Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women

Chapter 253: Tiger Real Estate Is A Complete Scam

As soon as the car drove onto the highway, Arthur, who had maintained a stern expression the entire time, asked with concern, ”Son in law, how is your business going. Is everything proceeding smoothly lately.”

”Not bad at all, things have picked up quite rapidly over the last couple of days.”

Luis replied cheerfully, ”Dad, how much did we spend today. I will transfer the amount back to you later.”

”No need, this is an expense that adults should cover. I did not refuse even the small contribution your grandmother made.”

Arthur fell silent again for a moment, and Luis, feeling somewhat awkward, also remained quiet.

He truly felt very unfamiliar with his father in law, who had opposed the marriage back then.

However, the final decision had been made by his mother in law, Ruth Whitmore, so Luis had very little interaction with him.

Upon returning to the community, the mother and her two daughters went to buy groceries first, while Luis and his father in law, Arthur, headed home first. It was admittedly awkward that the nominal male head of the household did not possess a key to this place.

”The house looks quite nice now.”

Upon entering, Arthur was somewhat taken aback. The formerly old fashioned and rigid living room had been completely transformed.

Not only was new wallpaper applied, but all the furniture had been replaced with high end pieces. For a moment, he thought he had entered the wrong house.

He vaguely recalled that his last visit was on New Year’s Eve last year. Generally, he only came here symbolically for the reunion dinner on New Year’s Eve, partly to show respect to Ruth Whitmore, the official wife.

”Yes, I earned a bit this year and decided to redo the house. My eldest sister helped select everything. Now that Lily is pregnant, I did not want her to trouble herself with these matters.”

Arthur toured the upstairs and downstairs like a guest. Especially after purchasing Old Bard’s adjoining apartment and fully integrating it, this home felt completely foreign to him.

After clearing the clutter from the living room balcony, there was space for a small tea table. Luis had already begun brewing tea. ”Dad, please have some tea first.”

Arthur sat down and took a small sip. Luis then offered him a cigarette and lit it for him. This show of closeness made him feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Noticing that Luis was smoking good cigarettes and seeing full cartons in the nearby cabinet, Arthur, who had been hesitating to speak all day, smoked quietly. Suddenly, gritting his teeth, he said, ”Son in law, Dad has a matter he would like to discuss with you.”

”Dad, we are family, please do not be so formal. If there is something, just say it directly.”

Luis’s attitude was very respectful.

”Dad would like to borrow 30,000 dollars from you.”

Arthur finally spoke through clenched teeth. ”The settlement for this year’s project payments is coming in too slowly. I am under significant pressure regarding the return of funds. We need to plug this gap first, otherwise the entire year will be difficult.”

”Alright.”

Luis agreed readily.

His father in law, Arthur, was undoubtedly a playboy. He had taken a concubine despite having his mother in law, and there were numerous other romantic scandals involving him.

However, he was decent in other aspects. At the very least, he had never given Luis a hard time or mocked him, which was far better than his previous mother in law had been.

Seeing Luis agree so readily, Arthur was momentarily stunned.

He had always been a male chauvinist, concerned with face and reputation, similar to Darlan. He would not ask others for loans unless he was absolutely desperate.

Moreover, asking his own son in law proved that he was genuinely in dire need of money now.

”By the end of the year, once the project payments come through and my cash flow stabilizes, I will repay you 20,000 dollars first. I will manage to cover the remaining 10,000 next year.”

Arthur let out a long sigh and stated meticulously, ”Dad can write you an IOU, with interest calculated at the bank rate.”

”Dad, we are family, please do not say such distant things. You can repay me whenever your cash flow allows.”

Luis smiled and shook his head.

Arthur looked genuinely relieved and asked, ”Do you need to discuss this with Lily.”

”No need. I manage the funds for my business myself. She never interferes with it.”

Luis shook his head again.

Arthur laughed heartily and praised, ”The man handling external affairs and the woman managing the household is indeed a good arrangement. Lily’s temperament is truly obedient and well behaved, unlike your eldest sister, who takes after your mother in law and is quite the tigress.”

