Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women

Chapter 213: Argue With Idiot, He Will Lower Your IQ

Even though Arthur was a small-scale contractor, in Logan’s eyes, he was still just a peasant.

Arthur similarly looked down on him. A poor teacher constantly proclaiming his literary refinement, dirt poor yet still putting on airs. What kind of virtue did he possess to be worthy of the gentle, wise, and capable Eloise?

Frankly, on this point, Luis strongly agreed with his cheap Father-in-law’s viewpoint.

Just based on the remark he made upon entering, he was lucky not to get slapped. A literati? A rural teacher, desperately poor, yet finding fault with everything. One could only say that civilized society had saved his wretched life.

Logan looked around and snorted, saying, ”What’s the purpose of coming to a place like this? You have money to burn, is that it?”

Arriving and immediately being such a killjoy, Ruth’s temper flared up instantly. Just as she was about to erupt, her sister Eloise held her back, offering a subtle, pained smile and shaking her head slightly.

Although some estrangement existed between the two sisters, seeing that bitter smile made Ruth sigh and suppress her anger.

Logan stepped forward to inspect the table, tapped it, and said, ”Passable. It’s a solid marble table.”

Seeing his pretentious demeanor, the three Wood sisters were furious. All three were seething, but seeing their aunt’s pleading look, they dared not speak up.

”Uncle!”

Luis followed behind him, offering a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, and said, ”The cultural circles are quite lofty, something we simply cannot access.

But if the Gestor Palace’s standard isn’t high enough, does Uncle have any better places to recommend?”

”Everything you say reeks of money, it’s all filthy lucre. Your awareness is far too low.”

Logan snorted, brimming with pride, and said, ”I know a place nestled among mountains, waters, and bamboo forests, where every detail holds subtle delight. Spending money here just makes you seem like a vulgar, money-grubbing philistine. You’d be better off going there instead.”

”Okay, next time I’ll go and buy it.”

Luis made a note of it, stating it casually and without emphasis.

Logan turned back, startled, and asked, ”What did you say?!”

Luis chuckled and said, ”No matter how money-grubbing and vulgar that place might be, everything has its price. If Uncle likes it, I’ll just go and buy it, that’s all.”

”You scoundrel! You are insulting refinement and civility itself!”

Logan’s face instantly flushed a deep red.

Luis said with a laugh, ”I’m a vulgar man. To be perfectly honest, I rather enjoy the idea of using filthy money to insult civility.”

”Enough from you! Haven’t you said enough?!”

Eloise could no longer maintain her composure. She glared angrily at Logan and said, ”We’re here for a meal today, and you’re picking faults and finding flaws. What exactly is your problem?”

Logan settled down a little, sat down, snorted, and asked with a sullen expression, ”Where is Arthur? Why hasn’t he come?”

Forgetting that it was his own brother-in-law, even addressing a stranger older than himself by his full name was disrespectful.

Nancy, looking after her dearest aunt, put on a smiling face and said, ”My dad is busy.”

”Auntie, why didn’t Aisha come?”

Leah pressed further.

Her aunt’s only daughter was her best playmate. A year younger than her, they always got along famously. Whenever they got together, they were like a pair of wild girls.

”She...”

Before Eloise could finish her sentence, Logan snorted and said discontentedly,

”Studying at home, of course. Her exam results were a complete mess. I don’t know who she inherited that pig-like brain from.”

”If she took after me, she would have mastered her studies long ago.”

This sarcastic, veiled criticism was aimed at Eloise. Ruth could no longer listen quietly and lashed out,

”less of your insinuations! With your character, you possess not a shred of true culture. You are a complete and utter failure.”

”Who are you calling a failure?”

Logan’s expression changed instantly.

”You. I’m talking about you.”

”What a pathetic specimen! For thirty or forty years, stuck in a township school, you couldn’t even manage to become a head teacher. Those who graduated with you are probably all school principals by now.”

This remark struck directly at his most vulnerable spot. Logan, with his extreme, literary-minded personality, was usually taciturn, but when he did speak, his mouth was exceptionally foul.

His cynical, misanthropic attitude hadn’t softened even at his age. While others used connections and sought opportunities to move to cities with better conditions, or at least secured minor official posts to earn higher salaries...

If he were truly content, genuinely principled and willing to dedicate his life to teaching and nurturing others, that would be one thing, and at least somewhat admirable.

In reality, he was self-righteous, loved meddling in others’ affairs, and was consistently sidelined at school. He was always left holding the bag when things went wrong, while benefits never came his way.

Forget about interpersonal savvy, he was too proud to lower himself and build good relationships with colleagues. He acted superior all day long, fond of lecturing others, and couldn’t even manage relationships with his own relatives, let alone anyone else.

”That is because I am unwilling to associate with those corrupt people.”

Logan said, his face flushing red.

”Oh, oh, it is because others look down on you. You would need their willingness even if you wanted to associate with them.”

Ruth continued with her sharp tongue, ”Brother in law, you really need to start saving that meager salary of yours now. Otherwise, if Aisha tests into a high school in the city, you will not even be able to afford the tuition fees.”

Eloise quickly grabbed her sister’s hand and said, ”Elder Sister, I am working too, that will not happen.”

Eloise was introverted and completely socially anxious. Finding a stable job was difficult for her, and she was currently working as a part time domestic cleaner. It was said she was already studying, preparing to take the exam to become a certified postpartum nanny.

”That is still better than that Arthur.”

Logan’s face turned red with disdain as he said, ”He is just a country bumpkin who earned a few stinking dollars, then abandoned his wife to find a mistress.”

This was a case of getting hit while lying down. If the father in law knew about this, he would probably be utterly confused and curse, asking what the hell it had to do with him.

Ruth sneered coldly and said, ”So what? Arthur has more responsibility than you. The living allowance he gives me every month is more than your entire salary.”

Luis watched from the side with great relish. Indeed, fights between relatives who knew each other inside out were the most brutal.

If it were Daniel being confronted, Luis would be itching to jump in.

But when it came to this uncle, Luis simply had no interest.

Firstly, there was no grudge between them, and secondly, arguing with such an idiot felt like it was lowering his own IQ. Besides, now that he had his Mother in law under his control, no, under his command, having such a fierce general like her was enough.

”Alright, Mom, stop talking.”

Nancy was closest to her aunt and immediately stepped in to mediate.

Eloise hung her head with a deeply wronged expression, looking as if she was about to burst into tears at any moment.

Luis carefully observed this aunt. She was not as stunningly beautiful as his Mother in law, Ruth, but she had the delicate charm of a lady from a modest family, a gentle and enchanting mature beauty.

He remembered her as being very quiet and not speaking much. Her pitiable appearance evoked a sense of protectiveness, but one look at her voluptuous figure and full, ample breasts, almost an exact copy of his Mother in law’s, and Luis could not control himself from swallowing hard. An evil desire rose within him, a wish to make her cry while she knelt between his legs giving him a blowjob.

”Fine, I will not say anymore!”

Ruth was also exasperated by this man’s foul mouth. Back then, her younger sister had thought he was quiet and honest, and had taken a liking to him. Who would have known his mouth would be so vile and cheap, only capable of ruining the mood.

Luis also stepped forward to smooth things over, offering Logan a cigarette and saying, ”Uncle, please sit down first. The others will arrive shortly.”
