Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1869: Meet Mo Shentian Again III

Mo Shentian grimaced as his technique clashed with Zhang Fei’s golden sword. He had tried to use his abilities to bend reality, but his efforts were shattered once again.

Having lived for so long and reached the pinnacle of the demon race, Mo Shentian never expected to encounter a solid, tall wall blocking his path. Moreover, the wall was in the form of a young cultivator much younger than his own children, yet he could make him lose his mind and feel helpless.

Just as Mo Shentian was contemplating another solution to turn the tide of their battle, those mythical figures darted toward him one by one, followed by all those elemental swords.

”Damn it! Am I really going to die today?”

Mo Shentian gritted his teeth and released more strength to block all of Zhang Fei’s attacks, but flurries of petals suddenly appeared in the area around him and shot straight at him.

”No hope!”

Mo Shentian had never felt so helpless in his entire life, and Zhang Fei’s attacks—including those flurries of petals—rapidly struck his body one after another. His clothes quickly became tattered, and his body became soaked with blood that gushed from the wounds caused by all the attacks.

Mo Shentian resigned himself to the sight of the golden sword slashing towards him, but it suddenly stopped inches from his head and disappeared on its own.

However, Mo Shentian couldn’t feel relieved because Zhang Fei suddenly appeared before him and unleashed a powerful final strike against his chest, sending him hurtling to the ground and slamming him hard into the area beneath him.

Splurt

”Cough... Cough...” Mo Shentian coughed up blood; his vision slowly blurred, and his entire body felt as though it were falling apart.

”You’re lucky I can’t kill you, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to let you off the hook.”

Zhang Fei dispelled all his techniques, landed beside Mo Shentian, and crouched there. He restricted his movement, touched his chest, and used several of his demon techniques, including his Life-Force Absorption Technique and Demon Absorbing Technique.

”Argh!” Mo Shentian screamed loudly, his face turning increasingly pale, and his body kept jerking in pain. ”Argh!”

Huo Ling brought Wu Mian and Mo Tianshen beside them.

Mo Shentian was truly shocked to see Mo Tianshen. ”Brother... Please save me...”

”I won’t save you, Brother.” Mo Tianshen refused with a shake of his head. ”Zhang Fei is my benefactor; he released your seal on my soul, and he brought me back to this realm.

”Brother... Please save me... I will do anything to make amends to you.” Mo Shentian continued to beg while screaming in pain, but Mo Tianshen ignored his pleas because he knew that Zhang Fei would not kill his brother. ”Brother... brother...”

”Shut up!” Huo Ling snapped at him. ”You are a demon god, but you beg like a little brat! You have made many mistakes in the past, and you must face the consequences today!”

After Mo Shentian weakened significantly, Zhang Fei replicated his soul and merged it with his. After implanting his demon slave mark into the Celestial Demon God’s soul, he forced him to swallow several pills to restore his condition.

Zhang Fei wanted to mimic Mo Shentian’s ability to bend reality, but unfortunately, he failed after several attempts, so he abandoned his plan. He snatched the treasure of the Celestial Demon Race from him.

”Get up.” Mo Shentian gritted his teeth, but he could not refute Zhang Fei’s order, and he struggled to stand up. ”Pass your strength to your brother.”

”What—” Mo Shentian was shocked by that.

”Hmph!” Zhang Fei sneered condescendingly. ”Do you think I’d just let you walk away after enslaving you? My purpose in enslaving you is to help Mo Tianshen inherit your strength, and he will become the next demon god of your Celestial Demon Race.”

Mo Shentian was torn, for his status as a Demon God was everything to him. Moreover, he would gradually weaken once he passed his strength on to his brother, and ultimately, he would die just like the former Demon God. ”But—”

”Do it now! Otherwise, you will experience torture that you never imagined in your life.” Zhang Fei ordered him with a stern tone.

Mo Shentian had no other choice because he had already become Zhang Fei’s slave. He stood in front of Mo Tianshen, pressed his palms against his chest, and began the process of passing on his power to him.

The process was not much different from when the former Celestial Demon God bequeathed the rest of his power to Mo Tianshen several years ago, but unfortunately, it couldn’t help the latter to become a demon god, as the former had already passed on most of his power to Mo Shentian.