”By the way. Do not mention this matter to your mother. I do not want to argue with her.”

Arthur was well aware that if Ruth found out about this, she would undoubtedly be furious.

Luis pondered for a moment and then said with a smile, ”Dad, then I will give the money to my eldest sister tomorrow, and she can transfer it to you. She is very discreet and would definitely not mention this matter in front of Mom.”

”Fine. I will send the IOU to your eldest sister later as well.”

Having resolved his financial difficulties, Arthur breathed a huge sigh of relief. Just then, the mother and her two daughters returned with the groceries they had bought.

Hotpot was relatively simple to prepare. They also bought some ready made dishes to serve with drinks. After setting the table, they each went back to their rooms to change clothes.

Amusingly, they all changed into homely spaghetti strap dresses, but without exception, every one of them put on a bra. Even his mother in law, Ruth, changed into the most conservative dress, one she hardly ever wore now.

It was worth noting that now, except for the virgin sister in law, everyone had grown accustomed to going braless at home, and were used to Luis running around in just his underwear.

Now that Father-in-Law Arthur had arrived, everyone became somewhat restrained. Luis also put on his beach shorts and was no longer shirtless. Arthur himself did not seem entirely comfortable, dressed rather formally.

”Dad, let’s have some Remy Martin!” Nancy brought out a bottle from the wine cabinet. Ruth said with a cheerful laugh, ”It’s the first time you two are drinking together. Son-in-law, make sure to keep your Dad company properly later.”

On the surface, it seemed harmonious and joyful, but the conversation felt forced, their relationship essentially that of the most familiar strangers.

The sisters, Lily and Nancy, did not drink any alcohol. They finished their meal first, went downstairs for a walk, and then went to practice driving. The young pregnant woman was now very focused on managing her figure.

Ruth had no card game scheduled for the evening, but she was going for a beauty treatment and a massage. The annoyance of having large breasts was the heavy burden they placed, easily causing backaches and soreness. She often needed massages to help herself feel more comfortable.

”Put the hot pot away. Just leave a few simple dishes for drinking. My son-in-law and I haven’t had our fill of drinks yet.” Arthur, his face flushed red from alcohol, spoke up, a wide, very happy smile on his face.

Firstly, the funding issue was finally resolved, which allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief. Secondly, this was the first time he, as a father-in-law, was drinking with his second son-in-law, who in the past had been like a mute pauper.

Now, after drinking together, he discovered that this son-in-law was remarkably eloquent and, crucially, treated him with great respect. This attitude alone was enough to make him feel quite pleased with himself.

”Still ordering people around, are you? Make sure you two don’t overdo it with the drinking.” Although Ruth said this, before leaving, she still cleared away the hot pot and took the bowls and chopsticks used by herself and her two daughters into the kitchen.

She gave the table a quick wipe, leaving behind a roast chicken and a plate of edamame. Before leaving, she also took the seafood that hadn’t been cooked in the hot pot, saying she would have someone prepare it with a spicy flavor later and bring it back.

”Son-in-law, let me tell you, that job at Tiger Real Estate was a complete scam.” Arthur started venting, cursing, ”I asked around. That accountant position is just temporary labor, no chance of becoming permanent. That Daniel is utterly unreliable. How could your mother ever believe his nonsense back then?”

”Scam or not, it doesn’t matter. Whoever wants to go to that damn place can go.” Luis clearly remembered in his mind that the very first task triggered by the System interface, the one unrelated to this family, was connected to Tiger Real Estate.

”Ding... Dungeon Mission: Apology with a Cock in Your Mouth (System Resetting).”

He didn’t know the exact circumstances, but it definitely involved that woman from Tiger Real Estate, the one who hit him.

He wondered if it was because it had been too long since it was accessed, causing the mission to enter a reset state. He guessed it would probably only be issued once he returned to Tiger Real Estate.

He forgot what the reward was, but it certainly wasn’t much. Right now, with so many System missions, side quests, and dungeons available to choose from, Luis decided not to dwell on it for the time being.
