Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 988: Driving the Demon Car

Kyle moved the Demon Car towards the east at a perceived snailʼs pace. It still moved at around 300 kilometers per second, but that was nothing compared to Kyleʼs actual speed.

Yet, even though this thing was moving so slowly, Kyle still focused on its perception. After all, what if a powerful attack suddenly arrived?

Usually, one would believe that Kyle wouldnʼt be able to react since the surroundings had to be perceived by the Demon Car first before they were forwarded, but that wasnʼt the case.

The Demon Car was designed to directly forward signals without processing, which meant the signals didnʼt have to be interpreted by the Demon Car. The speed at which Energy moved was basically infinite. Since space and time were also made of Energy, Energyʼs speed was essentially unconstrained.

When an object entered someoneʼs Energy Sense, the information of this object came into existence at the exact same moment in time. The only reason why people often couldnʼt react was that they needed to interpret the information first.

So, even though Kyle couldnʼt sense a lot, he could still process the information at his fastest speed, and as a New Spirit Lord, who had once been a Legendary Sage, and with a Level 5.5 Infused Mind Law, Kyleʼs thinking speed was incredibly fast.

For several minutes, the Demon Car kept traveling towards the east as Kyle scanned his surroundings.

Then, Kyle noticed something.

An Early Crusher Beast was rapidly approaching them.

It was quite a bit stronger than the Demon Car and was moving about twice as fast. By the looks of things, the Crusher Beast wanted to consume the Demon Car.
By itself, the Demon Car would be almost helpless against this thing.

The Crusher Beast was a gigantic fish with rows and rows of teeth. It opened its mouth as it approached the Demon Car.

The Demon Car slightly moved towards the right before quickly moving to the left, creating a strange scene.

The fish veered slightly to the side and barely missed the Demon Car. From an outsiderʼs perspective, it almost looked like the fish had deliberately missed the Demon Car.

At the same time, the Demon Carʼs arms stretched towards the side of the fishʼs body. Its long claws perfectly hit a spot between its scales. Sadly, the Demon Car could only create a superficial wound with its arms.

Then, the fish lost all power and died.

ʼWorks just as described,ʼ Kyle thought.

Even though the fish had been far stronger than the Demon Car, winning had been very easy.

The main reason was the difference in thinking speed. While such a clash would be chaotic and fast for the fish, when Kyle actually focused, it was very slow. Metaphorically, the fish was playing an action game while Kyle was playing a turn-based strategy game. He could go through the game one frame at a time, deliberating every frame and deciding what to do.

Kyle could have slowly whittled down the fish, but he also wanted to experiment with his weapons. Since the Demon Car was so weak, there was a high chance that it would break easily. Because of that, Manny had created tiny channels inside it.

These tiny channels led from the big room to the tip of every claw. This gave Kyle the ability to prepare his Energy just below the tip of every claw. As soon as the claw broke, the Energy could be released. However, that also meant that the outside was connected with the inside, allowing any watcher to see the inside of the Demon Car.

Because of that, Kyle still needed to injure any attacker with the Demon Carʼs limbs. By creating a small hole with one of the claws, the tip of the claw would be surrounded by the enemyʼs body. At that point, the enemyʼs Spirit would keep outside perceptions isolated.

Kyle had just dumped some Metal Energy into the tiny hole. The Metal Energy had directly traveled to the fishʼs Beast Core, destroying it. At the same time, the tip of the claw recovered, isolating the insides again.

From an outsiderʼs perspective, this fight had been strange. The fish had deliberately missed the Demon Car. Then, the Demon Car simply touched the fish with a claw, after which the fish died.

The corpse floated down, and soon, it was consumed by other beasts. Any onlooker would believe that the Demon Carʼs actions would be strange. After all, this fish was in a higher Realm than it. Consuming it would be incredibly beneficial.

However, this was part of Mannyʼs plan. The Demon Car needed an identity, and right now, it didnʼt have one. In the Abyss, it would be one of countless mindless Demons, but that wouldnʼt be good enough. They needed access to important areas, and mindless Demons didnʼt seek these areas.

The Demon Car kept traveling towards the east. Over the next few hours, Kyle killed a couple more beasts.

While emerging from the Demon Car had still been a possibility earlier, it was no longer possible now. They had left the original range of their Energy Senses, entering unknown territory.

Sadly, they were nowhere close to completing the journey.

The Divide was almost a trillion kilometers wide, and even though they had entered the Demon Car at the halfway point, they still had a journey of 500 billion kilometers in front of them.

At a speed of about 300 kilometers per second, they needed to travel for almost 1.7 billion seconds, which translated into a bit more than 50 years.

Unfortunately, there wasnʼt anything they could do to speed up their travels.

Days of mindless and boring traveling passed. Luckily, nothing unforeseen happened, which was a good thing. By now, they must have passed by several Demons, which were on their way to the front lines. Since none of them had attacked or stopped them, it most likely meant that their disguise was working.

Years passed, and the mood inside the Demon Car became worse. The three of them still had their relays, but the relays were also restricted by the Demon Carʼs isolation. This meant that they couldnʼt contact Manny, Swamp Dragon, or Fierce Breaker. In fact, they couldnʼt even contact each other via the relay. If they wanted to use the relay, they would need to build a connection with the outside, which was risky.

This meant that they didnʼt have access to news from the outside world. It was already possible that the Overseer had looked at the world. It was also possible that Manny and Fierce Breaker were already dead.

The uncertainty pulled the mood down quite a bit.

Yet, as more years passed and as they slowly closed in on the Abyss, their focus changed.

Soon, they would enter the Abyss. While the edges of the Abyss were well known by Humanity, the depths of the Abyss were mostly a mystery. Via frontal assaults, Humanity had seen parts of the Abyss, but they hadnʼt truly entered its depths.

Hopefully, this would change soon. Manny had told them how they could enter the Abyss, but Manny had never been inside the Abyss himself. They couldnʼt be sure how accurate his information was.

However, Manny hadnʼt made a wrong call yet. They trusted his judgment, and if he said that doing something would achieve a certain effect, they believed him, even if they didnʼt understand why.

Eventually, the Demon Car landed on solid ground.

It had officially reached the territory of the Demons.

The Abyss.
