Nine Dragons Saint Ancestor

”Indeed!”

Talisman Poison Master wouldn’t care about Yun Xiao’s life or death. After extracting the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider, he pressed it against the boy’s wrist. This time, however, the situation was vastly different from before, prompting him to exclaim in a low voice.

Before, the venomous snake dared not even bite Yun Xiao’s skin, but this Seven-Colored Immortal Spider was eager to sink its fangs into Yun Xiao’s wrist the moment it made contact, greedily sucking his fresh blood.

In just an instant, the area around Yun Xiao’s wrist turned into a swirl of colors, clearly indicating that he had been poisoned by the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider, and the fierce poison was spreading towards his elbow and even his right shoulder.

After roughly the time it takes to burn half an incense stick, not only had Yun Xiao’s right arm become multicolored, but also a faint rainbow hue began to emerge on his face, a clear sign that the poison of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider had spread throughout his body. A typical cultivator at the Meridian Introduction Realm Middle Stage might have already perished.

However, Yun Xiao’s faint breath could still be heard, and this spectacle sparked a sliver of hope in the eyes of Talisman Poison Master and his disciple. If Yun Xiao really could withstand the intense poison of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider, then perhaps their plan could be put into action.

As Yun Xiao’s entire body was being ravaged by the poison of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider, his soul, cursing furiously within, suddenly discovered that the golden insect, which had been opposing him and vying for control of his body, seemed to be quite amused by something at this moment, relaxing its struggle against Yun Xiao’s soul slightly.

This undoubtedly provided a glimmer of relief to the extremely irate Yun Xiao who seized the opportunity to exert the Power of Soul, finally regaining some ground in the fight.

Moreover, Yun Xiao’s soul could see clearly that what attracted the golden insect was the invasive venom of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider. The insect seemed to have found a delectable feast and began to devour the venom.

However, compared to the poisons previously encountered, like the Five Poison Palm and the snake venom the Talisman Poison Master used at the Shang Family, this poison was in a league of its own. The golden insect wasn’t able to consume it as quickly.

But it was because of this golden insect that at least Yun Xiao’s body wouldn’t be reduced to a puddle of pus and blood by the poison of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider – a quite pleasing surprise to the onlooking Talisman Poison Master and his disciple.

Just how potent the venom of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider is may be well known to Talisman Poison Master and Yin Huan. A mere drop could kill a cultivator at the Meridian Introduction Realm Middle Stage in a few breaths.

Yet now, Yun Xiao had been bitten directly by the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider itself. The constant stream of venom flowed from the spider into Yun Xiao’s body, and he was able to endure it – an impossible feat.

The master and disciple exchanged glances, seeing strong delight in each other’s eyes. It seemed the chances of implementing their plan were greatly improved. Of course, that depended on whether Yun Xiao could truly survive the poison of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider.

Thud, thud!

At that moment, the doors of the grand hall were suddenly knocked upon. Then, a female voice rang out from outside: ”Second Elder, are you there? I’m coming in!”

Before Talisman Poison Master could respond or take any action, the doors were pushed open from the outside, revealing a beautiful girl dressed in black robes. Yet despite her stunning appearance, her face was as cold as ice, giving off an unwelcoming vibe.

Although the black-robed girl had knocked and announced herself, pushing the door open without permission was a great disrespect to Talisman Poison Master, the Second Elder of the Jade Pot Sect. Hence, the duo’s expressions immediately darkened.

However, upon recognizing the girl’s features, their expressions became even more downcast, unable to release their anger. Finally, Talisman Poison Master could only shout in fury: ”Mo Qing, you really have been abandoning all propriety! Do you even regard me as the Second Elder anymore?”

It turned out that the black-robed girl named Mo Qing was the top inner disciple of the Medical Pulse faction from the Jade Pot Sect, another major faction alongside the Poison Vein. Her teacher had an influence higher than that of Talisman Poison Master, being the Great Elder of the Jade Pot Sect, and a figure only second to the Sect Leader.

Under the duress of the forceful Sect Leader, the sect’s Poison Vein and Medical Pulse coexisted, despite their differing philosophies leading to much contention. And such disputes weren’t lacking among the younger generation.

As the head disciple of the Medical Pulse faction, Mo Qing had always disdained the sinister nature of the Poison Vein Masters. If her teacher hadn’t sent her here, she would have never set foot in the territory of the Poison Vein faction.

Unmoved by Talisman Poison Master’s outcry, Mo Qing’s expression changed the moment her eyes fell upon the young man on the ground, whose face was covered in a rainbow hue. She quickly stepped forward to Yun Xiao’s side.

”Second Elder, Yin Huan, how can you be so cruel as to test poison on a living person?”

Being a Meridian Refining prodigy, it was immediately apparent to Mo Qing that Yun Xiao had been struck with a potent poison, especially with the venomous Seven-Colored Immortal Spider still clinging tightly to his right wrist.

Shoo!

