The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 722: Chapter 722: The Convention Begins

In the Alchemy Dao, Gui Yang was undoubtedly a colossus on the Heavenly Origin Continent.

If Gui Yang were to visit Jing Yan, could Jing Yan afford not to see him? Whether Jing Yan wanted to see him or not, he had to meet him.

Moreover, if Gui Yang’s visit was well-intentioned, Jing Yan would also be happy to meet him.

If Gui Yang truly desired the Longevity Pill, Jing Yan would be more than willing to use the Longevity Pill to forge a good relationship with a giant of the Alchemy Dao like Gui Yang.

But now, Gui Yang hadn’t come to visit Jing Yan’s residence. Instead, he had registered to participate in the Pill Discussion Conference. The implication of this move was difficult to assess. Jing Yan didn’t believe that Gui Yang, who hadn’t shown himself for hundreds of years, suddenly appeared to participate in the Pill Discussion Conference just to hear him talk about alchemy.

The words of the Seventh Hall Master made everyone ponder.

”Those who come have no good intentions,” Hu Donghe said with a grave tone.

”Jing Yan, what do you think? According to the rules of our Pill Discussion Conference, we have the right to reject Guiyang Great Pill King’s registration since he came after the deadline,” Hu Donghe asked Jing Yan.

”We could use the rules to prevent Gui Yang from participating in the Pill Discussion Conference. But once we do that, I’m afraid we will become a target for attacks. Some forces with ulterior motives are probably waiting for us to do just that. They would then take the opportunity to attack me,” Jing Yan said with a cold laugh.

Hu Donghe also laughed. He had naturally come to the same conclusion. Gui Yang’s followers were definitely numerous. Having presided over Pill Country for a thousand years, just how many people must have benefited from Gui Yang? If Jing Yan refused Gui Yang’s registration and the news spread, those followers would surely want to swallow Jing Yan alive.

”Yan Clan Chief, please return to the Splendid Dojo now and agree to register Guiyang Great Pill King for the Pill Discussion Conference,” Jing Yan said to the Yan Family Patriarch.

”Yes! I will go and do it now!” the Yan Family Patriarch replied, then left.

”Hall Master Jing Yan, Ghost Hand Gui Yang, who disappeared for hundreds of years, has appeared. Don’t you want to meet him?” Min Huo said, looking at Jing Yan.

”I’ll naturally be able to see him at the Pill Discussion Conference. Besides, Mr. Gui Yang is likely to be hostile! Go to visit him proactively? Better not,” Jing Yan shook his head.

If Ghost Hand Gui Yang’s attitude were friendly, Jing Yan wouldn’t mind making the first move to visit. However, from the current situation, it seemed quite likely that Ghost Hand Gui Yang bore hostility.

Under such circumstances, for Jing Yan to pay a visit? It was naturally impossible for him to do so.

”That’s true!” Min Huo nodded in agreement.

Three days passed in a blink of an eye.

On this day, the Splendid Dojo was bustling with people.

Vast numbers of martial artists and pill masters had arrived at the outskirts of the dojo early in the morning to wait for the dojo to open.

To maintain order, Saint Master Shen Chong had specially dispatched a team of the Holy Palace’s Armored Guard to the Splendid Dojo.

”So many people!”

”Yeah, who would have thought Jing Yan had such a big influence. Hosting a Pill Discussion Conference really drew in a crowd.”

”Indeed, it is said that thousands of pill masters want to hear Jing Yan’s alchemy lecture.”

”Rumors claim that Jing Yan is a Great Alchemist King, but who knows if it’s true or not. This Jing Yan, he seems to be only in his thirties! At that age, could he be a Great Alchemist King? Even though people talk as if they’ve got it all figured out, I still don’t believe it.”

”I don’t believe it either. Were it that easy to become a Great Alchemist King, wouldn’t the Heavenly Origin Continent be crawling with them?”

”Haha, probably just trying to sensationalize things to attract people to the conference and boost his own fame!”

Murmurs of discussion spread amongst the crowd.

The Pill Discussion Daoist divided the venue primarily into two areas.

The first area required registration, core information, and a corresponding token to enter.

The second area was much more relaxed. Even those who had not registered their identities could mix in with those who had and slip in. However, they could only stay on the periphery and could not interact directly with Jing Yan, who was hosting the Pill Discussion Conference.

Over three thousand pill masters had registered, while more than fifty thousand martial artists had registered their information.

If you also counted the martial artists who hadn’t registered but mixed in with others, the number of martial artists who came to the Splendid Dojo today could exceed one hundred thousand.

Fortunately, Jing Yan had the foresight to build the dojo on a grand scale to accommodate all these people.

At this moment, in a nearby tavern close to the Splendid Dojo, a few figures were conversing in a room.

”The dojo is now open and can be entered at any time,” said an old man in a black robe with a raspy voice.

Had Jing Yan been there, he would have recognized the speaker as Elder Gu Xianlun of the Gai Family.

The two people, who had followed Gu Wanquan into the Despair Abyss to hunt down Jing Yan, were these two Dao Emperor Realm powerhouses – Gu Xianlun and Gu Mo.

Gu Mo had already been killed by Jing Yan.

”It’s time for us to set off,” said an old man with a goatee on the left, a flash of sharpness in his eyes.

This man, lean but radiating explosive power, gave off an intimidating presence.

”Mr. Tong Yue, Mr. Gui Yang, on behalf of the Gai Family, I thank you once again for your assistance,” Gu Xianlun said, rising to his feet and giving a slight bow to the two men seated across from him.

”It’s my pleasure, Elder Xian Lun. It’s my wish to serve the Gai Family,” replied the goateed old man, smiling as he stood up.

This man was Tong Yue.

His name, too, had shaken the Heavenly Origin Continent hundreds of years ago. Known for his ruthlessness, it was said that, in a fit of rage, he once wiped out an entire city on the Continent.

This act had enraged the Saint Master Shen Chong, who personally, along with several Hall Masters, attempted to surround and kill him. However, in the end, they failed to kill Tong Yue. But under pressure from the Saint Master and the Hall Masters, Tong Yue compromised and agreed to live in seclusion, never to show his face on the Heavenly Origin Continent again.

Hundreds of years of silence had caused many on the Continent to forget him.

Unexpectedly, he had now reappeared, and it seemed he was ready to work for the Gai Family.

”Let’s go. I, too, wish to see just how capable this young pill master, barely over thirty, truly is,” said another old man in a white robe as he stood up and spoke indifferently.

Clearly, he was the Great Pill King known as Ghost Hand Gui Yang, whose mere mention made Hu Donghe catch his breath.

”Mr. Gui Yang, Mr. Tong Yue, after you,” Gu Xianlun said with a smile, making a welcoming gesture with his hand.

The three men then left the tavern.

Following them were several more Gai Family Dao King Realm warriors.

At the same time, members from several other Great Families also began leaving their residing taverns at roughly the same time, heading towards the Splendid Dojo. Each of these Great Families was led by a Dao Emperor Realm Practitioner.

Clearly, they had not registered their information. Had they done so, they could have directly resided in the Splendid Dojo instead of staying outside in the taverns.

The Splendid Dojo offered special treatment to those in the Dao Emperor Realm, allowing them to stay in the dojo ahead of time.
