The appearance of a series of notifications surprised Zhang Fei [1], but he immediately ignored them because he was approaching the final process of fusing his soul with the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul.

After another day, the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul finally disappeared after fusing with Zhang Fei [1]ʼs soul.

[The host obtained half of the ten-tailed foxʼs soul power.]

[The hostʼs soul power level has increased to the perfection stage of the saint soul level.]

Zhang Fei [1] suddenly felt a tremendous turbulence in his soul sea. Just as Ma Kuangyu had said before, his soul sea began to undergo changes after he finished absorbing the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul.

Zhang Fei [1] immediately brought Ma Kuangyu and Nalan Yushu back into his soul sea, and they saw that the situation inside was very chaotic. ”How should I turn my soul sea into a soul world?”

”Haha.” Nalan Yushu giggled. ”Thatʼs easy, Master. First, you must stabilize and refine your soul sea. Second, create the soul pillars, which are the foundation for your soul world. Third, create the firmament. Once everything is done, your soul sea will transform into a soul world.”

”Even if you successfully form your soul world, you cannot bring other living beings into it yet.” Zhang Fei [1] turned to Ma Kuangyu, asking for a more detailed explanation. ”When a soul world is born, it is still in its infant stage, and you must nourish it with many things. You can use your soul power, soul items, other living beingsʼ souls, and many more. Your soul world will expand by itself, and the sky will be the first to form, followed by earth, water, air, day, and night. However, you must understand the most vital thing first, which is the laws of the world. The world would be chaotic without them, and they regulate everything in it to make it balanced and habitable.”

”The laws?”

”The law of space, the law of gravity, the law of death, the law of birth, the law of rebirth, and many others.” After hearing all that from Ma Kuangyu, Zhang Fei [1] sighed heavily. ”Haha! I understand that you are disappointed due to the complexity, but that is the reality. Many soul cultivators in the Paradise Realm have succeeded in creating their own soul worlds, but they are still unable to bring other living creatures to live in their worlds, including those who have cultivated for millions of years.”

”Master, do it now, or your soul sea will become even more chaotic, and you will suffer severe injury to your soul.” Nalan Yushu warned Zhang Fei [1].

”All right.” Zhang Fei [1] immediately floated in the air, closed his eyes, and tried to follow the guidance of the two people.

Nalan Yushu looked at Zhang Fei [1]. ”Do you think heʼll succeed in one try?”

”No.” Ma Kuangyu shook his head at her. ”This kid indeed has extraordinary comprehension, and he can understand various things faster than anyone else. However, turning our soul sea into a soul world is not an easy matter, and many of them failed repeatedly before succeeding in doing so.”

Nalan Yushu nodded her head repeatedly. ”Thanks to the ten-tailed foxʼs benevolent and evil souls, his soul level broke through several stages at once in a day, and he has already surpassed his master now. Unfortunately, it is not enough to fight against the soul cultivators in the Paradise Realm, especially since most of them have already reached the Divine Soul Level.”

”Thatʼs right.” Ma Kuangyu replied with a soft sigh. ”Breaking through from the ancestral soul level to the saint soul level should have taken thousands of years, but he managed to achieve it because of those two souls. In my opinion, it will be a loss for him, and he will have considerable difficulty when he forms his divine soul in the future.”

Meanwhile, Xuanyuan Yue and her mother had arrived at the Flame Spirit Citadel, but they were surprised to find Feng Yao waiting for them there.

”Why do people from another universe like you two come to my universe?” Feng Yaoʼs question shocked Xuanyuan Yue and her mother.

Xuanyuan Yue immediately asked. ”How did you know that we came from another universe?”

”The first reason is because the Qi in both of your bodies is different from the Qi in this universe, and the second reason is Zhang Fei.” Xuanyuan Yue inwardly grumbled at Feng Yaoʼs second reason. ”To be frank, I am furious about your actions toward him; however, I also feel fortunate that you took those actions, little girl.”

”Haha.” Xuanyuan Yue laughed awkwardly at that. ”I accidentally killed Zhang Fei, and I just wanted to repay him for my mistakes. However, I did not expect that my actions at that time would trigger a series of chain events, which also brought significant changes to this universe.”

