Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 121: Essence Absorption Technique

”Why are you so eager to hunt beasts, Zhang Fei?” Wen Yuan asked as she looked at the countless beast corpses under the foundation realm strewn across the ground.

Since his cultivation was already at the 5 Star Foundation realm, combined with his Demon Physique Strengthening Method and teleportation ability, it was very easy for Zhang Fei to kill various kinds of beasts under the Foundation realm.

Zhang Fei continued to search for the beast cores in the heads of the beast corpses as he answered her questions. ”To be honest, I need a lot of beast cores for something, and thatʼs why Iʼm so eager to hunt them.”

Wen Xuan then asked. ”How many beast cores do you need?”

”I need 5,000 lower-grade beast cores.” With a low sigh, Zhang Fei answered her.

”Hmm?” The Wen Twins were surprised to hear that; they then checked their storage ring and gave all their lower-grade beast cores to Zhang Fei.

Zhang Feiʼs eyes lit up after receiving them all, for there were so many of them. ʼCount them, Mei.ʼ

[Okay!]

ʼOh? Over 6,000 beast cores!ʼ Zhang Fei cheered in his heart upon seeing that. ʼMei! Immediately buy that Essence Absorption Technique!ʼ

[Alrighty!]

{5000 Lower Grade Beast Core has been deducted from your balance}

Unlike his cultivation technique, Zhang Fei doesnʼt need to learn the abilities of his demon and beast bloodlines, and he can already use all of his techniques instantly.

”Why did your expression suddenly become so happy?” Wen Yuan asked after seeing the smile on his face.

Zhang Fei laughed and hugged the Wen Twins by the waist, then he kissed them on the lips for a moment before answering them. ”Letʼs find a stronger beast first, and Iʼll show you guys later.”

”Hmm?” The Wen Twins stared at him in confusion.

They then moved to another part of the forest, and soon they encountered a wild boar beast at Core Rank, and the Wen Twins helped Zhang Fei restrict its movements with their auras.

Actually, they didnʼt need to do that to help him because Zhang Fei could do it himself. Just by releasing a bit of his heavenly foxʼs aura, the beasts would definitely tremble before him.

Zhang Fei immediately moved in front of the beast, pressed his palm against its head, and used his new technique on it.

*Snort... Snort...*

The wild boar beast groaned in pain and screamed as he did that, and Zhang Fei could feel its essence flowing into his body rapidly.

The Wen Twinsʼ eyes widened, and their jaws dropped as they saw the beastʼs body dry up quickly, and soon only its skin and bones were left.

”Damn! I didnʼt expect that technique to be terrifying enough!” Zhang Fei shouted in shock; he himself did not expect that the effect of his new technique was similar to that of life-force absorption.

Mei giggled and explained it to him. [Master, beast essence is no different from human life force, so the effects of the two techniques are indeed similar. But isnʼt this great? This way, you can collect beast essence quickly, and your second tail can grow even faster.]

ʼWell, thatʼs true; I really canʼt wait to grow my second tail.ʼ Zhang Fei replied with a slight nod.

”Fei! What kind of technique is that?” Wei Yuan asked as she frowned at him.

Wen Xuanʼs expression was also ugly after witnessing his vicious actions. ”Where did you learn such a cruel technique?”

”Have you guys forgotten that Iʼm also a fox beast?” Zhang Fei asked back and looked at them in amusement, and the Wen Twins didnʼt forget that either. ”Itʼs one of my beast abilities, but I can only use it against beasts.”

”Really? Can you really only use that technique on beasts?” The Wen Twins simply did not believe his words.

Zhang Fei nodded and explained it to them. ”As a human, I need qi to increase my cultivation. But as a fox beast, I need a lot of beast essence to evolve. So I was forced to use that technique, or else it would take me a very long time to evolve.”

”I see.” Wen Yuan nodded in understanding. ”I know that a beast can evolve, but Iʼve always thought that they only need qi to do so.”

”I also know that beast was like that.” Wen Xuan said.

”Hey, donʼt compare me to normal beasts.” Zhang Fei chuckled. ”Letʼs go; I want to find more beasts, for I still need so many beast essences.”

The Wen Twins couldnʼt help but shake their heads, and they immediately followed Zhang Fei.

Meanwhile, the four women who were with Zhang Fei [1] were also shocked to see him absorbing the beast essence, especially since the beast dries up quickly.

Unlike the other three women, Luo Yu, as a beast, noticed his actions, and her body trembled at the thought of Zhang Fei [1] doing that to her. ʼHow could he do that? He absorbed its essence dry.ʼ

[You gained 1,500 Beast Essence from the Snake Turtle Beast.]

After the beast died, Zhang Fei [1] breathed a sigh of relief, and he nodded to himself with a satisfied smile. Then he turned to Luo Yu and said to her. ”Hey, you are my partner, so of course I would never use my technique on you.”

”But where did you get the technique that can absorb the beast essence from other beasts?” Luo Yu asked with a frown.

Even though Zhang Fei [1] had said it like that, Luo Yu still couldnʼt shake off the anxiety in her heart, and she was scared if he suddenly used that technique on her.

Zhang Fei [1] laughed softly and gave her a fake answer. ”That is one of my innate abilities, and I need a lot of beast essence to evolve.”

”Wait a minute!” Gu Yan suddenly shouted after she realized something, and she turned to Luo Yu. ”Does that mean youʼre a beast?”

Luo Yu sighed softly and nodded to her. ”Yan, Iʼm sorry. I never told you before, but I am indeed a beast.”

Ning Xiang and Duan Yu were also surprised to hear that; they certainly knew that beasts could turn into humans, but they didnʼt expect that one of them would be among them.

Zhang Fei [1] then said to Gu Yan. ”Even though Luo Yu is a beast, it shouldnʼt matter to you, right?”

”En, I was just surprised to hear that.” Gu Yan replied as she nodded.

Luo Yu breathed a sigh of relief at her answer, for she already felt very close to her.
