The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 70: Rescue

I quickly grow wings, while expanding my mana to the max, I use the shadows to teleport the egg while reinforcing my body to the max with the mana that Violet provides me.

The first thing I see as I enter the shadows is the snake’s mouth almost biting me, it woke up and got here so fast that I barely had time to surface.

’I have to get the heroes quickly’ Due to my limitations and not knowing how to use teleportation perfectly, I’ll have to get close to each group to teleport them.

I fly up to get off the ground and have a broader view of the area, I see that thing coming from far behind me, its huge body is visible from here and its speed is absurd for a being of that size.

I quickly fly to the person I believe to be most relevant to help me, and immediately teleport to them.

”K-Kyaaa? P-Pandora please don’t do that again” Celeste lets out a frightened scream as her whole group looks at me.

”Celeste, no time, listen carefully, an S-class boss is furious and running through this dungeon, we must remove all the students from the dungeon as soon as possible.”

”W-What P-Pandora, this is no joke” I grab her and fly high, as I teleported, the snake is still considerably far away.

”See? That thing is going to kill everyone, we need to get out of the dungeon now, I’m going to teleport everyone to the exit, I want you to stay at the dungeon exit and guide the students out urgently, can you do that?”

”Y-Yes” I quickly descend to the ground and teleport her and the group to the exit, leaving me here alone.

”S-Shit, it’s close to a group” I quickly fly to the necessary distance and teleport, arriving at the group, without even explaining anything, I quickly teleport them.

I cross my arms in an X shape to block the snake’s charge that arrived absurdly fast, I am thrown against the trees, knocking down all in the way.

I quickly take flight to get off the ground, I look at the snake and see it rising, its colossal size allowing it to chase me even in the sky.

”!!!” I see several magic circles being formed, it starts firing fireballs at an alarming rate, and it’s as if the whole scene below turns into a blazing inferno.

I quickly teleport to another group and do the same process, I continue in this game of cat and mouse while it passes through, destroying the entire area.

The trail it leaves behind is only devastation, by this point, almost all the groups I teleport to are frightened by the sounds of explosions and something destroying everything in its path.

”Pandora, you won’t hold out at this pace” Violet says, seeing my bleeding eyes. I’m using so much mana to strengthen my body to avoid dying that my body can’t handle the power surge.

My eyes are the ones suffering the most, as they have to keep up with the absurd speed of the snake, if it weren’t for Violet’s mana, I would have already exhausted 100% of mine and died.

This snake seems to have noticed that I don’t have the egg, so it started spamming magic nonstop, the worst are earth magic, every time I touch the ground, giant thorns are generated even though it’s far away.

It’s really determined to kill me, I wonder how it found out I don’t have the egg.

”Don’t worry, Violet, I’m almost done, and I don’t doubt the principal will arrive soon, and even if she doesn’t, if I see I can’t continue, I’ll run away.”

Although letting the heroes die is bad, because it would make the future heroes stronger, my life is more important, after all, I need to be alive to have a chance to kill them.

My vision slowly becomes redder and a little uncomfortable, but it’s what I can do, my back also hurts from the speed at which the wings are beating.

”PANDORA, WATCH OUT!” Violet yells as I dodge a tail strike the snake made, the snake’s body seems to have completely emerged from the ground, I can see its body extending in several places.

It was an absurd chase, soon it reaches me, we’re very close to the last group, but I’m tired, if I teleport now I’ll be vulnerable, I need to get it away from here.

I start flying in the opposite direction of the last group while its head chases me, I start flying low but above its body, so it can’t use earth magic.

Its body undulates as if trying to push me away, but I take advantage of that, I pass under its body as it chases me making the same movement, I start flying, trying to make it wrap itself in its own body.

It’s very difficult to keep the pace, my body seems like it’s going to fall apart, my mana is depleted and now all that keeps me going is Violet’s mana, I’m very tired.

I’m showing clear symptoms of mana depletion, while my body is exceeding its limit due to the amount of mana used to constantly reinforce it.

I manage to make the snake tie itself in several knots, I doubt it can be stopped for long, but these various knots in its body will at least slow it down.

Soon it starts to slow down as its body shakes and sways in the wrong way due to the knots in several places.

I teleport to the last group and take them to the exit with me, as soon as I arrive I fall to the ground, I can barely move while I breathe with difficulty.

It seems I Overestimated myself a bit, I clearly wasn’t ready for something as crazy as this.

Celeste comes running to me while shouting to the group I brought to run to the exit, which is a large black door.

Celeste holds me and runs with me in a princess-style embrace.

”Pandora, are you okay? And what are those wings? And what is that thing?” She runs through the portal and soon we’re in that same initial room, I see several teachers calming the students while I see some trying to communicate with the principal through artifacts.

The Saint is also here, she soon comes running when she sees my condition, it seems I’ve drawn attention as several students and teachers look at me.

I guess my condition isn’t the best, my eyes are red from so much bleeding, while blood drips from my face, some black spots are also visible in areas with muscles.

Showing severe damage and internal bleeding, the Saint soon starts healing me, ironically her healing magic is also healing my wings, even though they’re not part of my body.

However, I wouldn’t die just from this amount of damage, my regeneration would handle it without problems while my passives and race would keep me alive.

The only problem is, sooner or later that snake will notice I’m not in the dungeon, so it will come out.

Strangely, what I feel in this situation is hunger, the urge to attack those around me to eat, probably because it would help me recover faster, but I restrain myself.

It would be a problem to do that. After a few minutes, the Saint has healed me completely, although I’m still tired and without mana, the principal has just arrived.

She talks to the teachers, seeming anxious and irritated, probably she didn’t expect such a strong monster in an area like this, which shows that the place review was poorly done since they didn’t find the snake.

She soon enters the portal and goes to the dungeon, when this happens, a smile appears for a second on my face, absolute success.

”Here, drink this” The Saint says, handing me a potion, I drink it and soon feel my mana return.

I see several students murmuring things, some, mainly the nobles of this world, start talking about my wings.

Soon I remember that there is a rumor that I am a hybrid of dragon and human, and now I have draconic wings, which will further feed this rumor, my wings were made using the dragon’s wings as a mold in that fight in the castle.

Which will give even more strength to this rumor.

I’m lying on the ground resting while the teacher from my class comes to me, he bows, surprising all the students.

”I apologize for my mistake, due to my carelessness, I put many lives in danger, I thank you for saving the students even at the risk of your life.”

”...” I don’t respond, I don’t care much about it, I just want to rest.

Celeste comes to me with shining eyes of excitement.

”That was amazing, Pandora, you managed to save everyone even against an S-class enemy, as expected of my Rival.”

”And you’re really a dragon, that’s incredible, I’ve never seen a hybrid before.”

”...” It’s a bit funny to see her excitement, since it was my fault the monster got so furious, and I’m not even a hybrid.

”Can I touch your wings?” She asks shamelessly.

”Go ahead” My wings have a realistic texture, so it’s the same as touching a real dragon’s wing.

”Wow, it’s very different from what I imagined, and a little soft in some places, but hard in others, do you also have a tail?”

”...Maybe, who knows?”

Soon the princess joins Celeste, she makes a slight bow and speaks.

”In the name of the kingdom, I thank you not as a student to a student, but as a princess to the Grand Duchess of this kingdom, your efforts to save everyone are commendable and an important contribution to the kingdom.”

It’s easy to know why, the kingdom could have lost all the heroes at once, which would be bad for them, but it would also be bad for me because the new heroes would be much stronger.

”...I...”
