Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1872: Liu Qingyu’s Mind And Wish

Zhang Fei stood beside the Celestial Spring Pool with his hands crossed behind his hips, thinking about his future.

It had been seven and a half months since the system had been inactive due to the upgrade process, and he still had to wait about four and a half months for it to end.

He couldn’t wait for the process to end, and he wanted to know the new features after the system upgraded to level ten. However, there was one thing that was bothering him, especially the beast races.

”What are you thinking, Husband?” Liu Qingyu asked, standing beside Zhang Fei.

”I’m thinking about our future, Qingyu.” Zhang Fei hugged her waist and briefly kissed her. ”In the past, I was more inclined towards my demon side than my human or beast side, so I thought of turning all of you into demons. However, not all of you were interested in becoming demons, and some of you ended up turning into beasts.”

Liu Qingyu leaned her head on his shoulder. ”Are you thinking of turning us into beasts now, Husband?”

”Yes,” Zhang Fei nodded. ”After all, beasts have stronger physiques than humans, right? If you guys transform into beasts, your physiques will become stronger.”

”Besides having stronger physiques, beasts also have longer lifespans than humans.” Liu Qingyu nodded in agreement. ”With our current cultivation level, we can live for over ten million years. Our lifespans will continue to increase as our cultivation improves, but we feel that it’s not enough. After all, we’re different from you, and we don’t have all your advantages. We don’t have the confidence to reach the Three God Realms, let alone the Exalt Supreme Realm.”

Zhang Fei hummed softly. ”All of you are my wives, so I want you guys to stay by my side forever. That’s why I’m thinking of turning the rest of you into beasts, but I won’t use random beasts for you, and you must transform into beasts that can evolve into immortal-rank beasts.”

”Even if we transform into beasts with the ability to evolve to immortal rank, we will never become immortal, right?”

”Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about it.” Zhang Fei sighed regretfully. ”Even if I become the ten-tailed fox in the future, I still won’t be immortal because immortality doesn’t exist. Even if immortality doesn’t exist, we can still live for hundreds of millions or even billions of years, and I think that’s enough for us.”

”Haha,” Liu Qingyu softly laughed. ”If we can live that long, we might be able to see our descendants for hundreds of generations to come.”

Zhang Fei turned to her with a smile. ”Isn’t that great?”

”That’s certainly good, but it will get boring, and I don’t want that.”

”Why?”

”Honestly, I feel that longevity and immortality are a curse, husband.”

”A curse?”

Liu Qingyu nodded. ”Before I met you, I never knew about cultivation above the Ten Mortal Realms, but everything changed after your sudden appearance in the Chu Clan. After that day, I slowly got to know the existence of other realms, the Seven Divine Realms, the Five Celestial Realms, the Three God Realms, and the Exalt Supreme Realm.”

”I would have never known about all that either if it wasn’t for Feng Yao.” Zhang Fei’s expression turned mellow. ”After all, I used to be an Earthling, and people on Earth had no knowledge about cultivation and the like. Many of them wrote stories about immortality, but those stories were just fictional stories based on their fantasies. However, my life changed after that young girl accidentally killed me and brought me back to life, which became the starting point in my new life. After that, I went to the Sky Jade, and I met you and your two daughters there.”

”Back then, you were a naughty little fox, you know? You did that kind of thing to Ying’er, and you also seduced me even though you knew that I already had a husband.” Zhang Fei showed off his white teeth at Liu Qingyu. ”After we had sex for the first time, I felt guilty towards the late Chu Hong, but I couldn’t stop myself. In the end, he disappeared without a trace, and he suddenly died without clarity. I couldn’t even find his corpse, and I couldn’t give him a proper burial back then.”

Zhang Fei embraced her. ”Let’s not talk about the past anymore because it’s all in the past.”

”Mhmm,” Liu Qingyue nodded. ”I never thought about longevity and immortality, and I was ready to accept death when my lifespan was up. I thought that kind of life was the best, but circumstances have changed, and I will live for tens of millions of years with my current cultivation.”

Zhang Fei stared into her eyes. ”Do you prefer that kind of life to longevity?”

