Chapter 316: Chapter 193: 2nd Challenge in Jiangzhou City! Duo Dungeon Run! (Requesting Votes)

After chatting with the disciples in the Ascension Gate for a while, Yuchi left feeling satisfied. Since the last upgrade to the Ascension Gate, Yuchi hasn’t had many Dao points in hand. Fortunately, his big brother washed out a bit of silver for him over the past month, and then... that silver was instantly spent by the four disciples.

The family treasury is about to run dry, so when Yuchi returned to his bedroom, he fell into a small bout of planning and calculation.

”Originally, I planned to find an opportunity to return to the Ascension Gate, accumulate some silver, purchase seeds, and then set up a medicine garden at the back of the Ascension Gate. This way, the disciples could go to the medicine garden and plant herbs when they’re free. Once the herbs mature, I could sell them, which would be a little extra income for the household.”

”But ultimately, this plan isn’t feasible yet. The main reason is still the lack of silver; I don’t even have the opportunity to buy the herbal seeds. Even though I made a killing in Jiangzhou City before, the silver and Spirit Stones at the time have already been exchanged. What remains are some troublesome silver notes, which were borrowed from the casino.”

”Silver notes themselves have no value; it’s the silver behind them that has value. Only by exchanging the silver notes for silver can I use them. But even though the Wei Family’s business is quite big and my big brother helps clear the aura off these silver notes, the speed can’t be quickened. At most, it’s ten thousand taels per month, but I have over three hundred thousand taels with my big brother.”

Over three hundred thousand taels, washing them without pause every month would take at least three years.

So these silver notes are like a lifetime’s supply for me, my whole life I could play with wild ideas and forever use them up. But the Ascension Gate is like a hungry baby, the monthly consumption of silver is quite thrilling.

Currently, every month I make a trip back to the Ascension Gate.

Qinghan, Feiling, and Dongran themselves don’t have much cultivation, five hundred taels of silver per month is enough, but for Miss Shanlan, if I want to take good care of her, then she needs at least two thousand taels per month. Altogether, that’s at least twenty-five hundred taels.

”Hiss!”

”Two thousand five hundred taels... I, honest old Yuchi, eat and drink for a month, at most cost two taels of silver, even when living lavishly, and just these four cultivators cost two thousand five hundred taels a month. My kidneys could grow infinitely long, continually selling them wouldn’t raise enough to support them.”

The knife used for cutting kidneys has become refined from all the blood sucking.

”Then over the next three years, I could receive ten thousand taels per month from my big brother. Still, it seems there could be about seven thousand left over, but does that mean no cultivation techniques or other elixirs, Blessed Land for the disciples? Once it really comes to buying Blessed Land or techniques, it could instantly wipe me out.”

”Not to mention, Qingzhu has been by my side for several months, she has gradually improved a lot. By next year, the one-year agreement ends, and she should be able to cultivate well. And during next year, I might find more sect disciples. As the number of disciples grows, the sect will open more pavilions, and the silver spent would flow like water.”

So, silver is never too much for the Ascension Gate; the more Dao points, the more secure it feels. Therefore, the Ascension Gate still needs to take advantage of the sect competition to scoop up some silver.

By June 6th of next year, about seven months from now.

After registering, based on my disciples’ cultivation speed, I can certainly harvest a good crop of big leeks after a hundred years, which could lay a small foundation for a century later. Likewise, such a large-scale competition might even attract other decent disciples to nurture, which would actually be a great opportunity.

”Therefore, I need to participate in the sect competition, and to do that, I need to accomplish two things.”

Pacing the room, Yuchi pondered.

”First, I must register the Ascension Gate, at least make it formal. The difficulty of this is not huge, but if it really becomes tricky, encountering unpleasant situations, if others take it upon themselves to come verify and assess my Ascension Gate, that would be quite annoying. That’s my backyard, what are these lazy fish running over there for?”

Not sure if there are middlemen in this world, if it’s mandatory to go to the Ascension Gate in person for verification, then I’ll find a middleman to handle it and pay them. After all, the Ascension Gate doesn’t want to be known by everyone so early.

Furthermore, if the government knew of this matter, and on some day suddenly speculates that Yuchi is the Sect Leader of the Ascension Gate, I wouldn’t even get a break. Many business-related things would instantly become irregular; if the government comes with a wary eye in the future, regarding the development of commerce or the expansion of the Wei Family, many things wouldn’t be as amiable as they are now, where I am simply a reasonable mortal.

”No way, although if they’re aware one day that I excel in Dual Cultivation, it’s really cool, or if Yinghan knows I’m the Sect Leader of the Ascension Gate, it’s quite dignified, but I still need to keep the big picture in mind.”

”Unless the Ascension Gate never needs the silver from the common people for sustenance or needs normal business help, otherwise the Ascension Gate can’t be linked to the honest me. I’m just an ordinary, fun-loving mortal association president; who would have enmity towards an honest, law-abiding association president?”
