Chapter 716: Chapter 716: Heavenly Repairing Pill

The Pill Formula for the Heavenly Repairing Pill was also obtained by Jing Yan from the second part of the Qiankun Pill Path legacy that he acquired from the Death Temple.

The first part of the legacy contained formulas for First to Ninth-level Elixirs. The second part of the Alchemy Dao legacy concerned the true Divine Pills. The Heavenly Repairing Pill that Jing Yan planned to refine was one of those.

Divine Pills fundamentally surpassed Ninth-level Elixirs in essence. There was no comparison between the two.

Even Jing Yan himself was not confident in refining the Heavenly Repairing Pill, although he could reach or even exceed a fifty percent chance of achieving Perfect Quality when refining Ninth-level Elixirs. But refining Divine Pills, he had no confidence whatsoever.

However, one would never know if it was possible to succeed without trying.

The ingredients needed to refine the Heavenly Repairing Pill included, as the most important, Soul Containing Grass, Ten-thousand-year-old Plum Blossom Dew, and Dao Essence Fruit, among other rare items.

Jing Yan now had quite a bit of the Ten-thousand-year-old Plum Blossom Dew, amounting to dozens of drops. As for Soul Containing Grass, he temporarily only had two plants.

Therefore, the process of refining the Heavenly Repairing Pill had to be done with utmost care and caution. Otherwise, failing twice in a row would mean he might not have an opportunity to try again in the short term, unless he found more Soul Containing Grass.

Refining the Heavenly Repairing Pill also required a special material - Divine Crystals. Indeed, it involved directly extracting the essence of Divine Crystals within the Pill Furnace and infusing it into the Elixir.

Jing Yan still had quite a few Divine Crystals on hand, roughly over eight hundred.

He had obtained over nine hundred Divine Crystals from Ling Luo’s Ancient Cave Mansion, but the years of cultivation had consumed some, leaving him with just over eight hundred.

”Let’s begin!” Jing Yan made up his mind.

After instructing his servants that no one was allowed to disturb him, Jing Yan entered a secret chamber to close himself in and began preparing to refine the Heavenly Repairing Pill.

Familiar with every step of Alchemy to the marrow of his bones,

Jing Yan was still extra careful in his first refining of a Divine Pill, fearing any slightest oversight.

According to the information on the Qiankun Pill Path, the refining process for Divine Pills, compared to regular Elixirs, was largely similar, with no significant differences in the basic steps.

The first step was extraction, the second step was tempering, the third step was shaping, and the fourth step was stabilizing.

Jing Yan didn’t feel difficulty in the extraction; it wasn’t much different from the refining of the Ten Thousand Spirit Returning to Origin Pill and the Longevity Pill, the whole process went smoothly.

However, during the second step of tempering, Jing Yan felt a sudden increase in difficulty. The consumption of Primordial Power increased tenfold.

Caught somewhat off guard by this abrupt change, Jing Yan nearly failed at this step. However, he managed to complete the tempering step with the strong support of his robust Primordial Power.

Carefully, he commenced the third step, shaping.

”Hiss~”

”This...”

As soon as the shaping began, Jing Yan was greatly shocked, and his complexion changed drastically.

Because at this moment, Jing Yan actually felt the fluctuation of Laws.

It’s known that in the refining of other Elixirs, Laws would only descend and integrate into the Elixir during perfect formation. However, with the Heavenly Repairing Pill, the Laws started to be invoked as early as the shaping step.

Jing Yan hurriedly released his Divine Soul to isolate the space around him. He then concentrated on manipulating Primordial Energy and Source Power to continue shaping the Elixir.

A day passed...

Three days passed...

Ten days went by like flowing water.

Even Jing Yan began to sweat from his brow. His Primordial Energy was consumed by a great deal.

Fortunately, Jing Yan was well-prepared. He swallowed Elixirs that replenished Primordial Energy.

After half a month, the third step of shaping was completed, and the refining of the Elixir progressed to the fourth step of stabilizing.

This stabilizing process was comparatively easy. After merely three days, Jing Yan seemingly completed it smoothly.

At this point, sensing the Elixir within the Pill Furnace, Jing Yan could no longer calm his thoughts.

Whether it was a success or failure, Jing Yan was not sure. In refining other Elixirs, even Ninth-level Elixirs, he would know before even opening the furnace if the Elixir was stabilized successfully. However, with the Heavenly Repairing Pill, Jing Yan lacked any certainty.

If it was successful, using the Heavenly Repairing Pill for cultivation would allow Jing Yan’s Martial Arts practice to soar.

”One must eventually retrieve it!” Jing Yan thought, and he suddenly opened the Pill Furnace.

Guided by Primordial Energy, he extracted several Elixirs swirling with Laws from within.

”Puff puff puff~”

As soon as the Elixirs were taken out, they disintegrated and vanished into space.

Pure energy dispersed in all directions.

Jing Yan was briefly stunned, then quickly activated the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill, taking deep breaths of the air within the space.

Threads of efficacy entered his body, instantly invigorating him.

However, after a few breaths, the efficacy of the Elixirs in the space eventually dissipated completely.

”It’s a failure,” Jing Yan frowned.

To say he was disappointed would be true, but he was also prepared for failure. Failing in his first attempt to refine a Divine Pill should be considered normal. The pity was the loss of so many materials, including the loss of over ten Divine Crystals.

”Why did it fail?”

”Where did the problem lie?” Jing Yan pondered over every step he took, wishing to understand where the issue occurred.

Comparing it with the Qiankun Pill Path, Jing Yan scrutinized step by step.

”It doesn’t seem like there were any mistakes.”

”The control didn’t have issues. Though my Primordial Energy consumption was huge, replenishment was very timely.”

”The first three steps shouldn’t be the problem. Perhaps, the issue lies in the stabilization.” After pondering for more than a day, Jing Yan eventually shook his head, suspecting that the problem lay in the fourth step of stabilization.

However, he still didn’t know what the exact problem was.

If he couldn’t understand what went wrong, then even if he tried again, it was likely to yield the same result; he would still find it difficult to successfully refine the Heavenly Repairing Pill.

”Jing Yan!” At this moment, Senior Tianshui’s Divine Soul appeared before Jing Yan.

”Senior Tianshui,” Jing Yan greeted him upon seeing Tianshui, his eyes suddenly lighting up. ”Senior Tianshui, you were a powerhouse of the Saint Realm and also mastered the Qiankun Pill Path. Do you know where I went wrong in refining the Heavenly Repairing Pill?”

Under Jing Yan’s expectant gaze, Tianshui shook his head.

”Jing Yan, I’ve never tried refining a Divine Pill.”

”And even if I wanted to refine one, I wouldn’t know the Pill Formula for Divine Pills. The Pill Formula you have was obtained from the second part of the Qiankun Pill Path, while I only mastered the first part,” Tianshui explained, shaking his head.

”That’s true,” Jing Yan nodded in disappointment.

Although Senior Tianshui had stepped into the Saint Realm, he had not received the second part of the legacy from the master of the Death Temple. Tianshui hadn’t even seen those Life Puppets in the Death Temple.

”But...” Tianshui suddenly changed the subject.

”I may not have refined Divine Pills, but I have heard some rumors. I am not sure whether they are true or not. I’ll share them, and you can consider it as a reference,” Tianshui paused and said.
