Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 984: Backup Plans

Kyle thought about Mannyʼs explanation. It was still a bit hard to visualize how a Spirit worked exactly, but he understood the comparison.

”So, itʼs basically a copy of my actual existence and a set of abilities and permissions, right?” Kyle asked.

”Yes, you could call it your true self. You only exist inside of this Cosmos and its reality. If you do not have a Spirit, you do not exist as an entity. You would only exist as a lifeless object, like a stone or a piece of metal. Improving the power of your Spirit represents gaining more permissions. Thatʼs also why fusing your Aspects isnʼt possible earlier. Your Spirit first needs to gain permission to fuse your Aspects.”

”You can also create a new life with your Laws, but thatʼs because the weight of a new life is minuscule. Their Spirit would be so small and weak that they donʼt really need to be inside the Cosmosʼ registry of Spirits, if you want to call it like that. However, I think you know that while creating new life is technically possible, the Cosmos doesnʼt allow it.”

”This is very advanced stuff,” Manny added. ”The Spiritʼs existence is interwoven with the very foundation of how this entire Cosmos works. You only start realizing the greater picture when youʼre one of the strongest Demigods.”

”But you know about that,” Kyle commented.

”Yes, but I havenʼt seen it myself. As Iʼve said, Iʼm not faking my Realm. Iʼm actually a New Spirit Lord. Iʼve never been a stronger Spirit Lord, Ascendant, Immortal, or anything thatʼs considered stronger than that. When I came into existence, I was a Mortal, and like everyone else, I had to work my way up. Iʼm not some ancient guy. Iʼm about as old as all of you. I might be a bit older, but not much.”

”I just know a lot because of what other people have experienced. I didnʼt experience these things. I just know about them.”

Kyle wanted to know more, but he knew that Manny wasnʼt willing to share more. Manny had already stated that the details of his vast knowledge involved secrets that were more important than all of Ayuvar and its inhabitants.

”I understand. Itʼs fine,” Kyle transmitted.
Manny just smiled a bit. ”Anyway, the others are about done as well. I think we should continue with the next step of our plan.”

Kyle looked at Manny with discomfort as he recalled some of the planʼs details.

If everything worked out, it would be great. Unfortunately, or fortunately, Manny had also created several backup plans. Kyle just hoped that these backup plans wouldnʼt come into effect.

ʼHope for the best and prepare for the worst, I guess,ʼ Kyle thought.

Everyone looked at Manny in silence, waiting for his orders. He had never become their official leader, and yet, all of them treated him as their leader.

First, Manny turned towards Fierce Breaker. ”Are you prepared?” he asked. ”Itʼs not easy to abandon yourself.”

Fierce Breaker closed his eyes for a moment, took a deep breath, and nodded.

Then, Fierce Breakerʼs body changed. After some time, he looked just like Kyle. His weapon also changed shape until it looked like Kyleʼs hammer.

In the end, it seemed like a second Kyle was present.

There was only one difference.

The aura.

Changing oneʼs aura wasnʼt easy, and despite Fierce Breakerʼs immense power, he could only slightly change his aura. His True Sin Aura was still in full effect and couldnʼt be hidden. His aura was intense, but it couldnʼt even hope to compare to Kyleʼs true aura.

But that wasnʼt necessary. The only people who had seen Kyleʼs true aura within the last millennia were either part of their group or dead. Overlord Riverly was the only exception, but she most likely wouldnʼt compromise their mission.

Next, Fierce Breaker and Kyle pulled their Emblems out.

Manny contacted Overlord Sunlight, and then...

Fierce Breakerʼs Emblem turned into dust as Kyleʼs Emblem lost all its luster.

”Take it,” Manny transmitted.

Fierce Breaker took hold of Kyleʼs Emblem, and a second later, the Emblem shone again.

As an Overlord, Overlord Sunlight had tremendous authority. Just now, she had designated Fierce Breaker as deceased, which was why his Emblem had turned to dust. At the same time, she had activated the reattunement process of Kyleʼs Emblem. Kyleʼs Emblem had been covered in Fierce Breakerʼs aura, and it accepted his aura as Kyleʼs new aura.

Before they had started their breakthroughs, Kyle had already given Fierce Breaker a lengthy summary of his life on Ayuvar. He had also recorded everything on his Emblem.

Fierce Breaker still existed as an individual, but for all of Humanity and the Demons, he was Black Sin Hammer 37 now.

This was one of Mannyʼs backup plans. The Overseer couldnʼt travel through time. If they hadnʼt seen Kyle before, they wouldnʼt notice that Fierce Breaker wasnʼt Kyle. If they decided to kill Kyle, they would kill Fierce Breaker instead.

An alternative was that the Overseer would look at Kyle, see the intensity of his aura, and decide that he wasnʼt a danger. In that case, Fierce Breaker would survive.

Another alternative was that the Overseer wouldnʼt even look at them, but in that case, the Demons would still desperately want to kill Kyle. If Black Sin Hammer 37 just vanished, they might become suspicious. Thatʼs why Black Sin Hammer 37 had to keep making appearances.

Fierce Breaker looked at his new Emblem, which started to shine again.

His spare time was over, and he was supposed to get back to duty.

A moment later, Fierce Breaker looked at his companions. He wasnʼt sure if he would ever see them again.

”I hope you succeed,” he said.

The others nodded with determination.

”Iʼll be waiting for you. See you later!” he said with a smile, mimicking Kyle, before teleporting away.

Kyle took a deep breath.

Fierce Breaker was putting his life on the line to protect him. It wasnʼt certain that he would die soon, but it also didnʼt look good. Black Sin Hammer 37 was probably one of the most important targets for the Demons.

”Swamp Dragon,” Manny said as he turned to him. ”Iʼve already added you to all of the permissions for the wisp communication and the relay. For now, theyʼre inactive, but if the necessity arises, you will run everything.”

Swamp Dragon nodded with conviction.

A moment later, Manny summoned a red orb, which he handed to Swamp Dragon.

”This contains the true inheritance of our Organization. As long as the orb remains red, trying to manipulate or inspect the orb will result in its destruction. If it ever turns green, you will see a list of strict oaths. If you swear all of them, you can absorb our inheritance.”

”I have to stress that you do not need to do this. The oaths are very strict, and even if you swear all of them, the inheritance will change you. You will gain new memories of a life you havenʼt lived. You will experience the most formative years of our ancestor, and these experiences will leave a lasting and unchangeable impact on you.”

”If you decide to absorb the inheritance, you will no longer be yourself.”

Swamp Dragon nodded as he accepted the orb. ”I understand. If the need arises, I will not shy away from sacrificing my life.”

Then, Swamp Dragon turned to the others. ”I wish you all good luck. Hopefully, the orb will remain red forever.”

The others nodded as Swamp Dragon teleported away.

They really hoped that the orb would remain red.

The orb would only turn green under one condition.

Mannyʼs death.

Everyone looked at Manny with worry.

Only the group of supporters knew that Kyle was Ayuvarʼs true hope. The investigators and Humanity only knew of things that had happened after the event. During the investigation, Kyle hadnʼt even been noticeable.

Manny had been at the center. When any Overlord thought about the events of that day, Manny was the first and most prominent person who sprang to mind.

He had been at the center of everything.

If Black Sin Hammer 37 was one of the Demonʼs primary targets...

Manny was THE primary target.

If the Overseer looked at the world, there might be a chance that they would ignore Black Sin Hammer 37, but there would be no chance that they would leave Manny alive.
