Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 477: Chapter 477 You Lost

Wan Fuyu carefully considered the demands of Cheng Su and her team. Reluctantly, he had to admit they were right: issuing a statement from his own side meant he could word it however he liked, shifting the blame onto Liu Weiguang. But if Cheng Su and her team were to speak out, that wouldn’t necessarily be the case.

So, Wan Fuyu agreed to make a public apology.

Before leaving, Wan Fuyu glared at Cheng Su and said, ”Today, I’ve once again witnessed how formidable you and President Cheng are. The youth are to be feared, truly to be feared! We at Friendly underestimated you. In the future, you will surely continue to be a powerful competitor to us at Friendly!”

Cheng Su smiled faintly. ”Boss Wan, your jam isn’t bad at all. As long as you put a little more effort into research, you might catch up with us. Unfortunately, you’ve headed in the wrong direction,” she said.

Wan Fuyu’s face changed slightly.

”Originally, Friendly could have beaten Joy Soon Loy, but now, Friendly has lost completely. Do you understand, Boss Wan?” Cheng Su said with a meaningful look on her face.

They lost in character. Regardless of whether Wan Fuyu was involved in the incident, he had already lost. How could one win by not using genuine skills, but relying on underhanded tactics?

Therefore, he lost!

Wan Fuyu pursed his lips, gave her a deep look, and then left.

As soon as he was gone, Ning Ge and Cheng Su high-fived each other: ”Yes!”

”By the way, didn’t we agree to issue a statement and hit back? Why did you let them issue it themselves? Isn’t that letting them off the hook? He will definitely pin this thing on Liu Weiguang,” Ning Ge asked curiously.

Cheng Su replied, ”The eyes of the public are sharp. He can pin it on Liu Weiguang, but the company isn’t owned by Liu Weiguang. These days, who doesn’t know about scapegoats?” She paused and then added, ”Moreover, letting them issue the statement themselves, don’t you think it’s more satisfying to see them slap their own faces?”

After she spoke, she walked into her office.

Ning Ge was stunned for a moment: ”Slapping their own faces.” He thought about that scene and couldn’t help laughing loudly: ”Absolutely satisfying!”

Up ahead, the corners of Cheng Su’s lips curved up.

With this matter resolved, it was time to deal with the betrayer, Chen Zhiquan. Dismissal was inevitable. Considering his attitude of admitting his guilt, Cheng Su did not fine him. However, given that he had caused some damage to the company’s reputation, she withheld all his wages and bonuses.

Chen Zhiquan himself did not expect Cheng Su to forgive him so easily and keep him around. Even if she did, he wouldn’t have the face to stay, given his lapse in judgment.

So, regarding Cheng Su’s decision, Chen Zhiquan had no objections whatsoever. It was his fault, after all; he had no place to expect more.

”President Cheng, I am sorry!” Chen Zhiquan gave Cheng Su a deep bow.

Cheng Su said, ”Zhiquan, it’s good to be filial, but blind filial piety can drag you into the mire. Some forms of filial piety require a little ruthlessness. If you want to climb out of the mire, you have to be tougher—unless of course, you don’t want to climb out at all.”

Cheng Su had seen too many like Chen Zhiquan, dragged down by their own families. He worked hard enough, but his efforts were undermined by his family. To break free from these shackles, he had to be merciless.

As the employer, this was her final piece of advice to him, out of respect for their past relationship.

Chen Zhiquan shuddered slightly, his eyes moistened, and he nodded. Then without looking back, he walked away.

Cheng Su used this incident to give a warning to everyone in the company, finally settling the dust of the false accusation.