As Mo Qing’s cold shout fell, a glint of cold light flashed, and a sharp sword appeared in her hand, the motion of its slashing as quick as lightning, so fast that even Yin Huan barely caught a clear glimpse.

This sudden motion caught Fu Du somewhat off guard. By the time he realized what was happening, his prized Seven-Colored Immortal Spider, in the span of Mo Qing’s swipe, had been severed into two pieces and finally fell from Yun Xiao’s wrist.

”Mo Qing, you’ve got some nerve, daring to destroy my precious spider!”

Seeing this, Fu Du finally snapped out of it. As he looked at the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider on the ground, split into two and still struggling, his heart ached immensely, and with a darkened face he yelled, ”Even though your teacher is the Great Elder of the sect, you impudent girl are too arrogant. I must teach you a lesson on behalf of your teacher today!”

Little did Fu Du know, as his furious words came to a close, he was met with an even more furious countenance. He heard Mo Qing coldly retort, ”Second Elder, although the Sect Leader lets your Poison Vein faction act as you please, surely he wouldn’t allow you to use living people for such deadly poison testing, right? Guess what he would do if the Sect Leader found out about this?”

The reason for Mo Qing’s anger was that she had already sensed the lethal poison of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider in Yun Xiao’s body had reached his heart and brain. Even if her teacher, a Meridian Refining Master of Spiritual Rank Intermediate, or even the Sect Leader himself intervened, it was likely too late to save him.

Mo Qing had always heard of Fu Du using living people to test poisons, but had never witnessed it. Yet today, right before her eyes, a vibrant young man was poisoned to death. The shock of such a sight was enormous to them, the Medical Pulse Masters.

As Mo Qing stated, while the Jade Pot Sect tolerated both poison and healing arts, such atrocious and unreasonable acts of abducting people to test deadly poisons, resulting in a wretched death, could not be openly acknowledged.

Perhaps the Sect Leader was already well aware of Fu Du’s ruthlessness, but had always turned a blind eye. The Poison Vein faction was one of Jade Pot Sect’s main deterrent forces, and he had no desire to deeply offend these High Rank Poison Vein Masters.

Yet, once Mo Qing brought the issue out into the open, the Sect Leader could no longer deal with it privately. After all, Fu Du’s actions, which affronted the heavens, might bring great trouble to the entire Jade Pot Sect if made known to other sects.

It was upon considering this possibility that Fu Du’s raised palm slowly lowered. Although it pained him to see his Seven-Colored Immortal Spider cleaved in half by Mo Qing, he had to compromise for the time being.

”Mo Qing, it seems you’ve misunderstood. This young man was beyond salvation due to severe poisoning, so I brought him back to see if the method of fighting poison with poison could save his life. Now it seems that it was simply his fate!” Fu Du quickly concocted a reason that appeared somewhat logical, but Mo Qing wasn’t so easily fooled. Such excuses might deceive a child, but not her.

However, when Mo Qing glanced at Yun Xiao’s face, where the colors of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider still swirled, she sighed and let go, knowing that no matter how much they argued, the young man wasn’t likely to live. With his brain poisoned, even a great Immortal would find it hard to save him.

Plus, Mo Qing knew that Fu Du was a pivotal figure in the Poison Vein lineage. Stirring up trouble now would inevitably provoke a confrontation between the poison and healing arts within the Jade Pot Sect, something the Sect Leader definitely did not want to see.

”Humph, evildoers will eventually be punished by heaven. You should take heed!”

With a cold huff, Mo Qing seemed uninterested in staying longer, and as she turned to leave, a voice transmitted: ”The Sect Leader has issued an order. The selection event for the Jade Pot Sect’s Outer Disciples is imminent; you are commanded to immediately head to Yulan Hall to discuss the matter.”

As the young girl’s voice fell, her figure vanished at the doorway, leaving behind the teacher and student with gloomy expressions, who remained silent for a long while, seemingly very upset by Mo Qing’s actions just moments ago.

”This damn girl is getting more and more insolent!” It wasn’t until Mo Qing was long gone that Yin Huan let out a resentful utterance, tinged with frustration but also helplessness.

”Humph, isn’t it all because you boys are incompetent? Who else can you blame?”

Fu Du glared at Yin Huan, clearly disappointed, but as if suddenly remembering something, he chuckled and added, ”Heh, just wait for your senior brother to return. Then, this brat Mo Qing might find her position as the number one of the Jade Pot Sect’s younger generation slipping.”

”Senior Brother...”

Hearing this, Yin Huan gasped, having a deep apprehension for his senior brother, whose mastery of the Meridian Poisoning Technique far exceeded his own. He also knew that his senior brother’s temperament was not too different from his teacher’s; even fellow sect disciples would face a grim fate if they angered him.

”Alright, guard this boy. I’m off to Yulan Hall for the meeting!” Fu Du turned to glance at Yun Xiao, whose face still bore the seven colors, and with a pained look at the two halves of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider for a moment, he finally clenched his teeth and exited the hall.
