Nine Dragons Saint Ancestor

Jade Pot Sect, Medical Pulse branch!

In a majestic great hall’s room, a number of people were standing around a bed, some with familiar faces, notably the many substantial Elders of the Jade Pot Sect, including prominent figures from the Poison Vein branch like Fu Du Mo Li.

However, at this moment, neither the Great Elder Lu Zhan from the Medical Pulse branch nor the Second Elder Fu Du of the Poison Vein branch were speaking. Their eyes were fixed unwaveringly on a figure in the front.

This figure was none other than the current Sect Leader of the Jade Pot Sect, Yu Shu. But at this moment, Yu Shu’s jade-like face bore a somber expression, his hands ceaselessly moving over someone on the bed, who showed no sign of response.

The red-faced elderly man on the bed was none other than the Fourth Elder of the Jade Pot Sect, Li Shan, a pivotal figure in the sect. Regrettably, he was now lying on the bed in a desolate state, trapped in some sort of special coma.

In fact, Li Shan had been unconscious for over a month, but during this time, both Lu Zhan and Fu Du had hoped to use their Meridian Refining Technique or the Poison Vein Skill, respectively, to awaken Li Shan.

Because both Lu Zhan and Fu Du knew, Sect Leader Yu Shu was in seclusion breaking through to the Earth Rank Third Realm, a situation that must not be disturbed, perhaps an even more significant matter for the Jade Pot Sect.

Yet, human life was paramount, and after both Lu Zhan and Fu Du found themselves helpless against the poison affecting Li Shan, they reported the matter with extreme caution to Sect Leader Yu Shu, who was in seclusion.

As the head of the sect, Yu Shu did not explode with rage upon being disturbed. Instead, he promptly arrived at Li Shan’s residence. Perhaps in his heart, breaking through to the Earth Rank Third Realm was less important than Elder Li Shan’s life.

Upon arriving and investigating Li Shan’s condition, Yu Shu’s heart sank, for he had never seen such a severe poison before.

Even though Yu Shu was a genuine Spirit-grade Advanced Pulse Refining Master, his Meridian Refining Technique ranked among the top in the entire Xuanyue Empire, yet he was not absolutely certain he could restore Li Shan to his former state.

Under such circumstances, Yu Shu attempted to intervene reluctantly, while the several high-ranking elders, who rarely saw the Sect Leader take action, all entered observation mode, hoping to learn something from Yu Shu’s techniques.

Undoubtedly, Yu Shu lived up to his reputation as a Spirit-grade Advanced Pulse Refining Master. His smooth, effortless techniques as he touched the major acupoints on Li Shan’s body left the other elders feeling inadequate.

Puff, puff, puff, puff, puff...

One after another, the primary acupoints on Li Shan’s chest and abdomen were touched by Yu Shu, and shortly after, a peculiar aura began to rise, indicating to the likes of Lu Zhan and Fu Du that the Sect Leader had executed a powerful Meridian Array.

On seeing this Meridian Array, Lu Zhan couldn’t help but ponder. During the outer sect competition, he had learned an Evil Exorcism Pulse Array from Yun Xiao, capable of expelling all poisons.

However, when Lu Zhan applied the Evil Exorcism Pulse Array to Elder Li Shan, he too found himself helpless against the severe poison, so upon witnessing Yu Shu’s actions, a sense of unease unfathomably arose within him.

”Sigh...”

Indeed, about half an hour later, as Yu Shu withdrew his hands and released a heavy sigh, all the elders could discern something amiss from the look on his face.

”It didn’t work, did it?”

Yu Shu’s troubled expression seemed to reveal the answer; without asking, everyone understood that not even the Sect Leader could neutralize the intense poison inside Li Shan.

”My Meridian Array can only extend Elder Li Shan’s life by three more days; beyond that, alas...”

Yu Shu calmly announced the outcome, but the faint sign of a sigh at the end made all the present elders feel an air of desolation.

Even Yu Shu was powerless, so who within the entire Xuanyue Empire could possibly have a more formidable Meridian Refining Technique? Perhaps others’ skills might not fall short of Yu Shu’s, but that would be no different from the current situation at best.

Furthermore, as implied by Yu Shu’s words, Li Shan’s life would last no more than three days. Where could they find someone with greater expertise in Meridian Refining Technique than the Sect Leader within such short notice?

At this moment, whether it was the Elders of the Medical Pulse branch like Lu Zhan or powerful figures from the Poison Vein branch like Fu Du, they all felt a sense of melancholy. After all, if the powerful Li Shan were to die, it would undoubtedly be a severe blow to the overall strength of the Jade Pot Sect.

”Perhaps... there might be someone who could give it a try!”

For some reason, an image of a lean and raggedly-dressed young boy suddenly popped into Lu Zhan’s mind. Grasping at straws, he unintentionally voiced his thoughts aloud.

Upon hearing this, the Fifth Elder Yan Chun frowned and said solemnly: ”Great Elder, don’t you think that’s a little absurd? If even the Sect Leader is at a loss against this deadly poison, who could solve it in such a short time?”

