Vampire Progenitor System

Drax stared at him—really stared this time.

Lucifer. The kid who used to sit cross-legged in their courtyard, nibbling fruit and staring at the stars like he was one of them. The same brat who once asked Drax if he could see his fangs after seeing him one day when he showed his true face. Back then, Drax had laughed, compelled him to forget after telling him when he grows older.

And now?

That brat was telling him—Drax, an Elder among Elders—to run or die.

He almost laughed. Almost.

Instead, he cracked his neck to the side. Bones popped like breaking branches.

”So that’s it, huh?” he said, voice deep, rough, like gravel dragged across a tombstone. ”The runt grew teeth.”

Lucifer said nothing. He stood there, loose, unbothered, like Drax was a background prop.

Drax’s grin tightened. ”I should’ve ripped out your heart when I had the chance.”

He spread his arms.

And the ground bled.

Literally. Deep red veins erupted from the cracked battlefield, slithering up Drax’s boots like snakes. Blood pooled around him—not just his, but everyone’s. Every corpse. Every drop spilled tonight surged toward him like they heard his call.

The air shifted again.

Lucifer narrowed his eyes.

”You really think you’re the only one who’s changed?” Drax said. ”I’ve bathed in blood older than kingdoms. Learned things no vampire should know. Let me show you.”

He threw his arms forward.

Blood spears erupted from the ground, dozens of them, razor-sharp and glistening. They howled as they shot forward—fast, angry, twisting mid-air.

Lucifer vanished.

Shadowstep.

One blink, he was gone. Next blink, he stood behind Drax, hand cocked back.

Drax spun.

Too late.

Lucifer’s fist slammed into his face—Drax flew.

A sonic boom cracked the air as Drax’s body smashed through two broken pillars and skidded across the field, leaving a trench of shattered stone and pulverized earth.

Lucifer blurred again—appeared in front of him mid-skid—and kicked him upward.

Drax’s body went airborne like a missile.

Lucifer followed.

Mid-air, the two clashed—fists, claws, blood-formed weapons slashing and crashing. Shockwaves rippled outward, tearing apart the sky. Below, the field cracked like dry skin.

Drax caught Lucifer’s wrist with one hand and slammed his forehead into his nose.

Crack.

Blood sprayed.

Lucifer twisted his arm, broke free, and uppercutted him so hard Drax’s jaw snapped sideways.

But the Elder didn’t fall.

He grinned.

His face already healing, blood around him boiling and writhing.

”You think I’m slow, boy?” Drax’s voice echoed around them.

The air vibrated.

Then ten Draxes formed around Lucifer—each forged from blood. Each snarling.

Blood Clones.

They struck as one.

Lucifer gritted his teeth and moved. Blurring between them. Each strike a blur. Each dodge impossibly timed.

He grabbed one clone, used it like a bat to smash two others, then spun mid-air and howled—

”PROGENITOR’S AURA!”

A red wave exploded outward.

The clones evaporated.

Drax dropped from above, claws extended, aiming for Lucifer’s throat.

Lucifer raised a single arm—and caught the strike.

But his forearm tore.

Blood splashed in mid-air.

Drax landed on top of him and bit into his shoulder—deep.

Lucifer growled. ”Tch.”

He grabbed Drax’s face and jammed his thumb into the Elder’s eye.

Squelch.

Drax screamed, stumbled back, eye socket oozing black-red.

Lucifer’s shoulder healed instantly—and then boiled.

His blood hissed.

The wound reversed, pushing Drax’s tainted blood out of his system.

”Your blood’s rotten,” Lucifer muttered.

Drax chuckled, even with one eye half-melted. ”Still tastes better than yours, brat.”

Lucifer’s foot crashed into his gut.

Boom.

Drax folded. Flew again. Skidded. Flipped. Landed on all fours, coughing.

Lucifer walked toward him slowly.

The wind howled.

Behind them, the battlefield looked like a god went berserk—flames, broken stone, bodies, blood mist clinging to the air like fog.

”You always talked big,” Lucifer said, voice low. ”Now I see it. You were just a dog with tricks.”

Drax rose.

His mouth twisted into something between a grin and a snarl. He raised both arms—and the sky cracked.

All the blood on the battlefield—all of it—rose like smoke, twisting upward into a vortex above him.

Then it slammed down.

A colossal blood dragon formed behind Drax. Twenty feet tall. Wings of liquid shadow. Fangs that dripped boiling red.

Lucifer raised an eyebrow. ”That’s new.”

Drax wiped his mouth. ”I call it Hemorrhage. Let’s see you walk through this.”

He roared. The dragon roared with him.

It dove.

Lucifer stood still.

At the last moment, he stepped to the side. Just once.

The dragon missed. Slammed into the earth. Exploded.

The shockwave leveled half the ruined battlefield. Dust and smoke flew.

But Lucifer was gone.

Drax blinked.

”Whe—”

A whisper behind him.

”Too slow.”

Lucifer rammed both fists into Drax’s back.

Bones cracked. Ribs popped like wet twigs.

Drax screamed—but Lucifer grabbed him by the neck and lifted.

”I don’t need dragons,” he whispered.

Then he slammed Drax into the ground.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

Blood sprayed in every direction. Craters formed under the impact.

Then Lucifer raised his hand—and every shadow nearby twitched.

They converged. Wrapped around Drax’s limbs. Tight.

He couldn’t move.

Lucifer crouched beside him. ”I warned you.”

Drax spat blood. ”You... think this... is over?”

Lucifer leaned in close.

”You’re already dead. You just haven’t stopped moving yet.”

Then he stood.

His hands glowed red.

Blood Manipulation.

Drax’s body convulsed.

The blood inside him turned.

Spun.

Twisted.

It started burning him from the inside.

”GAAARGH!”

Drax screamed. His flesh melted. Eyes rolled back.

His veins lit up—bright red lines under his skin pulsing like overcharged wires.

He tried to move.

Lucifer snapped his fingers.

Drax’s legs exploded.

Then his arms.

Then his chest imploded like it was crushed by an invisible fist.

Lucifer watched. Calm. Silent.

Drax gasped, half-body twitching.

Lucifer raised a hand.

A single blood spear formed.

He didn’t throw it.

He walked forward.

Kneeled.

And shoved it through Drax’s heart—slowly.

Drax choked. Reached up.

Lucifer caught his wrist.

”Your mistake,” he said coldly, ”was thinking I was still the kid who looked up to you.”

He twisted the spear.

Crack.

Drax’s heart exploded.

And finally, he stopped moving.

Lucifer stood.

No joy. No rage.

Just silence.

He looked at his blood-covered hands.

Then wiped them on Drax’s cloak.

Behind him, the sky rumbled. The battlefield was still.

Ash fell like snow.

He turned his head slightly. ”You can come out now.”

No sound.

But he felt the presence.

Dozens. Maybe more.

Eyes watching.

Waiting.

He cracked his neck.

Red eyes glowed once more.

”Let them know what happens when they send insects to fight monsters.”

He vanished in a blur of shadows.

The air stayed still.

Only the broken corpse of Drax remained.
