The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 2079: Healing Chaos with One’s Life

Seeing Jing Yan sitting cross-legged in the Chaos Void, everyone present fell silent. They surrounded Jing Yan, not daring to make any noise.

They were powerful, mastering various Taoist Laws, with a strong perception of Chaos. Even without Luo Dejie’s words, they could sense the abnormality of this Chaos.

The cracks in the Chaos Barrier were numerous, with some areas beginning to show signs of collapse. Jing Yan knew that the collapse had just started, and its speed was relatively slow now, but the longer it went on, the faster it would collapse. If left unchecked, even three months would be hard to sustain. Furthermore, during the collapse of Chaos, a large number of living beings would die.

A large amount of energy containing the aura of Death seeped in from Beyond Chaos, which ordinary living beings could not withstand.

Jing Yan tried to use Supreme Rules to restore, but to no avail; the Supreme Rules seemed powerless to reverse the situation.

”I can only... try to integrate my Life Force into the Supreme Rules. The source of all creation in Chaos is Life Force,” Jing Yan thought to himself.

He absorbed the Life Force of the Primordial Chaos Tree, thriving with vitality. Moreover, his current Life Force was the highest level of Life Force within this Chaos—essentially the initial Life Force, which was highly compatible with the Supreme Rules.

When the Supreme Rules infused with Life Force were used to repair the cracks, this time it was effective. In just a breath, Jing Yan completed the restoration of a massive Chaos crack.

Seeing this, Jing Yan couldn’t help but let out a breath, relaxing a little.

If even infusing Life Force could not repair the Chaos cracks, he would have no other means.

After repairing that first crack, he immediately worked on more. Jing Yan couldn’t repair them one by one, as the cracks would appear faster than he could restore. He manipulated the Supreme Rules to begin a large-scale restoration of cracks, and his Life Force was continuously consumed.

At this moment, Jing Yan was using his own Life Force to restore Endless Chaos.

With Jing Yan repairing Chaos, Endless Chaos gradually stabilized, and the constantly flooding Death aura thinned.

Ma Yi Ancestor and others sensed this change, showing joyful expressions on their faces.

Yet Jing Yan’s own Life Force consumption accelerated.

After thirty minutes, roughly half of the cracks in Endless Chaos were repaired, but Jing Yan’s Life Force had already been depleted by more than half.

The people surrounding Jing Yan had already noticed this, perceiving the continuously diminishing aura of Jing Yan Daoist.

”Everyone, look! Lord Taoist’s aura isn’t as powerful as before?” Nuwa Palace Master exclaimed in shock.

”It’s indeed weaker; what’s happening?”

”I feel like Lord Taoist’s Life Force is being consumed!”

”It’s not good, Lord Taoist’s Life Force has been consumed more than half. Even Lord Taoist’s hair has turned gray.”

”What exactly is happening?”

Everyone was shocked and restless.

Another teacup of time passed.

By now, Jing Yan’s once-black hair had completely turned white. The rosy cheeks vanished, replaced by a pale face.

”What should we do? What should we do?”

”Lord Taoist must be consuming his own Life Force to repair the Chaos cracks. How can we help Lord Taoist?” Nuwa Palace Master spoke with tears welling up, her voice quivering.

Others also nodded subconsciously. Jing Yan Daoist’s Life Force was rapidly depleting, while Endless Chaos was regaining stability. This could only mean that the Daoist was using his life to repair Chaos.

A stifling atmosphere lingered between heaven and earth.

They felt that Jing Yan Daoist’s life force was nearly gone, less than one-tenth remained. If life force continued to diminish, Jing Yan Daoist might die.

”We can only wake Lord Taoist!” Ma Yi Ancestor spoke resolutely.

”Will it cause problems?” Someone asked anxiously.

”None of us know whether waking Lord Taoist will cause problems, but if we don’t, I’m afraid Lord Taoist will surely die,” Ma Yi Ancestor said heavily.

Everyone looked at each other, their eyes filled with worry; no one could think of a better solution.

”I will wake Lord Taoist!” Nuwa Palace Master said, biting her teeth.

Among them, she was the closest to Jing Yan. One could even say that Jing Yan was practically created by Nuwa Palace Master. Without Nuwa’s creation of the Human Clan, Jing Yan could not exist.

Nuwa began to shout loudly to Jing Yan, but Jing Yan showed no response.

With no other option, Nuwa had to use her Divine Power, directly affecting Jing Yan meditating in the Void.

This time, Jing Yan responded; he sensed Nuwa’s Divine Power. He opened his eyes, seeing Nuwa and the others, observing the concern on their faces.

Jing Yan was actually very aware of the changes in his body, but he couldn’t stop. If he stopped now, Chaos would continue to collapse. Chaos itself hadn’t regained its self-healing ability.

”Cough!” Jing Yan coughed.

Black blood slowly oozed from the corner of his mouth, his silver hair fluttered in the air.

”Lord Taoist, stop now!”

”Yes, stop now, your Life Force is running out.”

”If you don’t stop, you’ll die, Lord Taoist!”

All eyes were filled with worry, focused on Jing Yan.

But Jing Yan shook his head.

”Everyone, if I stop now, Chaos will end eventually. If Chaos is no more, none will remain,” Jing Yan said softly.

One could see faint green light spreading over Jing Yan’s body. These green lights integrated into Chaos, seemingly also restoring the life force of Endless Chaos.

”But...” Nuwa Palace Master frowned deeply.

”Lady Nuwa, don’t say it,” Jing Yan shook his head again.

Another teacup of time passed.

Suddenly, Jing Yan’s body transformed into countless green light points. These countless points gently scattered with a breeze, falling across all of heaven and earth.

Before Ma Yi Ancestor, Yihua Palace Master, and other Title Controllers, as well as many Controllers, Jing Yan’s body completely disappeared.

More people couldn’t help but shed tears.

”Lord Taoist... has perished!”

”Jing Yan Daoist, using his life, repaired Endless Chaos.”

”Lord Taoist!” someone shouted loudly into the Void.

”Lord Taoist, where are you?” More people raised their voices in calling.

The sound echoed throughout heaven and earth, yet there was no answer.

At this time, not all the cracks in Endless Chaos were repaired, especially many areas that had already completely collapsed were still in severe condition. However, Chaos had now regained some self-healing ability. Those cracks and collapsed areas were no longer expanding, instead, they began to slowly self-repair.
