Vampire Progenitor System

The night air was thick with blood and ash. The faint glow of embers flickered across the broken street as Lucifer and his crew walked back into the safehouse—bodies of monsters piled behind them, their latest hunt a clean success.

Lucifer cracked his neck lazily, stretching his arms above his head. ”Zane, you’ve really been pulling in the good stuff lately.”

Zane leaned against the wall, flipping through his black notepad. ”Intel doesn’t lie. And with the way we are getting stronger, it’s getting easier.”

Lucifer smirked as his vampires stood behind him, their bodies still glowing faintly with absorbed monster essence. Some cracked their knuckles, others leaned silently against the wall, their presence like a quiet storm. These weren’t your average vampires. These were hunters.

And Lucifer? He was their cheat code.

Every kill they made added to his exp points. Every monster they drained with their Essence Absorption made them stronger and made him level up even faster. It was unfair.

It was perfect.

Then the air shifted.

A pulse of raw energy burst out from the basement.

Lucifer’s eyes flicked toward the stairway. ”That him?”

”Yeah...” Zane said, narrowing his eyes. ”Last one you turned that night.”

The floorboards groaned.

Then he stepped into view.

The room fell silent.

He was tall—huge—a head taller than Mob. Muscles like sculpted stone rippled beneath tight skin. His black hair was longer now, reaching his neck. His eyes weren’t red like the others. They were burning violet, and there was a strange mist curling from his body like smoke.

Lucifer whistled. ”Damn. That’s not normal.”

He snapped his fingers. A glowing panel opened before him as he checked the guy’s stats.

Lucifer blinked.

”System,” he muttered mentally. ”What the hell is a Draugr Vampire?”

[Ding!

A Draugr Vampire is a rare cursed variant. Originally undead warriors, Draugrs are known for their relentless strength, unkillable bodies, and resistance to pain. Mixed with vampirism, they become apex predators—strong, smart, fast. Difficult to control. Even more difficult to kill.]

Lucifer raised a brow. ”That’s why he looks like a damn war god...”

[The Draugr Vampire was not supposed to evolve this fast. His body adapted aggressively to the turning process, accelerating his transformation. Proceed with caution.]

Lucifer stepped forward. His vampires tensed, ready to move in case anything went wrong.

But the man just stood there, head slightly tilted, as if trying to recognize them.

”You remember anything?” Lucifer asked.

The man looked up. His voice was deep, calm. ”I remember pain. And... you. I remember your voice.”

Lucifer smiled. ”That’s good. Means your mind’s intact.”

”I feel... hungry,” he added, flexing his fingers. ”But not for blood. For something more.”

Lucifer glanced at Zane. ”Get him fed. A Class-C beast, nothing lower. If he devours it too fast, bring a B-rank.”

”You’re just gonna let him walk free?” Anita asked from the side, arms folded. ”He’s got the vibe of a final boss.”

”I created him,” Lucifer said with a shrug. ”He’s mine. And if he goes crazy... I’ll put him down myself.”

Alessia raised an eyebrow. ”You sure about that?”

Lucifer grinned, fangs sharp. ”Nope.”

The man stood silent, then knelt on one knee, head bowed.

”I serve... you.”

Lucifer stared, then sighed. ”Damn. This might actually work out.”

The next day

”This is my first time going back to school... and I already hate it,” Lucifer muttered, standing in front of the college gate like it was the entrance to hell itself.

The sun was barely up, but the campus was already buzzing. Students walked past with coffee, headphones, and that fake early-morning energy. Lucifer just stared at the big iron gates with a dead expression.

”I still don’t get why anyone would willingly attend something like this,” Ruka said, standing beside him with arms folded. His uniform was perfectly clean, but he looked like he was ready to punch someone already.

”Maybe because people actually come here to learn,” Temmy chimed in as she and Francisca arrived behind them.

Temmy wasted no time. She slipped her arm around Ruka’s and leaned in for a kiss.

Lucifer cringed and turned away. ”Can you not? At least respect my presence, damn.”

Temmy looked over her shoulder, giving Lucifer a cheeky grin. ”Then maybe get yourself a girlfriend, old man.”

Francisca giggled. ”Yeah, stop being bitter.”

Lucifer turned his sharp gaze on her. ”Say another word and I’m telling Mob what you—”

Before he could finish, Francisca quickly stepped in and covered his mouth with her hand, eyes wide. ”Ssshhh! Okay, okay! We’re good. Please don’t.”

Lucifer raised a brow, smirking behind her hand. ”Mmhmm.”

”I hate you,” she whispered.

He pulled her hand down and smiled. ”I know.”

For the past two weeks, Ruka and Temmy had been living with Lucifer in his apartment — not just as friends, but as his closest allies. They were the only ones who knew about his true plans, apart from Ella. And they weren’t just supporting him... they were in it with him, all the way.

Every night, Lucifer hunted. Rogue creatures, stray monsters, cursed spirits — anything Zane could dig up, Lucifer and his crew cleared out. And with the Draugr now part of his arsenal, things got easier... way easier.

That undead monster was a one-man army. Fast, brutal, and scarily smart. Lucifer had already sent him out on solo hunts using Zane’s latest intel, and every hour, experience points rolled in like cash.

With that, Lucifer had grown stronger. Much stronger.
