The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 715: Universal Truths Said by the Echidna

”Echidna!! I’m stuffed!! I can’t eat anymore...” Evangeline says, pushing her plate forward. I glance out the window at the planet where Pandora lives, out there in the distance. It’s always such a beautiful sight, seeing that planet from here on the moon.

”Alright, you can stop now...”

”Echidna, how do you cook so well?” Evangeline says, licking her plate even after claiming she doesn’t want any more.

”It’s because I’m old. I’ve got a skill for cooking well.”

”Really? Wow! My divine sister seems way more versatile than I expected. These last five years with you have been incredible, and I’ve learned so much about you, but I still don’t get why you’re good at everything!”

”That’s also because I’m old—”

”Being old is not an answer, sis!! Please! Tell me the secret.”

”...I already told you, the answer is literally my age. All goddesses have many skills, and the older you get, the more skills you have. But a lot of them are mundane or not very strong for our power level.”

”So I know how to do everything, from cooking to carpentry, because I have skills for it that I ended up awakening over time. So I’m capable of many things because of that,” I say to her, looking at her breasts. Evangeline is so adorable.

She really reminds me so much of the past, before she died and reincarnated as a human.

”That makes sense! But you’re not that old, right?”

”You’d be surprised how old I really am... Do you have a question? You’re very talkative today. You’re usually quieter, like a cute little animal.”

”....” Evangeline stands up and then lifts her shirt, showing her stomach.

”This thing appeared here... I’m screwed, right?” she asks as I see vibrant black marks spreading across her belly. They look like countless cracks starting from where her womb is and expanding outward.

”...Yes, you’re going to die, Evangeline... your body is being contaminated by all the semen I pour into you. My mana is slowly destroying your body, and those black marks are proof of that...”

”But don’t worry, I’ve already bound your soul to this place. A courtesy trick I learned from Pandora. As soon as you die, I’ll give you another body, so don’t worry. You can die peacefully. A copy of you will be waiting for you as soon as you return,” I explain to her, and she gives a little smile.

”You’re so mean...” she says, caressing her belly with the index finger of her right hand.

”Shouldn’t your presence destroy the moon and the entire nearby planetary system?”

”The castle prevents that. The barrier around it suppresses any damage my mana causes. You are the only side effect of living with me.”

”Do you feel bad about it?” I question her, not wanting my sister to suffer because of this, even if she is merely a reincarnation and not really ”her.”

”No, I already made peace with dying young even before we lived together!! I never expected to live long! And with you, I will live long! But hey, when will this thing in my belly kill me?”

”Probably in about a year, if you’re not further contaminated. But considering our sexually intense routine, probably two months. It will grow and spread out from your belly, womb, and lower organs, and reach your heart, making it explode from the inside out.”

”W-Wow, that’s gruesome.” She shivers, as if she had pictured exactly the scene that will happen.

”When I die, will you cry, even though I’ll be back shortly after in another body?”

”...Yes, I will cry for you...”

”Echidna, let’s change the subject now!? I want to talk about Pandora! She never came to visit us! How mean!! She has to come visit her auntie before she explodes! Could you call her to visit me?”

”Why?”

”I want to try something special. I want to fuck both of you together!! I’ll be the only being in existence to fuck the Goddess of the Abyss and the Goddess of the Apocalypse at the same time! Besides, having relations with mother and daughter participating together will be so exciting.”

”...You’ve gotten naughtier recently...” I say, finishing my meal.

”Really?... damn!! A question just popped into my head out of nowhere!! A doubt about the universe and existence. Why is our world so depraved? Studying old records, the world where the heroes came from was way less sexually active than ours!”

”...Interesting that you noticed that. Many people don’t question it, but yes, there is a reason for it.” In reality, there is a reason why Pandora, I, Evangeline, and several other beings have extremely high lust.

Just like demons in general and even races like sirens, it’s not simply ”lust” or ”naughtiness.” There is actually a universal rule that connects everything and makes sexual activities biologically encouraged for all beings.

”In our universe, there are rules and laws that define balance. One of them is linked to status and the level system. Most beings are trapped at a Fixed Maximum level, as you know.”

”However, what happens if a limited being starts absorbing ambient mana without stopping? They would die, usually exploding from excess magic.”

”To prevent this, there are biological activities that make your body release mana. One of them is sex, which is quite efficient. Anything sexual you do releases mana in fluids, which helps with that burden—”

”Hey, hey, hey, wait!! Are you serious? There’s a law in the universe that defines this!?” she asks incredulously, as if she thought I was joking when I said there was a reason.

”Did you really think everyone was just lustful for no reason and nothing more? Our universe is quite complex.”

”W-Wait, is that why Pandora is so lustful?”

”In part, yes. It’s a mix of personal interest, reproductive biology, and the excess mana her body always has.”

”H-Hahaha... th-that’s insane! There’s a law in the universe for this... I thought it was just because our world didn’t have many forms of entertainment, so sex became a form of entertainment...”

”In part, it is,” I reply to her.

”It’s just that it’s not the only factor. Besides, the magic released during sexual activities isn’t even that high. Fighting expends much more. I was just answering your question.” Evangeline seems in shock.

”So other universes aren’t as lustful as ours?”

”Probably not. In fact, you’d be surprised by the kind of thing that is a universal law. Even some of the most basic things in your life have a universal law defining them to be useful for something.”

”...No way!!? Like what?” she says in disbelief.

”Food. The reality is that in this universe, you don’t need organic matter like food. You only need mana. Mana is the fuel that moves our bodies.”

”That’s precisely why I was able to give Pandora a skill that allowed her to chew and digest anything, because that process breaks down everything she eats and turns it into mana.”

”...” Evangeline looks at the food in front of her as if it had stopped being food and had become a piece of dirt.

”A-Anything else? Th-there can’t possibly be more, right?”

”...” I stare at her without saying anything.

”T-Tell me!!! I-I want to know everything about the universe!!” she says, seeming more shocked and eager to discover what is false in her worldview than to actually gain interesting knowledge.

”I can tell you. We have plenty of time and plenty of things to mention.”
