The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 1835: Chapter 1835: Unbelievable Changes

Three-Ring Chaos Slayers are usually strong individuals in the Third-Step, Fourth-Step Dao Skill Realm, and even some in the Fifth-Step Dao Skill Realm who haven’t been registered as Chaos Slayers for long or haven’t completed many tasks might also be Three-Ring Slayers.

Of course, some less powerful lives, due to completing an extensive number of tasks, might gradually upgrade to become Three-Ring Chaos Slayers. However, these lives would never dare to take on Second-Ring or higher-tier slayer tasks, for they accumulate enough Slaughter Points only through a multitude of First-Ring tasks.

At this moment, Jie Ying is gazing at Jing Yan and the other five Chaos Slayers with a face full of doubt. Among these five Slayers, only one is a Second-Ring Slayer, two are First-Ring Slayers, and the remaining two are merely newcomers. How could such a team complete a Three-Ring Slaughter Task?

”Buzz!”

A faint vibration of energy.

Closely followed, a cold and emotionless voice echoed within the side hall.

”Completion of the fifty-person group Three-Ring Slaughter Task, a total of twenty thousand Slaughter Points awarded!” The mechanical voice announced, devoid of emotion.

Twenty thousand Slaughter Points!

Fifty-person group Three-Ring Slaughter Task!

What’s going on here?

Jie Ying’s body quivered slightly, her heart hammered fiercely.

Not all Three-Ring Slaughter Tasks are the same; there exist personal tasks, five-person group tasks, ten-person group tasks, fifty-person group tasks, and large-scale, long-term slaughter tasks among them.

Among these, tasks for groups of fifty are generally the hardest within the same grade. One can imagine the difference in difficulty between tasks needing one person and those needing fifty people to complete.

Yet now, Jing Yan and four others have completed a fifty-person group Three-Ring Slaughter Task. A reward of full twenty thousand Slaughter Points!

It’s important to know, a First-Ring task, if it’s a five-person group First-Ring task, generally awards around ten points in rewards. These ten points, are divided among five people according to performance. On average, each person receives three or five points. As for a fifty-person group First-Ring task, the reward points would multiply several times. Yet, there is no fifty-person group task at the First Ring.

If a slaughter task requires more Slayers to accomplish, the difficulty level will rise accordingly. For example, Second-Ring Slaughter Tasks will see some ten-person group tasks. Among Three-Ring tasks, fifty-person group tasks appear. Both Second-Ring and Three-Ring tasks also include personal tasks and five-person, ten-person group tasks.

”Would you like to proceed with the distribution of the reward Slaughter Points for this task?” The mechanical voice spoke again, emotionless.

”Hold on a moment, this slaughter task requires further examination,” Jie Ying interjected.

”Clash!”

With Jie Ying’s words, the three silver rings above Jing Yan and the others vanished. The mystical investigative energy within the side hall gradually faded away.

”The five of you Slayers, please wait here for a moment,” Jie Ying told Jing Yan and his team.

After which, she left the side hall.

”What’s going on? Is there an issue?” Jing Yan frowned.

”Lord Jing Yan, there’s no need for concern; our task this time is simply too unique, advancing directly from a first-ring five-person group task to a fifty-person Three-Ring Slaughter Task. The staff is likely startled, thus needing consultation with the higher-ups in the Slaughter God Temple about this matter. The task we completed must be solid,” Gu Mie reassured quickly.

Right then, the faces of Gu Mie and the others were flushed, their eyes sparkling.

They had listened clearly when the mechanical voice spoke earlier. The total task reward: a full twenty thousand Slaughter Points. Even though the majority of these points would fall into Jing Yan’s pocket, the residual four members would still receive significantly more Slaughter Points than a First-Ring Slaughter Task.

”I see. Then let’s wait here,” Jing Yan nodded.

Jie Ying exited the side hall, heading directly into the inner hall of the Slaughter God Temple.

”Jie Ying, is there a matter?” A middle-aged man in a brown robe asked Jie Ying.

This individual was the Hall Master of the Slaughter God Temple.

Of course, he was only the Hall Master for the Slaughter God Temple on this continent, the person in local charge of the temple. His own power was also quite formidable, having stepped into the Fifth-Step Dao Skill Realm, a strength comparable to or slightly surpassing the Nine Heavens Divine Phoenix.

”Hall Master, an odd occurrence has arisen,” Jie Ying reported cautiously.

”Hmm, explain,” Yan Qing nodded with a nonchalant expression.

Yan Qing didn’t appear all that concerned.

”A team that took a First-Ring official Slaughter Task, just returned to submit their task. I brought them to the Investigation Hall, but inexplicably, the hall presented a result indicating they completed a Three-Ring Slaughter Task.” Jie Ying explained the matter succinctly, without unnecessary words.

Upon hearing this, Yan Qing’s initially slightly squinted eyes snapped wide open.

A First-Ring task turning into a Three-Ring task? That is indeed unusual! A shift from First-Ring to Second-Ring Slaughter Task may be typical, but a leap straight to Three-Ring is rare. In major continents, such cases seldom arise.

He stood up, staring at Jie Ying questioning, ”Are you certain they took a First-Ring task upon assignment?”

”Certain! Those five have nothing special, one is a Second-Ring Slayer, two are First-Ring Slayers, and the last two are newcomers. As such a team, they can only take on First-Ring Slaughter Tasks,” Jie Ying nodded.

There was no chance for her to mistake this.

”This is strange,” Yan Qing started paying attention.

”Hall Master, not only was the task they completed Three-Ring grade but specifically the highest difficulty fifty-person group Three-Ring Slaughter Task. The reward Slaughter Points totalled at twenty thousand. Thus, I dare not make decisions alone, so I’ve come to report to the Hall Master,” Jie Ying continued respectfully.

”Fifty people... a Three-Ring Slaughter Task? The five of them completed it?” This time, Yan Qing’s demeanor changed.

The significance of a Three-Ring Slaughter Task is clear to Yan Qing. Three-Ring Slaughter Tasks are extraordinarily challenging. Typically, even Fourth-Step Dao Skill experts hesitate to accept Three-Ring tasks casually. Across the chaos, those taking Three-Ring Slaughter Tasks often fall into the Fifth-Step Dao Skill category.

In this unnamed Chaos Continent’s Slaughter God Temple, the highest level tasks issued are Three-Ring ones, yet their occurrence is exceedingly rare, possibly appearing once in tens of thousands of years, and are not guaranteed to be taken.

”Take me to them!” Yan Qing, with a solemn look, told Jie Ying.
