Chapter 817: Chapter 817: The Arrival of the Commandery Prince

Dean of Feihua Academy let out a sigh of relief inwardly when he saw the arrival of Xu Family Patriarch and his company.

Before the Xu Family members arrived, he had been worried that Jing Yan would escape, since he was not confident in being able to retain him. Should Jing Yan have left Feihua Academy, the Xu Family would undoubtedly have demanded an explanation from the academy.

Now that the Xu Family members had arrived, how to deal with Jing Yan would be completely handled by them.

”Clan Leader Xu!” The Dean greeted the Xu Family Patriarch with a bow.

”Dean!” The Xu Family Patriarch returned the greeting.

The Dean of Feihua Academy was no lesser in status than this Xu Family Patriarch, and one could even say the Dean’s position was somewhat more special than that of a clan leader in the commandery.

”Clan Leader Xu, this Mr. Jing Yan is a friend of Deacon Liu Xiaoyue, and there has been a misunderstanding between your grandson Xu Qiang and Deacon Liu Xiaoyue...” The Dean recounted the incident.

In fact, he knew that the Xu Family Patriarch must have already been aware of the whole story, but still, he needed to describe the entire affair formally. His description was relatively objective and did not favor anyone.

”Dean, I have a question!”

”Within Feihua Academy, is it really possible for an outsider to kill someone at will?” The Xu Family Patriarch looked at the Dean.

”Of course not!” The Dean frowned.

”Exactly, I also thought that within this academy, it wouldn’t be possible for an outsider to just kill someone inside the academy. As far as I know, even if it’s just internal students quarreling, they can’t just strike at will. But now, what’s going on here? This murderer is still sitting there drinking and laughing. Could it be that there is something I am not aware of?” The Xu Family Patriarch narrowed his eyes.

The Dean of Feihua Academy fell silent for a moment, not knowing how to explain.

”Dean, that young beast has violated the academy’s rules, hasn’t he? Now, shouldn’t Feihua Academy take action and apprehend that villain?” Great Elder Xu expressed indignantly.

”Yes! Dean, even though this person is extremely powerful, we have so many of us here; we can’t be intimidated by him, right? You and Clan Leader Xu are both powerful figures at the Daoist Master Realm!” Elder Zhou from the academy added from the side.

”Clan Leader Xu, the reason Feihua Academy has not dealt with this matter sooner was out of consideration for the Xu family. If Feihua Academy were to take action, then we could not hand him over to the Xu Family for disposition. The Law Hall of the students would adjudicate this matter.” The Dean ignored Elder Zhou from the academy, paused for a moment, and found an excuse for his nonintervention.

”Heh...” Xu Family Patriarch chuckled coldly.

”Clan Leader, why are we still waiting? If Feihua Academy is scared of that young beast, we Xu Family are not. Order us to take action!” Great Elder Xu called out loudly.

At that moment, Jing Yan rose from his stone bench.

His gaze fell on Great Elder Xu.

”Xu Qiang, is he your grandson?”

”I was just thinking, with a grandson so incompetent, you as a grandfather must not be any better. Now seeing you, it really is the case! Since it’s so, you might as well die now!” Jing Yan slowly stood up and spoke in an indifferent tone.

Then, he raised his hand and fluidly struck towards Great Elder Xu.

As it had been when Xu Qiang and Xu Bo died, it was exactly the same attack method, the same palm seal.

The palm seal condensed and instantly reached the top of Great Elder Xu’s head.

”No!” The complexion of Great Elder Xu drastically changed.

He had been circulating his Primordial Energy since his arrival, ready to take action at any time. Thus, when he saw this overwhelming palm seal, he instinctively began to gather Primordial Energy to defend against it. But the speed of the palm seal was too fast; he didn’t even have time to use his Martial Arts skills.

”Pfft!”

”Clatter!”

Great Elder Xu’s head burst open.

The body of Great Elder Xu collapsed.

Xu Family Patriarch stood very close beside Great Elder Xu. After glancing at the fallen Great Elder, his gaze sharply turned to Jing Yan, his face full of horror.

He wanted to save Great Elder Xu, but he too was completely too late to intervene. No sooner had the thought occurred to him than the elder by his side had died.

However, that wasn’t the main reason for his horror. What truly terrified him was that he was so close yet nearly couldn’t sense the Power radiating from the palm seal.

What did this imply?

As a Daoist of the Daoist Master Realm, Xu Family Patriarch was somewhat knowledgeable. He immediately realized that Jing Yan’s Martial Arts Strength was much stronger than he had imagined. Bringing many Xu Family elders here this time was probably a huge mistake.

At this time, the other Xu Family members also obediently shut their mouths, and many dripped with sweat on their foreheads, nervously watching Jing Yan.

Previously, they had only heard of Elder Xu Bo being killed, which didn’t affect them much. Now, having witnessed the Xu Family Great Elder being slapped to death, they suddenly understood why the Dean of Feihua Academy had insisted on not taking action.

At this time, two more figures approached the guest area of Feihua Academy.

”Prince, it seems the matter hasn’t been resolved yet; they are all still there!”

The speaker was the Chief Manager from the Guangying County Manor. After receiving news of the incident at Feihua Academy, he had promptly reported to the Prince, and then came to investigate together.

The Prince of Guangying County, named Xiao Zhiji, indeed had a good relationship with the Xu Family. Consequently, upon learning that Great Elder Xu’s grandson, Xu Qiang, and Elder Xu Bo of the Xu Family had been killed, he rushed to Feihua Academy from the Manor immediately.

”I don’t know who dared to take such a big risk and kill someone in our Guangying County’s Feihua Academy.” As they stepped into the guest area, the Chief Manager added another remark.

”Must not be ordinary at all! If it was easy to handle, Clan Leader Xu and his group wouldn’t still be sitting here!” Xiao Zhiji shook his head and whispered as he looked at the crowd ahead.

The two approached the crowd.

”Prince?” the Dean of Feihua Academy, seeing Prince Xiao Zhiji, called out softly.

”Prince, you’ve arrived?” Xu Family Patriarch quickly turned around, joyfully looking at the two approaching figures.

He had indeed been intimidated by the power Jing Yan had demonstrated, so for the moment, he couldn’t decide whether to advance or retreat.

But now with the arrival of the Prince, he finally took a deep breath. Given the relationship between the Xu Family and the Prince, the Prince couldn’t possibly refuse to help the Xu Family.

This Martial Artist called Jing Yan, no matter how formidable, couldn’t possibly dare to act recklessly in the presence of Guangying County’s Prince, could he?

However, at this moment, Xiao Zhiji completely ignored the Xu Family Patriarch’s greeting and instead fixed his gaze intently on Jing Yan.

Inside, he felt as if a mighty wave had surged up.

”Jing... Hall Master Jing Yan?” Xiao Zhiji’s mind went blank, fixated on a single thought.

Xiao Zhiji recognized Jing Yan, as Guangying County was directly governed by this Hall Master. Xiao Zhiji had been received by Jing Yan in Holy City, and although he had met him only once, Xiao Zhiji could never forget Jing Yan’s appearance.
