Nine Dragons Saint Ancestor

Time swiftly passed by, and a month flew by in no time.

Swoosh!

One day, within the manor of the Shang Family, a sudden sound of cutting wind arose, and then, out of nowhere, an elder with completely white hair and beard appeared in the sky.

Strangely enough, when the elder appeared, the two cultivators in black garments who had been standing guard in front of the rockery seemed to turn a blind eye, completely unseeing of the elder’s presence.

This white-haired elder sensed a faint scent of blood lingering within the Shang Family’s manor, lightly furrowing his brow, but with his status, he chose not to concern himself with such trifles. With just a thought, his figure was already in front of the rockery.

It is worth mentioning that even at such a close distance, the two cultivators guarding tens of meters away from the rockery appeared not to see the elder at all, and did not even stir.

The white-haired elder paid no heed to the two cultivators. When he appeared in front of the rockery, his brow furrowed even more tightly, and he muttered to himself, ”Strange, why can’t I sense anything?”

Swoosh!

Another sound of breaking wind was heard, and the white-haired elder’s figure suddenly vanished. Only then did the two distant cultivators somewhat puzzledly turn back and glance at the rockery, yet they saw nothing.

”Brother Shen, did you hear any strange sounds?” one cultivator, seemingly shrinking his neck, asked with a puzzled expression.

”You felt that too?” The other cultivator’s expression changed slightly, then looked back at the rockery with lingering fear, saying, ”Could it be that those poisonous snakes are about to come out again?”

With these words, the cultivator surnamed Shen’s figure trembled, and then both cultivators tacitly moved back several meters, feeling slightly safer.

...

Inside the Snake Nest Cave.

Yun Xiao remained unconscious, and for unknown reasons, he had been unconscious for an entire month, which was almost incomprehensible.

At this moment by Yun Xiao’s side, there suddenly appeared an elder with completely white hair and beard, making one wonder how he managed to instantly reach here through the narrow cave passage.

Of course, these were not important. What was important was that the moment this white-haired elder entered and sensed a certain aura, his expression turned extremely angry, as if he had stumbled upon something utterly unacceptable.

”Why? Why has it come to this?”

A low voice filled with rage emanated from the elder, revealing the extreme unrest in his heart. His gaze intensely fixed on the sleeping Yun Xiao, as if his eyes were about to shoot flames.

”It’s been a thousand years. Back then when I discovered this Golden Dragon Egg, fearing it would draw the attention of those old fellows, I hid it in the most inconspicuous Hidden Dragon Continent, anticipating that the dragon egg would soon hatch these days. I hurried to this Lower Realm only to find out that this brat reaped the benefits!”

The white-haired elder, overcome with rage, laughed mockingly, and as he spoke, it seemed that the Golden Snake Worm that Yun Xiao had unknowingly absorbed into his body was something he had left behind a millennium ago. What a twist of fate.

”Hmph, a mere insect at the middle stage of the Meridian Introduction Realm, daring to possess such a divine object, it’s a complete joke!” The white-haired elder was evidently enraged, growing angrier as he spoke, and soon, an invisible aura began to swirl around him, with a hint of killing intent flashing in his eyes.

A thousand-year plan, scooped by someone, and not just anyone, but an insignificant insect from the Hidden Dragon Continent; naturally, the elder harbored thoughts of killing. And with his status, killing Yun Xiao, a lower-tier cultivator, wouldn’t weigh on him at all.

”Hm?”

Just as the white-haired elder was about to strike Yun Xiao into a blood mist with a palm, Yun Xiao, who was lying on the ground, suddenly turned over; his right hand which had been on his abdomen, flipped over at this moment revealing a blood-red crescent-shaped mark.

”This is...this is...Blood Moon Jade?”

The white-haired elder’s eyes sharpened, and the anger from before instantly vanished, replaced by a thick disbelief. He muttered, ”Could this kid be from the ’Moon God Palace’? But...how is that possible? This is the Hidden Dragon Continent!”

The puzzled white-haired elder’s aura and killing intent had significantly diminished, and numerous questions flooded into his mind; when one piece of information was pulled from the depths of his memory, he seemed to start understanding the cause and effect.

”Could that rumor be true?” Thinking of a certain possibility, the confusion in the elder’s eyes dissipated a lot, yet thinking that the object he planned for a thousand years was taken by this mid-level Meridian Introduction Realm kid, he felt somewhat unwilling.

”Let it be, let it be, if it’s really so, perhaps it’s the will of heaven, and the mandate of heaven cannot be defied. After all, even if I kill this kid, I won’t be able to retrieve the Golden Dragon, so I might as well let you benefit from this!” After wavering for a long time in his heart, the white-haired elder finally glared deeply at Yun Xiao and abandoned his murderous intent.

After the murderous intent faded, the white-haired elder scrutinized Yun Xiao more carefully, and upon sensing something, a faint smile appeared on his face.