Standing beside them, Wu Mian watched the process while nodding in satisfaction. He had long wanted to stop Mo Shentian because he was a threat to the other demon races, but he couldn’t do so because he was weaker than him. However, the appearance of Zhang Fei changed everything, and he managed to defeat the Celestial Demon God without much effect.

After some time, the process finally concluded, and Mo Shentian withdrew his hand from his brother’s chest. He fell to the ground while breathing heavily. His face grew paler, his breathing became heavier, and his body began to weaken. Even though his cultivation was still at the Celestial God Realm, his strength had decreased a lot compared to before.

In contrast, Mo Tianshen felt a strong fluctuation within his body, and he was about to break through to the Celestial God Realm. He was excited by this, but he quickly suppressed his excitement and sat cross-legged on the ground to prepare for his breakthrough.

Zhang Fei released a sigh of relief as his plan went smoothly without a hitch. He looked at Mo Shentian before opening the portal to the training space, which confused the Celestial Demon God.

A few minutes later, Mo Shentian got the answer to his confusion, and his expression changed drastically, a mixture of disappointment, anger, and despair. He looked at Mo Zainan, Mo Anqi, and Mo Yousha, who were standing in front of him. ”Why? Why did you three betray me?”

”Isn’t your question wrong?” Mo Zainan coldly asked. ”Have you forgotten the time you locked me in prison? Have you forgotten that you intended to sacrifice our two daughters to fulfill your ambitions? Fortunately, Zhang Fei saw through your plan, and he saved the three of us; otherwise, we would have died because you used the Yin Sacrifice Art on us.”

”How—”

”Are you surprised that our cultivation didn’t decrease after you used that technique on us?” Mo Zainan created a qi screed that displayed her time in prison. ”As I said just now, Zhang Fei saw through your plan, and he replaced us with three puppets. Therefore, we weren’t affected by your technique, so you shouldn’t be surprised if our cultivation didn’t decrease.”

Mo Shentian was once again shocked upon hearing all this; he had never imagined that Zhang Fei had replaced his wife and two daughters with puppets, and he had never even realized it.

Mo Anqi looked at her father with hatred. ”I hate you so much, Father. In the past, I always respected you, but you intended to sacrifice me for your ambition. Fortunately, my stepfather saved us from you; otherwise, we would have died by your hands.”

”Stepfather.” Mo Shentian muttered softly; he finally realized that Mo Zainan was already Zhang Fei’s wife, and he couldn’t feel his mark in her soul.

”Zhang Fei is our stepfather, and we owe him our lives,” Mo Yousha added. ”Moreover, he has given us a better opportunity, and we managed to find happiness in our lives because of him.”

”This is our last meeting, and we will never meet again in the future. Even though you were once my husband, I will never regret your fate, and I hope you will live a better life from now on.” After saying that, Mo Zainan briefly kissed Zhang Fei, and she immediately led her two daughters back to the training space.

After they left, Mo Shentian collapsed onto the ground, feeling utterly defeated. He had always been confident that all his plans would succeed, but reality contradicted him. Not only had he lost miserably to Zhang Fei, but he had also lost his power and family, and his family had already sided with his enemy.

Zhang Fei closed the portal to his training ground and opened the gate to the Celestial Demon Domain. He lifted Mo Shentian, gave him a few orders, and threw him into the gate.

”Phew,” Wu Mian sighed in relief. ”Only Qian Yan remains, and all the demon races will live in peace if you manage to defeat him in the future.”

Zhang Fei nodded slightly. ”Qian Yan is far stronger than Mo Shentian, and his eye abilities are extremely troublesome. I have decided to go into seclusion for the next ten years, and I will go looking for him once I finish.”

”Are you sure you can beat Qian Yan at that time?”

”I can’t give you an answer right now, Old Wu.” Zhang Fei looked at Wu Mian. ”To be frank, I could easily defeat Qian Yan if I borrowed Feng Yao’s full power, and Huo Ling could help me beat him too. However, I don’t want to do that because he is my final test; I have to defeat him using my own strength. Whether I will succeed or not, we will know the result in ten years.”

Wu Mian nodded in understanding. ”In that case, I will patiently wait for that day to arrive, and I will witness your battle with Qian Yan firsthand.”
