Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 1045: The Overseer

”Did you feel anything?”

Silence.

Fierce Breaker stood behind the Overseer. His head had been reattached, and he had fully healed. Swamp Dragon hadnʼt been sure if the Overseer would keep Fierce Breaker alive or not, but he had said that there was a possibility that the Overseer would like to keep him around.

Turns out, Swamp Dragon had been right. Surprisingly, the Overseer hadnʼt killed Fierce Breaker along with everyone else.

However, that also didnʼt mean a lot. After all, Fierce Breakerʼs life was still in the Overseerʼs hands.

”Does it matter?” a female voice asked.

Fierce Breaker raised an eyebrow as he looked at the Overseer. She looked like a regular human. Her height was a bit above average, and she had long red hair. She wore a black military uniform, and at this moment, she was just looking at the world.

Her world.

”It doesnʼt,” Fierce Breaker answered with a snort. ”Youʼre caught in Swamp Dragonʼs web of plots. Chances are high that your actions will lead to your death, and the best thing of all is that you will do so willingly.”

The Overseer narrowed her eyes as she glared at Fierce Breaker coldly. At the same time, Fierce Breaker felt the weight of a powerful Momentum pressing onto his mind.
”I am over a billion years old,” the Overseer commented evenly. ”Do you truly believe a mere Spirit Lord can outsmart me?”

”Yes, I do,” Fierce Breaker answered. ”Swamp Dragon might not be as old as you, but this strange inheritance has changed him. Itʼs hard to believe, but he managed to predict all of this. He even predicted that you would keep me alive.”

”A careless decision made of a momentary fancy,” the Overseer answered. ”Your continued existence is inconsequential. The only reason why you are still here is that you might still prove useful.”

”Is that the truth?” Fierce Breaker asked. ”Or is this your human side influencing your actions?”

The Overseerʼs eyes became more intense. The words of this Spirit Lord felt surprisingly scathing. Killing him wouldnʼt be difficult. She wouldnʼt even feel anything.

However, killing Fierce Breaker would make her feel like she would have lost some kind of imaginary battle of wills.

”Is it necessary to kill every living thing to comprehend the Minor Law of Death?” she asked.

”Almost everything,” Fierce Breaker answered. ”The God of the Cult also looked at the Minor Law of Death before, and he didnʼt need to kill everyone. He still had a group of people with him. You have to view it as an us-versus-them situation. Are we part of the world or are we just onlookers at this moment? If you think Iʼm part of the world, youʼll have to kill me.”

The Overseer went through countless scenarios in her head.

It would make no sense for Fierce Breaker to lie right now. After all, he hadnʼt even been sure if she would spare him. Additionally, she had already eradicated all life in the Main Dimension.

”You may keep living,” she said after some time.

”Once more, your actions are driving you closer to death,” Fierce Breaker said with a small smile.

”Are you claiming that youʼre a danger?” she asked coldly.

”It depends on what you mean with ʼyouʼ,” Fierce Breaker said. ”I am not a danger. I will also never become a danger. Yet, if I am no longer myself, things might change.”

”What mysterious words,” the Overseer commented dryly. ”If they were spoken by a Lord or Demigod, I might even consider them important.”

Fierce Breaker just smirked knowingly.

Swamp Dragon had predicted almost all of this. Sure, he hadnʼt perfectly predicted how things would go since there were always unknowns, but he had made plans for all eventualities. The current development perfectly mimicked one of the eventualities Swamp Dragon had predicted.

This gave Fierce Breaker a lot of confidence. After all, almost all eventualities in which the Overseer would kill Fierce Breaker had passed. The next eventuality would arrive much later, and if they ever reached that moment...

It would mean that the Overseer had survived two moments that could realistically kill her.

”I want to make a guess,” Fierce Breaker said. ”Iʼm just curious if Swamp Dragon correctly predicted your situation.”

The Overseerʼs immediate instinct was to tell Fierce Breaker to shut up. After all, she wanted to comprehend the Minor Law of Death, and these conversations were making it hard to focus.

Yet, Fierce Breakerʼs tales of Swamp Dragonʼs schemes had drawn her interest. She was mildly curious about his predictions.

”You were born as a regular beast, not a Divine Beast, correct?” Fierce Breaker asked.

The Overseer didnʼt answer.

”You were not born in Ayuvar,” Fierce Breaker said.

The Overseerʼs brows furrowed.

”You were part of human society as something like a servant, mount, defender, or something similar,” Fierce Breaker continued.

”You wanted to be human.”

”You split your Beast Core.”

”As an Ascendant, youʼve fused your Aspects of Power again. By all intents and purposes, your existence perfectly emulates the existence of a human. You have a Spirit, a body, a Center, and a mind, which have all been fused in the Fusion Realm. Your attributes are the same as a humanʼs attributes.”

”Except for one thing.”

”You are untouched by Karmic Luck. Am I right so far?” Fierce Breaker asked, repeating Swamp Dragonʼs guesses.

The Overseer turned to look at Fierce Breaker. ”And how would I have been able to ascend to Ayuvar, then?”

”Does it matter?” Fierce Breaker asked. ”I asked if I was right. Was I right?”

”Partially,” the Overseer answered after some time.

”Youʼve also almost finished comprehending the Law of Karmic Causality,” Fierce Breaker added. ”Youʼve been trying to comprehend it for a long time, but you canʼt seem to get it. Itʼs just out of reach.”

”But I will never finish it,” the Overseer interjected. ”Thatʼs because itʼs impossible. I already know all of this. My Spirit has only completed its evolution during the Aspect Fusion. I count as a human right now, but I didnʼt count as a human before.”

”I have all the powers of a Spirit, but I lack the official recognition.”

”Youʼre not registered,” Fierce Breaker said. ”The Spirits of Ascendants are fused with their other Aspects, which means their Spirits do not exist in the Spirit Plane anymore. However, even though their Spirits are no longer in the Spirit Plane, the spots their Spirits used to occupy are still reserved.”

”You could say they own a piece of land. They do not live there, and they do not even have a house there, but they still own land, and according to the Cosmosʼ rules...”

”You need to own land to be a proper citizen.”

”To comprehend the Law of Karmic Causality, you need to see and feel the Spirit Plane. In fact, it only works on the Spirit Plane. Even if you somehow manage to comprehend it, you wouldnʼt be able to use it.”

”Youʼre stuck.”

”Are you done?” the Overseer asked calmly.

”Yes,” Fierce Breaker answered.

The Overseer didnʼt say anything else and focused on the world.

There was no life anymore, and as she looked at the world, she felt something she had never felt before. It was a feeling of finality.

The end of existence.

While the Overseer looked at the world, Fierce Breaker closed his eyes.
