The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 65: Knowledge about dungeons

It’s already morning and the effect of the drug that bastard gave me has worn off after a few hours, but this won’t end like this, even though the night was great, he will still pay dearly for making me lose control.

’I have to go to class’

”Shogo can come in” At some point Shogo came back, but he didn’t come into the room and waited outside.

Soon Shogo enters and looks at Amiya sleeping naked on my bed.

”Don’t touch her Shogo, she’s not your food, just clean the room, tidy up the mess, and wash my things. I’ll get ready to go to class...just let Amiya sleep.”

I start my routine by going to take a shower, unfortunately the dorm doesn’t have a private bathroom so I had to go take a shower in the big women’s bathroom, which normally wouldn’t be a problem.

However, this time it was a problem because of my smell, I’m scented with Amiya’s smell and the smell of sex, which got me some suspicious looks during the shower.

After the shower, I got dressed and went to the cafeteria to have breakfast, I noticed that Amiya seemed to have gotten strangely stronger during the night, not too much but a still notable change.

’She’s still sleeping, she’ll be late for the dungeon class’ Today we’re going to learn about dungeons and tomorrow we’ll go to one.

After a meal that’s not really to my liking, I go to the classroom, with perfect timing.

After a moment, the professor arrives and arranges his materials, the professor starts writing some things on the board while drawing diagrams of 3 dungeons.

”Students, today we will talk about the standard types of dungeons, there are 3 types: defensive dungeons, offensive dungeons, and effect dungeons.”

”Let’s start with the defensive ones, the defensive dungeons work in a unique way, their purpose is for you to defend the floor.”

”When you reach a floor of a defensive dungeon, you must look for the center of the floor, and in the center there will be something you must protect, as soon as you reach the center, monsters will start to appear.”

”And the entrance to the next floor will only appear if you manage to eliminate 100% of the monsters while still protecting what is in the center.”

”The deeper you go, the stronger the hordes of monsters get, and if what you need to protect is destroyed, you have to start over from the beginning, and the worst part is that in defensive dungeons, the only reward is found on the last floor.”

”So the cost to defeat these dungeons is high and the difficulty to reach the last floor is hard, although a good reward is 100% guaranteed.”

It sounds interesting, I wonder how this dungeon works in practice, Amiya still hasn’t shown up, she’ll probably get a scolding.

”Now the offensive dungeons are much simpler, in them all you need to do is keep going down while killing monsters, sometimes you can find treasure anywhere, and the rewards get better as you go down.”

”There is a boss every 10 floors, and after defeating the boss, there will be a resting room where no monsters appear, the monsters on each floor reappear every time the room is left empty.”

”The difficulty naturally increases the deeper you go, and this type of dungeon usually exceeds 80 floors.”

”Then we come to the effect dungeons, these are the worst and most difficult to face usually, as the name implies, an effect is applied to everyone who enters the dungeon.”

”This type of dungeon is similar to the offensive dungeons, but usually has a boss every 5 floors.”

”What makes it difficult is that this effect usually puts you at a great disadvantage to even explore the dungeon, for example, a well-known dungeon has the effect of nullifying all magic of those who enter, making it a dungeon that only fighters who don’t depend on magic can enter.”

”So in addition to having floor counts that usually exceed 200, the effect makes it difficult to even reach a low floor, many of these special dungeons sometimes don’t have very strong monsters, but because of the disadvantage, you can easily die to weak opponents.”

”And that’s why even if the dungeon is S-class, B-class or A-class monsters are the bosses, in addition to being usually weaker than their real classification.”

’So that dungeon I went to was an effect one’ In the dungeon I went to train, my mana didn’t regenerate, so even though the monsters weren’t absurd, I still had a great disadvantage because I had to limit myself.

”And finally, we have the special dungeons, these usually disappear when they are defeated, they are complicated to explain, they are like a mixture of the 3 normal dungeon categories.”

”Normally the dungeon itself has a confusing appearance and is difficult to navigate, and even if you defeat the last floor, nothing guarantees you’ll get something good, basically they are complicated dungeons that may or may not have something good.”

