The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 1816: Chapter 1816: I Am Hong Jun

The two talked while passing by the corpse of the Devouring Sky Clan creature.

”That is...” Jing Yan suddenly paused.

In front of him, instead of seeing the chaotic vortex, he saw an expanse of array map. This array map was actually composed of countless array patterns, seemingly engraved in the void. Each array pattern held vast power, its complexity even surpassing the content recorded in the Qiankun Array Path.

This was clearly not a natural array, but a big array arranged by humans.

What surprised Jing Yan was, who could arrange such a formation here? Are there such beings within the chaotic universe?

”Jing Yan, is that a formation? How can it be? When I first came here, I didn’t see any formation.” Xiao Feng said, her eyes full of doubt as she frowned.

When she first came to the chaotic vortex, she encountered a Devouring Sky Clan creature, and then fought desperately to perish together with it. However, at that time, she didn’t find any formation here.

”Last time you were here, there was no formation?” Jing Yan was shocked again.

If Xiao Feng didn’t see the formation last time she was here, then the formation must have been arranged after Xiao Feng’s nirvana.

But who arranged this formation? The complexity of it was extremely astonishing. In Jing Yan’s view, even the most powerful initial creatures adept at Array Dao from the ancient times could not set this up. Even he, who mastered the Qiankun Array Path as a Holy Array Master, could not fully understand it.

”Let’s go and take a look! This formation doesn’t seem to be for killing.” Jing Yan mused.

”Alright!” Xiao Feng nodded.

The two flew toward the array map, and the closer they got, the more shocked Jing Yan became. This formation was truly a masterpiece, reaching the pinnacle of creation! Jing Yan admitted that his skill in array formation was far inferior to the person who arranged this formation, not even half as good.

Getting closer to the formation, Jing Yan confirmed one thing: the formation indeed wasn’t for killing. The array patterns, although holding vast power, didn’t have any killing intent.

This place, where the chaotic vortex was, had few traces of human presence. Arranging a killing formation here would be meaningless. So what was the purpose of the person who arranged this big array?

”Oh no! Where is the chaotic vortex?” Xiao Feng looked around, exclaiming softly.

Xiao Feng confirmed that the chaotic vortex used to be nearby. But now, she couldn’t find the entrance to the chaotic vortex as she looked around the space.

Jing Yan also frowned before his eyes suddenly lit up.

”Could the chaotic vortex be hidden within the formation?” Jing Yan considered this possibility.

Upon hearing Jing Yan’s words, Xiao Feng nodded: ”That’s the most likely possibility! The chaotic vortex used to be nearby, but it’s not visible now. So, it’s likely hidden within the big array. Brother Jing Yan, should we break the formation from the outside?”

”It’s difficult. The complexity of this formation, even I can’t understand it. Using brute force to break it is also unlikely. I estimate that with our strength, even attacking continuously for millions of years wouldn’t break the formation.” Jing Yan shook his head and said.

”What should we do then?” Xiao Feng reflexively asked.

”It’s simple. Let’s go in and take a look.” Jing Yan said.

”Go in? How can that be! If there’s danger inside such a strange formation, what should we do?” Xiao Feng was startled by Jing Yan’s suggestion.

”There shouldn’t be any danger, at most we might get trapped. But if we don’t go in, we’re here for nothing, and it’s difficult to understand the situation with this big array and the chaotic vortex.” Jing Yan said, looking at Xiao Feng, ”I’ll go in first. If there’s no danger, I’ll send you a message. If there’s danger, you can find a way to save me from outside.”

”No way, if we go in, we go together. I won’t wait outside.” Xiao Feng immediately refused Jing Yan’s proposal to go in alone.

Jing Yan shook his head, knowing that Xiao Feng wouldn’t let him go in alone. He didn’t say more because he was pretty certain that even if the big array had offensive capabilities, they wouldn’t be strong. The Devouring Sky Clan creature Mo Ye Hong likely came out from here; if the formation had a lethal attack power, it would also be fatal to Mo Ye Hong. How could Mo Ye Hong have appeared in the universe, devouring boundary domains?

”Whoosh!” Jing Yan and Xiao Feng were not hesitant people. They immediately entered the formation.

Upon entering the formation, they could clearly feel the mighty power contained within the array patterns, a shock that directly touched the soul.

”Buzz!”

Just as Jing Yan tried to observe the surroundings, a peculiar energy wave suddenly descended. Jing Yan instinctively tried to resist, but this energy effortlessly penetrated his defense, spreading over both him and Xiao Feng.

This energy didn’t attack Jing Yan and Xiao Feng. It seemed to be probing them.

After the energy spread, the surrounding space suddenly distorted. Next, the scene before their eyes changed. They found themselves in an ancient room.

One moment they were in the incomprehensible big array, and the next, inexplicably in an ancient room.

Jing Yan and Xiao Feng exchanged glances, both with shock in their eyes.

In the chaotic universe, Jing Yan and Xiao Feng were among the most powerful. Yet what they saw and felt now exceeded their understanding. Neither the peculiar big array nor how they suddenly arrived in the ancient room was clear to them.

At this moment, a figure appeared before them, an old man in a green robe, smiling gently at Jing Yan and Xiao Feng.

Jing Yan immediately saw that this figure was formed by Divine Soul energy, not a physical presence.

”Who might this senior be?” Jing Yan asked.

Jing Yan was confused about their situation, but one thing was certain: the old man before them, although just Divine Soul energy, his physical form must be an immensely terrifying presence. Jing Yan guessed that the earlier formation was also arranged by this old man. A being with such abilities was undoubtedly extraordinary.

Calling him ’senior’ must not be wrong.

Moreover, the old man seemed to harbor no malice toward Jing Yan and Xiao Feng.

Xiao Feng, however, kept a cautious look directed at the Divine Soul energy-formed old man.

”I am Hong Jun!” The old man said calmly.
