Chapter 1877: Chapter 1877: Core Disciple

Jing Yan and the Nuwa Palace Master stood before the building.

Ever since entering the Hongjun Heavenly Palace, the Tao Aura seemed to be everywhere. Cultivating in such an environment clearly had a half-the-effort, twice-the-result effect on cultivators trying to comprehend Taoist Law.

”It’s indeed worthy of being an Ultimate Force. No wonder nearly all life in the Endless Chaos wants to enter an Ultimate Force for cultivation. Just looking at the environment alone, it’s unbelievably good,” Jing Yan mused.

”Jing Yan, how about staying here for the time being?” the Nuwa Palace Master said to Jing Yan with a smile.

The Nuwa Palace Master was referring to the building in front of them. It was vacant, with no other residents inside.

”I’ll follow Lady Nüwa’s arrangements,” Jing Yan quickly replied.

Others might call her Palace Master, but Jing Yan was used to calling her Lady Nüwa. Nuwa didn’t mind; on the contrary, she found it endearing.

”Stay here for now. Jing Yan, with your strength and talent, upon entering our Hongjun Heavenly Palace, you should directly become a Core Disciple. However, promoting a Core Disciple isn’t something I can decide unilaterally. I need to discuss this with others. Our Heavenly Palace disciples are divided into three levels. The lowest are the Outer Disciples, followed by the Inner Sect Disciples, and the highest are the Core Disciples. The status of a Core Disciple is comparable to the Void Son of the Void Divine Hall. Our Core Disciples at the Hongjun Heavenly Palace are also very few in number,” the Nuwa Palace Master explained slowly to Jing Yan.

This was information Jing Yan already knew. When he was in the Shelun Country, the Shelun Country’s Ruler, Chenyuan Emperor, had mentioned these details to him.

The Outer Disciples of Hongjun Heavenly Palace are also Martial Arts Geniuses from the Endless Chaos. When these Martial Arts Geniuses enter the Heavenly Palace, they start as Outer Disciples. They can cultivate within the Hongjun Heavenly Palace for a billion years. If they can’t be promoted to Inner Sect Disciples after a billion years, they must leave the Heavenly Palace to take on some duties outside, like He Jiu, who serves as an Area Main Hall Master in a small country.

Inner Sect Disciples aren’t subject to such restrictions. They can theoretically reside in the Hongjun Heavenly Palace forever, slowly cultivating and enhancing their strength. Once they reach a certain level, they have the possibility of being promoted to the management level of the Heavenly Palace, such as the role of an elder, and so on.

To become a Core Disciple is extremely difficult. For an Inner Disciple, there’s almost no hope of becoming a Core Disciple. In the last ten billion years, no Inner Sect Disciple has ever been promoted to Core Disciple.

Even the Nuwa Palace Master was never a Core Disciple. When Lady Nüwa first entered the Hongjun Heavenly Palace, she was an Outer Disciple. She later advanced to an Inner Disciple, and after her strength grew immensely, she took on the role of an elder. It wasn’t until she reached the Controller Level that she became the Chaos Hall Master of the Heavenly Palace.

The Nuwa Palace Master is the youngest of the nine Chaos Hall Masters in the Hongjun Heavenly Palace, and she has the least qualification and foundation.

Other Hall Masters have a group of followers, but the Nuwa Palace Master has very few.

After settling Jing Yan, the Nuwa Palace Master returned directly to the Heavenly Palace Hall. At the same time, she sent a message to each Hall Master as well as Vice Palace Master Quin.

Quin and others knew that the Nuwa Palace Master had gone to the Shelun Country to bring Jing Yan back, so they quickly returned to the Heavenly Palace Hall.

”Nuwa Palace Master, have you brought Jing Yan back?” Vice Palace Master Quin asked.

”Yes, Jing Yan has already accompanied me to the Hongjun Heavenly Palace,” the Nuwa Palace Master replied.

”Nuwa Palace Master, did you encounter any trouble on your way back with Jing Yan? Did anyone from the Void Divine Hall try to stop you?” Hall Master Qiu Lun asked.

The other Hall Masters also focused their gaze on the Nuwa Palace Master.

”Deputy Hall Master Tao Wu of the Void Divine Hall reached the Shelun Country before I did,” the Nuwa Palace Master said. ”Tao Wu demanded Chenyuan Emperor hand over Jing Yan, but Chenyuan Emperor refused and drove Tao Wu away.”

When everyone heard the first part of this statement from the Nuwa Palace Master, their expressions changed slightly. Tao Wu in the Void Divine Hall is a Deputy Hall Master, which is equivalent to the status of a Vice Palace Master in the Hongjun Heavenly Palace. Tao Wu personally went to the Shelun Country to demand someone, which showed how much the Void Divine Hall valued the killing of the Void Son. But hearing the latter part of the Nuwa Palace Master’s statement relieved them somewhat. They were puzzled, however, as to why the Chenyuan Emperor refused to hand over the person.

This was quite unusual!

”Nuwa Palace Master, since Tao Wu was the first to arrive at Shelun Country, why did the Chenyuan Emperor refuse to hand Jing Yan over to the Void Divine Hall? Was it because Tao Wu was disrespectful to the Chenyuan Emperor?” Vice Palace Master Qiu Lun asked in confusion.

Several Hall Masters also turned their eyes to the Nuwa Palace Master.

”No.”

”Chenyuan Emperor didn’t tell me the specific reason, but he said that anyone who wants to kill Jing Yan is his enemy. He also said that if the Void Divine Hall comes to the Hongjun Heavenly Palace to demand someone, the Void Divine Hall should go to the Shelun Country and find him, Chenyuan,” the Nuwa Palace Master explained truthfully to everyone.

At that time, the Chenyuan Emperor indeed said this.

The Nuwa Palace Master’s words left everyone even more puzzled.

Why was the Chenyuan Emperor so close to this Jing Yan?

”In any case, it’s good that we have brought him back. Now that he’s reached the Hongjun Heavenly Palace, Jing Yan is safe. As for the Void Divine Hall demanding a person, they will surely do so, but we won’t hand him over. What can the Void Divine Hall do?” Vice Palace Master Quin said with a smile.

”Exactly!”

”Jing Yan is one of us at the Hongjun Heavenly Palace, and we must protect him!” several Hall Masters quickly said.

The Nuwa Palace Master paused for a moment and continued, ”Vice Palace Master, fellow Hall Masters!”

”Now that Jing Yan has arrived at the Hongjun Heavenly Palace, should he immediately become a disciple of the Heavenly Palace?” the Nuwa Palace Master asked.

Though Jing Yan had entered the Hongjun Heavenly Palace, he was not yet a disciple, so he couldn’t obtain the Palace’s resources.

”Is there a need to hurry?” one Hall Master frowned.

”Nuwa Palace Master, do we need to discuss such a matter? You can bring Jing Yan to register,” Vice Palace Master Quin said with mild annoyance.

As a Chaos Hall Master of the Hongjun Heavenly Palace, discovering a promising talent in the Endless Chaos was well within her power to bring them to the Palace and have them become a disciple without consulting anyone else.

”Everyone, I want Jing Yan to directly obtain the qualification of a Core Disciple,” Nuwa Palace Master said, shaking her head.

”What?”

”How can this be? The qualification for a Core Disciple can’t be decided so hastily.”

”Indeed! There’s no rush, take it slowly,” most of the Hall Masters shook their heads.

The Nuwa Palace Master frowned, her gaze sweeping over the faces of everyone present.