The branches of Medical Pulse and Poison Vein had never been on good terms. With this insinuated flattery towards the Sect Leader, Yan Chun managed to kill two birds with one stone, especially since he intrinsically doubted anyone could save Li Shan.

Regarding Yan Chun’s words, Lu Zhan had no mind to care at this moment. Right after he finished speaking, the voice of the Sixth Elder Su He resounded beside him: ”Great Elder, are you saying... Yun Xiao?”

It seemed that Yun Xiao had left a profound impression on Su He during the Outer Sect Competition. Especially for Medical Pulse Masters like them, Yun Xiao’s twice providing guidance to Lu Zhan and reviving Song Tian and Ling Wan were considered miraculous events.

Both individuals, Song Tian and Ling Wan, had been declared dead by the Great Elder due to critical injuries, and even more so, the Earth Rank poison that Ling Wan had been afflicted with was something even the Great Elder had never seen before.

Li Shan was certainly much stronger than Ling Wan, but his state of being poisoned and unconscious was very much similar. Therefore, at this moment, the figures of Yun Xiao emerged simultaneously in the minds of Lu Zhan and Su He.

”Both of you, this is no laughing matter. Yun Xiao may be strange, but his Meridian Refining Technique might not necessarily be stronger than Sect Leader’s, right?”

Even Fu Du couldn’t help but speak up now; in fact, he might be the one who understood Yun Xiao the best among all present. But for some reason, at this moment, he genuinely did not want the kid to steal the limelight.

”Is it that youngster?”

Sect Leader Yu Shu was slightly taken aback. To be honest, although he had taken Yun Xiao as his Direct Disciple, it was partly for certain items on the ninth floor of Jade Pot Cave and partly to ease the tensions between the Medical Pulse and Poison Vein, preventing them from fighting over Yun Xiao to the point of bloodshed and even brawling.

But Yu Shu’s understanding of Yun Xiao was actually quite one-sided, and much of what he knew was overheard from others. Hence, his knowledge of Yun Xiao’s special techniques was quite limited.

”Yun Xiao might not necessarily be stronger than Sect Leader, but do you have a better method now?”

Lu Zhan didn’t get angry at the words of Yan Chun and Fu Du. Turning his head, a glint of light flashed in his eyes, and these words seemed to lay bare the true situation at this moment.

According to Yu Shu, Li Shan could last for no more than three days. Once the time was up, even an immortal would find it hard to save him. Just as he said, perhaps their only option was to treat a dying horse as if it were alive.

”But it seems Yun Xiao has not returned to the Sect yet, can he make it back within these three days?”

Third Elder Mo Li’s eyes flashed with a sharp light. After a moment of contemplation, his words caused everyone to fall silent again. Because at this moment, Lu Zhan and Su He both realized that the method they had thought of just now was somewhat impractical.

The disciples of Jade Pot Sect that participated in the Meridian Treasure mission had returned to the Sect more than a month ago, all except Yun Xiao. Additionally, they had heard that the Xuanyue Empire had issued a warrant to capture Yun Xiao, the Great Thief who had stolen from the Royal Treasure.

Creak!

Just as everyone was lost in thought, the door to the room was abruptly pushed open from the outside, and a slender figure of a black-clothed young girl swiftly stepped in.

”Tea... Teacher, Yun Xiao... Yun Xiao has returned!”

The newcomer was none other than Mo Qing, the top genius girl of the Medical Pulse. For the past month, she had almost been guarding the entrance of Jade Pot Sect every day except for today when she had urgent matters to attend to.

Although Mo Qing did not wait for Yun Xiao’s return today, she had arranged for someone to keep watch. Thus, after she dealt with her urgent matters, she was the first to receive the message.

Knowing that her teachers were frantic over the deadly poison afflicting Li Shan for the past month, Mo Qing immediately came to report as soon as she received news of Yun Xiao’s return.

Mo Qing had always held much respect for Fourth Elder Li Shan, who had also taken good care of her within Jade Pot Sect. She couldn’t just watch as Li Shan succumbed to the poison.

For some inexplicable reason, Mo Qing felt that as long as Yun Xiao returned, he could save Li Shan. This wasn’t just because Yun Xiao was the first to suggest that Li Shan might have been poisoned; it was also a result of her blind trust in Yun Xiao.

”Where is he now?”

Hearing the sudden news from Mo Qing, everyone was stunned at first, but then joy appeared on Lu Zhan’s aged face as he hastily asked.

”He should be heading to the Inner Sect, I’ll go invite him over!” Mo Qing pondered for a moment before giving a guess, which was likely to be plausible.

”Let’s all go together, to make it clear how much we value him!”

Just as Mo Qing turned around, Sect Leader Yu Shu, seemingly struck by a thought, spoke, and the faces of the Elders turned somewhat curious at his words.

Of course, everyone was surprised. An Inner Sect Disciple of just the Meridian Rushing Realm level, even if Yun Xiao was a disciple of the Sect Leader, did not warrant such an honor to be met by the Sect Leader and several Elders in person.

”He he, he might have encountered some trouble. Let’s go help him out!”

Seeing everyone looking towards him, Yu Shu chuckled lightly, and his explanation made everyone even more puzzled - with them all present here, how did the Sect Leader already know Yun Xiao was in trouble?
