The SSS-rank Guide Doesn't Need Saving

It was time to accept it.

There was no need to deny it anymore.

Somehow, and for some unknown reason, she ended up in this world after dying. Whether it was crashing against the wall with a beat-down truck or the mutation had already eaten her existence away, either way, she should be on her way to greet the Grim Reaper.

Instead, she was in this world.

She had tried everything she could to go back to her world. More precisely, to die again and correct this mistake. But even that failed, and now, she was plagued by the memories of someone she didn’t even know.

That’s right.

After she lost consciousness, some of this body’s memories returned. There were still a lot of them missing, and time could only tell when they would return, but she could already guess what had happened before she woke up.

Aisha Novalis. This was the name this body owned.

A young eighteen years old girl with a rather disturbing past. As the middle child and only daughter of the wealthy space merchant trader Novalis family, Aisha was extremely pampered and spoiled. Whatever she wanted, her parents would give it to her without fail. Her brothers would always cater to her and protect her.

Her early years in life were abundantly filled with peace and love.

That was until her parents decided to have another child. The youngest, another girl, was born. Having another girl in the family brought the Novalis family great joy. Aisha was also overjoyed by this, thinking she had a new sister and best friend.

But Aisha learned a cruel truth.

It turns out that she was not born to her parents, but is an adopted child.

What can an adoptive child possibly have as an advantage over a biological one?

Nothing.

For the following years, Aisha despaired over this truth. She became wary and suspicious of her family, wondering when they would abandon her. And the initial love and joy she felt for having a younger sister turned into envy and hatred.

Since then, Aisha looked at her younger sister like a thorn. And as if that wasn’t enough to make her depressed, she manifested her guiding ability at the same time as her.

Aisha got the lowest and weakest guide rank. A D-rank with a purification rate of 29 percent—barely an acceptable rate for a guide.

On the other hand, Irene, her younger sister, received a high rank of S-rank with a purification rate of 78%. A highly sought-after guide that the Ivory Tower of Guides personally wanted to nurture as one of this planet’s greatest guides.

”But that happened two months ago,” Aisha mumbled, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

If Aisha Novalis had truly wanted to take her life because of that reason, her timely arrival and awakening in this world would have been too late.

Rather, she should’ve woken in another body, if not in Aisha’s rotting corpse.

But that didn’t happen.

According to this body’s memory, Aisha wanted to take her own life not because of her ridiculously low rank, but because of the news that Prince Soren wanted to break off their engagement.

For someone like Aisha, who was desperate for love and wanted someone she could call her own, her fiancé’s announcement not only broke her heart. It drove her insane.

Hence, why Aisha was now admitted to the hospital.

”Miss?” A soft voice spoke from behind the door. They sounded almost afraid of waking her up, but they had no choice but to do it anyway. ”Can I come in?”

Aisha glanced at the door once and sighed. Scanning through another person’s memories was a headache. Too much information and images to get through and understand.

”Come in,” she softly called out.

A young girl, barely sixteen, walked in. Her figure was short, her features gentle, and her presence so weak that if someone were to stand beside her, they wouldn’t even take notice of her.

Seeing her mistress awake and sitting on the bed, the young girl hesitated for a moment before finally making up her mind.

Just as she was about to speak, the person on the bed spoke first.

”Daisy, is it the prince who has come to visit again?”

The word ’visit’ was particularly emphasized, and Daisy could even hear the sarcasm in it. In truth, although the prince came, it wasn’t to express his concern for the woman confined in the hospital.

”Yes... yes... Miss, the prince has come to see you again.” Daisy broke out in a cold sweat.

It has been a week since Miss Aisha Novalis was admitted to the hospital. She took her own life and was fortunately saved. However, no one was relieved or overjoyed by this. Rather, a lot of people were dismayed that Aisha survived.

Daisy still remembered the day Aisha hanged herself in her room. She had knelt beside her legs, screaming for help. But no one heard her; they were busily celebrating the youngest miss’s birthday.

Fortunately, the family butler came to check the eldest miss and found them on time.

However, because of that incident, people looked at Aisha even more unfavourably. They thought she was causing drama once again and ruined such a special day.

Everyone else doubted the credibility of what happened. But Daisy knew that her young miss’s heart stopped beating for a couple of minutes. It was a miracle she was even alive.

In the following days, even when Aisha awoke and jumped from the window, no one came to see her. She heard no one came to see her. It was Daisy, who was finally granted a leave, who hurriedly went to look after and care for Aisha.

And three days ago, someone else came looking for her.

It was Prince Soren Valerius, Aisha’s fiancé.

He came demanding that their engagement be annulled.
