The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 857: Chapter 857: A Strange Place

According to the previous plan, Han Jing, Su Yu, Lianwu, and Xiao Xue would go to the bottom of the cliff, while Han Siqu, Lan Ling, Ting Luo, and Lian Xichen continued elsewhere to search for any new clues.

After confirming there were no other issues, they began their separate actions.

Han Jing and Su Yu’s team descended along the cliff. Midway, they didn’t encounter any special circumstances. When they reached the barrier, Su Yu suddenly said, ”Wait a second, this barrier is not simple.”

Han Jing was surprised, ”What do you mean?”

Instead of hastily breaking the barrier, Su Yu observed it carefully and then said to Han Jing, ”This barrier was set up by at least a White Flame Level expert. To break this barrier, one would need at least a Purple Flame Level 8 strength. Youyou and the others don’t have this capability. So, either they were brought in rather than fell in, or they aren’t here at all.”

If it were just the three of them, even working together, breaking this barrier would be impossible. Youyou’s strength is not weak, but only around Purple Flame Level 3, far from enough to break this barrier, let alone Yun Feng and An Chuxue.

This point is odd because battle signs are above, indicating they’ve fought. But if a White Flame Level expert attacked them, none of the three would have had any room for resistance, let alone fight.

So, it’s a bit strange.

Han Jing glanced at Su Yu, acknowledging his doubts were reasonable. She turned to ask Xiao Xue, ”Xiao Xue, if An’an’s mother is nearby, do you have a way to sense it?”

Han Jing knew Xiao Xue had many magical artifacts and had been deeply trained by the Ghost Ancestor, now having Lianwu’s guidance might mean he could find a way to locate An Chuxue.

Xiao Xue shook his head, ”This barrier is too strong, I can’t find her unless we go inside.”

Xiao Xue held strands of An Chuxue’s hair collected during his studies, which would allow him to locate her if she were indeed close, but the barrier’s power was beyond his reach.

Han Jing pondered for a moment and said, ”Then let’s go inside. We’re here already, we have to take a look no matter what.”

Su Yu nodded, ”Be careful, I’m starting.”

Having undergone partial refinement by the Shengxue Pearl and cleansed in the Blood Purification Pool, Su Yu’s power had now reached White Flame Level 3, making it feasible to break the barrier. However, whether the person who set the barrier was stronger or weaker than him, he couldn’t be sure.

Countless white lights surged from Su Yu’s palms and tunneled into the barrier. In just a moment, a gap was broken in the barrier. Seizing the opportunity, Su Yu grabbed Han Jing’s arm and flew through the gap into the barrier, with Lianwu also bringing Xiao Xue inside.

However, upon entering the barrier, before they even had a chance to steady themselves, there was an eerie tremor underfoot. Instantly, Su Yu lifted Han Jing into the air, suspending them above. Only then did they see clearly the scene within the barrier, which was beyond imagination.

Under where they had just stood, were pitch-black beetles of various bizarre shapes, numbering incredibly high, densely spread across the ground, enough to make anyone’s skin crawl.