”This youngster’s cultivation may not amount to much, but his Soul power is truly remarkable—how can this be?” Clearly the white-haired elder was no ordinary observer; even though Yun Xiao was unconscious, he immediately sensed the latter’s extraordinary Soul power.

Yun Xiao, having reincarnated as the spirit of Long Xiao Battle God, while such Soul power might not be particularly impressive in the elder’s eyes, its existence in a young person from the Hidden Dragon Continent at merely the middle stage of the Channel Introduction Realm was bizarrely anomalous.

”It seems, young man, that you indeed have some connection with the Moon God Palace!” Unable to make sense of it, the elder finally attributed it to a conjecture in his mind and chose not to think further.

”I’ve heard that the Moon God Palace and the Star-picking Tower have been at each other’s throats lately; I wonder if the small families of the Hidden Dragon Continent have suffered collaterally?” Although the elder came directly here, he witnessed the bloody massacre that had happened outside and couldn’t help but speculate a lot.

However, the next moment, the white-haired elder ceased to think about these irrelevant matters. His sole purpose for descending to the lower realm was to obtain the object absorbed by Yun Xiao into his body, and since his plan had failed, he naturally did not want to linger here any longer.

”Young man, having received my Golden Dragon, should you one day soar into the skies of the Hidden Dragon, do not forget the favor I have done for you today!” As the white-haired elder’s voice faded, he took a deep look at the unconscious Yun Xiao on the ground, then his entire figure vanished deep within the Snake Nest.

Swoosh!

Outside the artificial mountain, the figure of the white-haired elder suddenly appeared; the two cultivators in the far distance felt nothing at all. Furthermore, fearing the possibility of more venomous snakes emerging from inside the artificial mountain, they hardly dared to even glance in that direction.

”Ah? This girl...”

However, just as the white-haired elder was about to leave, his gaze suddenly sharpened, turning towards a still, graceful figure beside the artificial mountain.

This figure was naturally Yun Wei, Yun Xiao’s elder sister. She had been injured by a tall and thin elder’s strike and had fallen unconscious even before those venomous snakes appeared, fortuitously evading disaster.

But Yun Wei was gravely injured and had been in a coma for over a month. If no one came to her rescue, she might truly perish.

It must be said that Yun Wei was quite fortunate, as even any strong cultivator from the Hidden Dragon Continent might dismiss her as a corpse unworthy of attention.

Yet this extremely mysterious white-haired elder, not from the Hidden Dragon Continent but from a higher plane, could sense Yun Wei’s extremely faint aura very clearly.

And from inside Yun Wei’s body, the white-haired elder sensed an extraordinary aura, an extreme coldness belonging to Yun Wei’s Ancestor Vein, which intrigued him toward this nearly lifeless girl.

”It’s strange, what’s with me today? I used to think only of killing, but now I keep saving people?” The white-haired elder muttered under his breath, then with a wave of his robe, in the same instant, both he and Yun Wei’s body vanished from sight.

The two black-robed cultivators in the distance had not noticed what had transpired here, nor did they know that a body had disappeared from within the artificial mountain, they were merely fearful of another attack by those venomous snakes. Preserving their lives was the most important thing.

...

Lingtian Empire, Lingyun City!

This was a large city belonging to another empire of the Hidden Dragon Continent, far distant from Shang Family’s Moon Bow City.

Lingyun City housed a very powerful sect called Lingyun Sect, and the city’s name was derived from the sect established here.

Inside a grand hall deep within Lingyun Sect, stood a figure who looked not elderly but whose beard and hair were half black and half white, this person was the current Sect Master of Lingyun Sect: Xu Lingsong!

And standing below Xu Lingsong was a young woman in light red gown, extremely beautiful, her hair slightly lifted, grace and elegance evident in her demeanor, truly a rare beauty in the world.

”Father, during my time away for training, I heard a piece of news, I am not sure if it’s true?”

The young woman in the red gown raised her head, looking towards Xu Lingsong who stood above, prompting a sharp focus in his eyes as if guessing what his daughter wanted to inquire about.

”Hongzhuang, if you are asking about the incident that occurred with the Shang Family in Moon Bow City, then your father can tell you, it’s indeed true!” Xu Lingsong did not keep her in suspense and directly answered her.

Hearing this, Xu Hongzhuang shivered slightly, her complexion turning a bit pale, she stammered: ”The entire Shang Family was annihilated, no one survived, then he— he—”

”Alas, it was the Shang Family’s fate to encounter this disaster. Yun Xiao... Yun Xiao and his mother and siblings, I fear they all perished in that conflict!” A flash of unusual light passed through Xu Lingsong’s eyes, but he sighed, seemingly feeling genuine regret.

Receiving the most dreadful answer in her heart, Xu Hongzhuang’s body shook even more violently. Seeing his daughter in such a state, Xu Lingsong felt slightly reluctant and strode forward to pat her shoulder, offering her comfort.