”Within it, you may need to defend the floor, advance, or just stand still without doing anything to go to another floor that may or may not be the same, changing on each floor.”

”Their difficulties also vary a lot, an example was one that appeared in this kingdom, it had a slime as the boss, the dungeon disappeared after the boss’s defeat, expelling everyone inside and giving us a gold chest as a reward.”

”In the dragon tribe, one appeared with S-class monsters, and in the end, after being defeated, all they got was a simple wooden sword.”

”Normally these dungeons are ignored because they disappear after a while, so they are only used by people who want to test their luck.”

It sounds interesting, but it doesn’t have much value, it’s just a way to test yourself with the slim chance of getting something good.

Soon the professor pauses his explanation, he rolls the chalk between his fingers and throws it with just his fingers, the chalk flies at high speed, buzzing and coming here to the back and getting stuck in the wall.

”You’re late Riko Mitsuki” I see Riko frozen in place, the chalk passed very close to him, if it had hit Riko, he would have a hole in his head now, it looks like he tried to sneak in.

”S-Sorry p-professor” He says frightened.

”Sit down, and don’t let it happen again” Riko quickly goes to the chair next to mine as the professor resumes the class.

I look at Riko and see him looking at me strangely, a mixture of fear and excitement, he’s blushing and seems not to know how to react to me.

”P-Please d-don’t look at me l-like that” He speaks as he sees me looking at him with disdain.

They’re quite different, and that defines well what I feel, I don’t like Riko, I think he’s disgusting for looking at me that way, but I like Amiya, she has an appearance like a doll that I can mold.

Yes, I prefer Amiya, who acts in a tsundere way while moaning and crying with pleasure in my hands, it’s kind of funny to see her tsundere act when I can see the colors of her emotion and know that she’s enjoying it.

”Riko, pay attention in class and don’t even think about telling anyone about yesterday, you hear?” Now it no longer makes sense to call Riko ”magical girl” as a joke, that’s lost its charm because it reminds me of Amiya, even though Riko is Amiya, they’re still different.

So I prefer Amiya to this cowardly Riko.

I turn my attention back to the class, leaving Riko to talk to himself.

”So students, about the emergence of dungeons, this is something that no one knows, dungeons are what can be called a natural phenomenon, the monsters inside them always come back to life.”

”While their treasures also always return after some time, this makes them a valuable source of resources for any kingdom.”

”There are many speculations and theories about why they appeared, but there is no confirmation or solid basis, after all, it has been proven that none of the goddesses created the dungeons.”

”Some said it was the Abyss Goddess because the monsters are common in the dungeons, but it has been proven that it cannot be her, precisely because the dungeon areas are strangely affected when goddesses get close.”

”The same applies to the Abyss Goddess, if it had been her who made them, the demons could use the dungeons at will, but they cannot and are subject to the same limitations as us.”

”The effects that occur when a goddess approaches a dungeon are usually a general strengthening of everything in the dungeon, whether the walls and floor, and even the monsters inside, everything gets stronger.”

”The current theories that are most accepted are that the dungeons are living beings, this theory arose because the mana and magic in a dungeon is always of the same type with the same magical length, while the monsters inside also have the same type and magical length.”

”Which should be impossible, because as you already know, the mana length of each person is unique.”

”So this means that the monsters are the dungeon itself, they are actually a single being.”

”What makes this theory even more plausible is the dungeon’s ability to ’Feed’ on everything that enters, basically the dungeons are like traps, to attract living beings, everything that comes from outside and dies inside a dungeon only serves as food to make the dungeon more powerful.”

”It works similar to a carnivorous plant, which has something that attracts its prey to its mouth and then devours it.”

”The dungeons attract us with rewards, and the weak who die in the dungeons only make them stronger, that’s why the kingdom keeps the entry to most dungeons restricted, where you can only enter with a silver-level adventurer’s license.”

”Or having special permission, which is our case, tomorrow we will go to a dungeon, this dungeon will not be very difficult and will be of the attack type with a labyrinth-like environment.”

”So I hope everyone prepares well, the school will provide all possible support, but accidents can happen, so caution is essential.”

The professor continues the class as I decide to think about tomorrow, I wonder how this dungeon will be.
