Inheriting A Divine Cultivation Clan At The Start, All My Juniors Are Empresses

Chapter 315: Chapter 192: Sect Competition! Cultivator’s Encounter!_6

For gold and silver!

Do these two actually believe the Cultivator sect in front of them is legitimate? Only a fool would believe that!

If they didn’t know about the registration process before, that’s one thing, ignorance mitigates punishment. But now, knowing it, they fear nothing.

Why worry?

Are there connections within the government?

That’s impossible.

The sect and the government are obviously at odds. The government keeps the sects under its thumb. Despite being powerful, the sects inherently don’t want to antagonize the government, it’s impossible for sects and the government to be on good terms.

The male cultivator still said, ”To answer the elder’s question, the grand sect competition lasts a century, but it’s not continuous fighting. It’s split into four events, with one every thirty-three years.”

”Therefore, if elders wish to sign up for the competition, they just need to pay attention to the rules, which are very simple.”

”It’s a contest within the same realm, designed to find the person with the most talent and strength in that realm.”

This male disciple went on and rambled a lot.

Yuchi understood.

Taking Shen Qinghan as an example, she can represent the Ascension Gate in the competition. Qinghan’s current level is the third level of the Qi Refining Stage, so her opponents will also be at the third level of the Qi Refining Stage.

After the first match, regardless of win or loss, thirty-three years later, her strength will be assessed again—perhaps she’ll be at the third level of Foundation Establishment, then she will battle with all disciples at the third level of Foundation Establishment. Another thirty-three years go by, maybe she’ll reach the ninth level, then she will battle with all disciples at the ninth level of Foundation Establishment.

When the four matches, including the first one, spanning a hundred years are over, that’s the time for final evaluation.

It’s a comprehensive assessment considering her cultivation progress over the years and her records of victories, resulting in rewards for her and the sect behind her.

”Cultivation progress” is primary, ”victories” are secondary. This encourages sect leaders to nurture their excellent disciples and avoid inferior coins displacing good currency.

”Smart.” Yuchi praised after hearing this.

In today’s world, sects are really mercenary, exploiting their disciples to help sect leaders make money. Without proper guidance, it’s just a matter of which sect can exploit disciples the most—eventually the cultivation realm will collapse, leaving everyone weak except for a few top sect leaders.

This won’t do.

There comes this grand competition with huge rewards; it demands that a sect not solely focus on making money, but also needs to nurture their talented disciples. If an excellent disciple earns a good ranking, first, the sect benefits greatly, second, disciples are satisfied, third, the sect gains more fame.

With fame, the sect doesn’t have to seek disciples, rather disciples will seek the sect, forming a positive cycle.

”Being powerful now isn’t important, we need to see your ability to cultivate disciples, and see how your sect treats them, rather than who the strongest person in your sect is. How does that strongest person concern us? That’s of no use. It’s about the future, not the present.”

Yuchi felt a bit touched, realizing there are still good systems in such times. Even sects understand that one or two individuals climbing to the top of the cultivation realm rankings are pointless; nurturing the next generation is essential, otherwise, when these old guys are gone, left unchecked, the realm will be devastated.

If monsters return, relying on just one or two people would mean collapsing instantly. Moreover, the sect leader isn’t necessarily the most talented but is definitely the most cunning.

”I think so too.” Yuchi looked at his hands.

He’s definitely not the most talented one, but arguably the most cunning one in the Ascension Gate, the best at making money. He could pour all resources into himself, buying elixirs to increase talent and slowly elevate himself, but that’s shortsighted.

Cultivating talent is very important, don’t wait until monsters arrive to be afraid.

”Strengthening myself is human nature’s selfishness, any fault in it? Only capital’s short-sightedness can be blamed. But if more people are empowered, the ability to bear risks will be much stronger, otherwise facing monster invasions, depending on one or two runners around? Best just to empower more people, making things more stable.”

Thinking of this.

Yuchi truly realized why he didn’t seek disciples for three months upon arriving in this world, not due to inability to find them, but because he was pulling low talent from the pool, thinking disciple cultivation while he himself is weak as a burden.

No way to cultivate himself, this contradicts his inherent cultivation beliefs.

Gradually noticing his juniors’ bright smiles, he found... Hey, this nurturing is really interesting.

Now.

He felt a sense of responsibility, to not mention whether monsters will invade, but even if they don’t, can the world remain unchanged?

One day, if heaven cracks, bringing strong foes, definitely not just one or two can resist them, heroism is captivating but not a long-term strategy.

Strong disciples make a strong sect.

Weak disciples make a weak sect.

”So, the Ascension Gate is about this principle.”

Yuchi thought he should care more for his disciples, at least slowing down a bit when they furrow their brows in pain, anxious for them to cultivate, which they may not handle well.

Xun Xian: He is indeed an old pervert!

Haha, laughs aside, Yuchi added, ”When is the sect grand competition?”

”Next year’s June 6th.”

”Alright.”

Yuchi tossed two small boxes to the concerned outsiders and casually said amid their confusion, ”Although your actions were abrupt, they still contributed. Here are two elixirs, take them, but think about your own lives, avoid doing anything foolish.”

Can these two disciples say anything? Certainly not!

Is this what a master is like? Such insight! Thinking of trying to get elixirs from the sect, it’s like digging them out of an elder’s flower bed, with elder’s countless difficulties! But... the sect leader just gives them away like this?! A glance shows they’re Foundation Establishment Pills!

”May the sect leader live eternally, blessed like the East Sea, and long as the Southern Mountains!”

”Alright, off you go.”

Yuchi waved his hand.

”Yes!”

The two disciples lifted off the ground, grabbing their swords, joyfully speeding away.

This is truly an encounter!

An encounter indeed!

”I told you, when running into such a sect, take a look, might meet some master!”

”Yes, for us, this is truly an encounter!”
