Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 1155: Parents

Kyle watched the scene in silence.

ʼIs this what the advancement is about?ʼ Kyle thought as he looked at his mother and his younger self.

ʼEven though he was looking at them, he was paying more attention to something else.

The Karmic Lines.

ʼMy powers have not vanished. I can still see the Karmic Lines. Since they are Mortals, their Karmic Luck doesnʼt change, but the Karmic Lines are still there.ʼ

Just by looking at the Karmic Lines, Kyle learned a lot about his mother. Additionally, Mortals were not very complicated, and compared to a Seeker, their minds were slow. Even the smallest twitches of their facial muscles were unmissable to Kyle.

Every wrinkle and faded scar had a story. The composition of her body told Kyle how she had lived her life. Even more, since Kyleʼs Divine Consciousness could easily encompass all of Earth, he could also follow his motherʼs Karmic Lines to their origins.

He could see her teachers, acquaintances, friends, family, and all the other people she had been in contact with. Then, by reading their Karmic Lines and compositions, Kyle could recreate the majority of his motherʼs past life with reliable accuracy.

ʼItʼs strange that I can sense all of Earth. I thought that I could only see what I remember, but thatʼs not the case. This means that this scene hasnʼt been recreated by my memories. Instead, it seems like Iʼm viewing a recording of Earth.ʼ

Kyle felt the Elemental Energies of Earth.
ʼThereʼs barely any Energy,ʼ he thought. ʼThe Primordial Forces have been changed and locked, forcing the Elemental Energies into realized states. The Primordial Forces are taking their potential away, locking them into unchangeable states.ʼ

As Kyle looked at his mother, a complex expression appeared on his face.

ʼSure enough, no human life is uncomplicated and clear.ʼ

Kyle could see a big part of his motherʼs life. She grew up in an above-average, suburban family. Her own mother had been at home all of the time, but she hadnʼt truly put in any effort into raising her three children. Most of the work had been done by a nanny. Her father had been busy and distant. Instead of asking how his children were doing, he was asking about their grades and behavior. If they were not up to par, he coldly criticized his wife, who was forced to take the criticism. She had often dreamed about running away from home and divorcing her husband, but that meant that she needed to get a job, and she really didnʼt want to do that.

ʼKyleʼs mother woke up in a cold home, and when she became a teenager, she started to act out. She tried to find a community, but the only group that accepted her was made of teenagers and young adults who had their own problems. Bad influences spread, and when she became 17, she got addicted to meth.

Her mother found out a year later and used her addiction as a weapon to criticize her husband. According to her, her daughter had turned out like this because her father was never home to discipline her.

The resulting argument broke the family apart, and both of them admitted to cheating. The father got custody of the two younger children. Kyleʼs mother had been the oldest, and her father had immediately forbidden her from contacting her siblings. He didnʼt want a druggy to negatively influence his two children.

She landed on the street and worked as a prostitute. Eventually, she met Kyleʼs father, and they made a deal. Drugs in exchange for sex.

Sadly, that didnʼt help her get off the streets, which was why she came up with a plan. She had realized that her new friend had an interesting mix of morals. His values were very traditional, and he valued children highly. Due to his own troubled past, he abhorred parents who divorced while raising a child. They had made a choice to have a child, and it was their job to stick together until the child was an adult, no matter how much the two hated each other.

She lied about her birth control, and after a lot of convincing and help, she managed to secretly become pregnant. After six months of pregnancy, she told him the news, and as expected, he was devastated.

However, Kyleʼs father kept to his word, and he decided to become a father. Kyleʼs mother moved in, and he was born.

Yet, whenever Kyleʼs father saw his son, he felt trapped. He had long since lost all of the goodwill he had had for his ”girlfriend”. Kyle was the physical representation of his prison. He was the reason why he couldnʼt get rid of this manipulative, stupid, and broken piece of shit.

Despite all of this, he still loved his son. He just couldnʼt bear looking at him, which was why he rarely came home. Whenever he actually managed to convince himself to come home, he played some games with Kyle. Kyleʼs time with his father was usually fun, but it was like playing with a stranger. They barely had any physical contact.

That was how this current situation had come to be. As always, the father was gone, while the mother was killing time, doing nothing. She was busy experiencing her own mind and perception.

Kyleʼs father had tried to get her to quit by not supplying her anymore, but whenever he did, Kyleʼs mother went absolutely crazy. She was so out of control that someone even called the police. Fortunately, or unfortunately, they didnʼt notice the signs of drug use.

Seeing the police in front of his door terrified Kyleʼs father, and Kyleʼs mother found another weapon to use against him.

Kyle could also see his father with his Divine Consciousness. Right now, his father was recovering from his recent hookup with another prostitute.

Kyle could see their pasts, present, and to a certain extent, their futures.

ʼDeep inside, heʼs not a bad person,ʼ Kyle thought as he looked at his father. ʼThe issue is that heʼs too afraid of confronting problems. He knows what heʼs doing is wrong, but the unknown terrifies him. Heʼs disgusted with himself whenever he makes a deal, but he has convinced himself that thereʼs no other way. This is what he knows. He knows that he should find a way to be there for his son, but heʼs too afraid of confronting his girlfriend. He wants to change things, but his terror always wins out.ʼ

ʼIn the past, I believed that he simply didnʼt care about me, but thatʼs not the case. He actually cares for me deeply. Heʼs just too afraid to see me.ʼ

Kyle looked at his mother, who was still shouting at his younger self.

ʼSurprisingly, she also loves me deeply. The issue is how she views herself and how she views me. She knows that she wonʼt survive for much longer if she canʼt control her addiction. She wants to quit, but she has convinced herself that itʼs impossible.ʼ

ʼShe sees herself as a broken person. In her mind, everything she touches breaks into pieces. Thatʼs why she has been so angry whenever I made a mistake. She sees her own broken self in her child, and that terrifies her. She doesnʼt want her child to become as broken as she is. He can still make something of himself as long as he doesnʼt follow in her footsteps.ʼ

ʼThatʼs why sheʼs screaming at me. I broke something, which terrified and infuriated her. Sheʼs terrified for me and infuriated with herself. She walks over, and in her anger and altered state of mind, she desperately tries to stop me from making more mistakes.ʼ

ʼHer intentions are good, but her actions are horrible!ʼ

ʼBoth of my parents just wanted to improve their lives, but for some reason or another, they failed in doing so.ʼ

Kyle shook his head and sighed.