”Yes,” Liu Qingyu nodded earnestly. ”As I said before, longevity is a curse. My cultivation is quite high, but I was able to reach this stage not because of my own efforts, and you continue to help me improve it. However—”

”Why are you hesitating? You can continue your words, and I will listen to you.”

Liu Qingyu sighed and faced him. ”Husband, my cultivation has improved so quickly because of you, but will our children be able to do the same in the future?”

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei raised an eyebrow. ”Even if I help our children, their cultivation may not progress as fast as ours. There are many geniuses out there, but they don’t have my advantages, and they won’t be able to help our children like I help you all.”

”See?” Liu Qingyu sighed again. ”Do you know the sadness of a parent?”

Zhang Fei thought for a moment. ”I may not be a father yet, but I know a few things about it. There are many sorrows for parents, and one of them is seeing our children or descendants die before us.”

”That’s right.” Liu Qingyu nodded. ”Before I met you, I was always worried that my three daughters would die before me. They were my treasures, and I would be sad and miserable if they died before me. Even though I tried hard not to think about it, I couldn’t stop myself from thinking about it, and that feeling grew stronger as my cultivation improved.”

”Qingyu, you—”

”Husband, you don’t want to have children yet because of the various problems ahead of you; my sisters and I can understand that.” Liu Qingyu paused and stared into his eyes. ”If we have children when our cultivation levels are already too high, they will be left far behind us. We might be able to protect them, but we can’t possibly stay by their side forever; they must venture out into the world to gain experience.”

”Yes,” Zhang Fei nodded in agreement.

”If our children venture out into the world, they will face many dangers, and we cannot possibly protect them forever.” Zhang Fei sighed inwardly, knowing Liu Qingyu’s train of thought. ”We harbored hopes of having children with you sooner, so we could help them in many ways before our cultivations became too high. That way, they could protect themselves when we were not by their side, and we wouldn’t see our children die before us.”

Zhang Fei pulled her closer. ”I understand your wishes, but I’m really not ready to be a father. For now, let me think about this matter and prepare myself, and I’ll impregnate all of you when I’m truly ready.”

”Alright.” Liu Qingyu only wanted to convey her thoughts, and she did not want to press Zhang Fei on the matter. ”Are we going into seclusion after this?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei nodded. ”The matters in the Paradise Realm have almost been resolved, and my only remaining enemy there is Qian Yan. I’m not confident enough to face him yet, and I’ll face him after we finish our seclusion.”

”How long?”

”Ten years maybe.”

”Are you confident you can defeat Qian Yan by then?”

”I don’t know.”

”The last time your cultivation broke through to the Celestial Emperor Realm, it took you almost ten years, right?”

”Yes,” Zhang Fei exhaled softly. ”My cultivation is still far from the later minor stage, and I think it will take me at least ten years to reach that stage. If I can break through at that time, I might be able to reach the peak ten or fifteen years after that.”

”Then, how much time do you need to reach the Celestial Venerable Realm?”

Zhang Fei shook his head. ”I can’t be sure yet, but I think I can reach that stage twenty years after I reach the 3-Sun Celestial Emperor Realm. After all, I have all of you by my side, and there are still many female Yin Demons in the Frozen Yin Domain.”

”Are you going to continue to absorb Yin Qi from those female Yin Demons?”

”Yes,” Zhang Fei nodded seriously. ”Even though my clones continued to absorb their Yin Qi, they never stopped stabilizing their cultivation, and my cultivation became more stable because of it. That’s why I won’t have any problems, and I might be able to reach the Celestial Venerable Realm earlier than I estimated. Apart from that, I can also help you guys to increase your cultivation, and you will be able to reach the Celestial Emperor Realm sooner.”

Liu Qingyu was naturally happy to hear that Zhang Fei would help her and her sisters, but she felt he was pushing himself too hard in improving his cultivation. ”Actually, my cultivation is already not far from the 2-Sun Celestial King Realm because I cultivate using your yang qi every day, and I might be able to reach that stage in the next two or three months. Not only me, but my sisters are also the same as me, and we will reach that stage at the same time.”

”That’s great!” Zhang Fei exclaimed. ”After they turn into evil beasts, we will immediately enter seclusion, and I will focus on helping you all.”