Feng Yao released a soft sigh. ”Everything has happened, and it is also useful for this universe, so I will let you go this time.”

”Phew.” Xuanyuan Yue exhaled in relief as she patted her chest. ”At first, I thought you were a member of that race, but I just got some new information about you, including your old identity as the primordial named Shen Yuanzhi. From there, I realized that my guess was wrong, and your existence should be higher than the primordials.”

”Oh?” Feng Yao raised her eyebrows. ”So, youʼve been spying on Zhang Fei all this time, huh?”

”Yes.” Xuanyuan Yue did not hide it. ”I spied on Zhang Fei not because I wanted to know his personal affairs, but because he had my research results in his body, and I did not want him to use them for evil. If he uses it for evil purposes, I will immediately withdraw it from him.”

Feng Yao nodded in understanding. ”Everything that belongs to Zhang Fei is your creation, such as his training space, Yin-Yang Space, and many others. Besides, there is something else inside his body that prevents me from examining him, right?”

”Hehehe.” Xuanyuan Yue laughed while sticking out her tongue.

Feng Yao then spoke again. ”Youʼre right, my existence is indeed higher than the primordials, but I wonʼt tell you anything, especially since it could affect the future of this universe.”

”Cheapskate!” Xuanyuan Yue pursed her lips.

”Hehe.” Feng Yao chuckled before looking at the other woman. ”Do you have any questions for me?”

The woman immediately introduced herself to Feng Yao before conveying the purpose of her visit. ”I would like to ask you how you managed to escape the shackles of this universe. My husband is shackled by our universe, and he cannot escape from it, making him unable to leave his place.”

”You are mistaken; I have not yet escaped the shackles of this universe.” Feng Yaoʼs answer confused the two women. ”If I had escaped the shackles, I wouldnʼt be here now, and I wouldnʼt have been reincarnated over and over again to find the right person to help me escape the shackles. If your daughter had not come to my universe and done all that to Zhang Fei, I would have continued to reincarnate until that person appeared. Unfortunately, he was not ready to help me, so I had to wait for a long time.”

”What should Zhang Fei do to help you to break free from the shackles of this universe?” The woman asked.

Feng Yao shook her head. ”I canʼt be sure about that yet, and I have to wait for Zhang Fei to reach the Five Celestial Realms first.”

”I see.” The woman sighed in disappointment after hearing that. ”I hope you are willing to share the method if you have found one, and I will try it to free my husband from the shackles of our universe.”

Feng Yao did not immediately give the woman an answer and thought for a while. ”How did you two come to this universe?”

”Me.” Feng Yao raised an eyebrow at Xuanyuan Yue. ”My father has an artifact that allows him to travel to other universes, but only he can use it. Therefore, I created a flying artifact using the basic principles of that artifact, and it took me ten thousand years to successfully create it.”

”How many other universes are there besides our two?”

”Too many that I canʼt remember their number, but you donʼt need to mind them, especially since they donʼt have the ability to go to other universes like me.” Feng Yao was surprised by that, and Xuanyuan Yue told her something else. ”I have gone to several other universes to find a way to free my father from the shackles of our universe, but unfortunately, I have not managed to find a way for him. Initially, I was not sure whether Zhang Fei would be able to break free from the shackles of the universe in the future, but after observing him for more than three years, I am confident that he will be able to do so. Therefore, I will continue to monitor him, and I will meet him after he succeeds in doing so.”

Feng Yao then warned Xuanyuan Yue. ”I donʼt mind if you do that, but I hope you donʼt meddle in Zhang Feiʼs life again. If you do anything else, Iʼm afraid his future will change once again, and we will never find a way to break free from the shackles of the universe.”

”I know.” Xuanyuan Yue nodded in understanding and then asked a question. ”So, what is your true identity?”

”Why are you so curious about my identity?” Feng Yao smiled as she responded, which annoyed Xuanyuan Yue. ”Since you keep monitoring Zhang Fei, you will know my identity in the future. Therefore, you just need to be patient until the time comes, and you will know everything then.”

Xuanyuan Yue sighed heavily because Feng Yao was too secretive, but she then spoke to her mother. ”Letʼs go back, Mother. If Zhang Fei manages to find a way to escape the shackles of this universe, I will tell you right away so you and the others can free my father from that place.”

