couldnʼt stand it anymore and looked at his cards. After cursing his bad luck, he folded.

Only Luis and the stout man remained. Luis didnʼt feel like tormenting the guy either. He picked up his cards and took a look, feeling a bit troubled.

A pair of twos. It was slightly better than a high card, but compared to other pairs, it was still the lowest. This kind of hand was the most annoying.

”Alright, letʼs see your cards then!”

Not wanting to fold felt like a waste, so Luis threw in eighty dollars and said with a friendly smile, ”Iʼll call. Letʼs just consider this money tossed into the water.”

The stout man was taken aback at first, then shook his head and simply threw his cards away. He laughed and said, ”Itʼs yours. Take the pot!!”

Daniel was initially stunned, then quickly realized what happened and pointed at the stout man, cursing, ”You bastard! You were bluffing! I folded with a pair of threes!”

The stout man just smiled and ignored him. Luis collected the money, and to his surprise, Nancy naturally and casually took it from him, humming a little tune as she tidied up the scattered bills.

She said cheerfully, ”A winning start to the night! That means youʼre going to sweep the table later.”

”Haha, Iʼll try!”

Luis wasnʼt particularly fond of gambling. Whether it was playing cards or mahjong, he didnʼt have the patience to sit for long. He would rather spend that time playing a few games, having a few drinks, or watching TV.

But that didnʼt mean Luis didnʼt know how to play. Having left society early, he had come into contact with all sorts of people.

Especially in a place like an auto repair shop, which was always a mix of different characters. So Luis certainly knew how to play, though he wouldnʼt claim to have any extraordinary card skills.

It wasnʼt like in the movies where someone could be a gambling god, but he was familiar with some tricks. He wasnʼt confident he could win, but when it came to annoying people or playing mind games, Luis was an expert.

The card game continued until one oʼclock, when Darianʼs father finally said, ”Alright, time to get some rest.”

”What… letʼs keep playing!”

Darian chugged most of a bottle of beer. His face was dark, and he was red-eyed from losing, his continuous drinking leaving him somewhat intoxicated.