”Thank you for your time, and we will leave now.” The woman spoke to Feng Yao.

”Donʼt mind it.” After the two women disappeared from the place, Huo Ling immediately appeared by Feng Yaoʼs side. ”What do you think of them?”

”That womanʼs husband should be the ruler of their universe, and his existence should be equal to yours, Master.” Huo Ling then asked her. ”Do you really believe that Zhang Fei can help you break free from the shackles? What will happen to this universe if you disappear?”

”Hmm?” Feng Yao looked up at the sky and thought about that. ”Zhang Fei canʼt do it now, but I believe that he can do it in the future. When he reaches the peak of cultivation in the future, this universe will probably change a lot, and many outstanding cultivators will appear by then, so I believe that this universe will be fine without me. Moreover, it is still too early to talk about this matter because I still havenʼt made a decision about my future, and the future is still very long.”

Huo Ling exhaled deeply before embracing Feng Yao. ”Do you have the heart to leave me alone? We have been together for several lifetimes, and you have become an important part of my life. The thought of you disappearing forever has always scared me, and I donʼt know whether I can accept it or not.”

”Why are you being sentimental now?” Feng Yao then pulled Huo Ling onto her lap and gave her a brief kiss. ”Honestly, I canʼt bear to leave you alone, but youʼve known my destiny since the day we met, and my destiny began to move since Zhang Fei died three years ago. The stronger he became, the closer my destiny came to reality. My fate will be fulfilled when he reaches the top of this universe, and we will have to separate at that time.”

Huo Ling felt sad and hugged Feng Yao tighter. ”Thatʼs why I hate him so much! If he wasnʼt born in this universe, your destiny would never have moved. If you disappeared later, it would be his fault, and I will never forgive him.”

”Iʼm sorry, Huo Ling.” Feng Yao could only say that as she embraced the fire spirit, who began to sob in her arms.

Days passed quickly, and a week had already passed in the Three Mortal Realms. Aqua and Yuhe, who had been waiting for a long time in front of the underwater cityʼs secret place, decided to check inside, especially since Zhang Fei [1] still hadnʼt come out from there.

The two female undines exchanged confused glances upon seeing Zhang Fei [1] sitting motionless, and they speculated that he was battling the ten-tailed foxʼs evil soul in his soul sea.

”What do you think happened to him, Sister Aqua?” Yuhe asked her question while walking closer to Zhang Fei [1].

Aqua also approached Zhang Fei [1] and observed him. ”I donʼt know for sure, but I believe that nothing bad happened to him, especially since he looks so calm now. If the evil soul influenced him, Iʼm sure he wouldnʼt be this calm, and he would have already wreaked havoc in this city.”

”Yeah, youʼre right.” Yuhe nodded in agreement. ”Since heʼs fine, you can go back to your place and take care of other things, and Iʼll wait for him to wake up here.”

”You can contact me if there are any changes to him, and Iʼll come here right away.” Thereafter, Aqua immediately left the place, and Yuhe sat a little away from Zhang Fei [1], waiting for him to wake up.

Jia Yuyan and the others continued to monitor Zhang Xiaolong [3] from the Qi screen in the Sovereign Heaven Realm, but he showed no progress in the Dao test.

Leng Hua had joined them, but he wore an angry expression because his subordinate had not returned for a week. He was sure that Tian Jingxuan had disrupted his plan to capture Zhang Xiaolong [3], but he did not ask him anything, especially since the other clans seemed to support him.

Leng Hua asked his daughter about their situation, but Leng Xueyan only answered with a few words, and she was more focused on observing Zhang Xiaolong [3], which irritated him. ʼWhat really happened to her? After she disappeared that time, her attitude changed quite significantly, and she seemed to really care about this kid.ʼ

”Hey! Look! His Dao test is finally starting!” Shi Yan suddenly shouted.

Jia Yuyan nodded in agreement with him. ”However, this is just the beginning, and he will undergo the true Dao test soon.”

”Do you think he will succeed, Yuyan?” Shangguan Yan asked.

Jia Yuyan shook her head. ”We just have to wait and see whether he will succeed or not.”
