The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 15: Beginning of the Obsession

Six humanoid figures arrive flying in the sky.

ʼIs that it?...ʼ Iʼm slightly disappointed, I imagined they would be real dragons, like those giant reptiles with huge wings, not 6 people with small wings and scales in some parts of their bodies.

They fly in the sky while looking around.

”Iʼll start since they donʼt come” Thalor says as he flies faster than I can keep up with, he grabs one of the humanoids and takes it away.

Soon, all except Elena do something similar, taking 1 of them with them, so there are only 2 left, who were surprised that their companions had been so easily taken away.

”Iʼll take the one on the right, your majesty” Elena says as she uses some magic to fly and goes to fight, now thereʼs only 1 of them left.

”...I canʼt fly...” I realize now that I donʼt know magic to fly.

That dragon keeps hovering as if analyzing me, then lowers the altitude and speaks.

”Well, well, it seems the new demon king doesnʼt even know how to fly” He says in a mocking tone.

”...” Iʼm not stupid enough to lose my cool to such an obvious provocation.

ʼIʼll remember thatʼ

”Youʼre right...it seems I still donʼt know how to fly...you have beautiful wings...” I say as I observe his wings and the shadows they cast on the ground. The guy is left without understanding what I meant and takes a slight distance.

ʼI hope this can sustain meʼ

[Shadow Sculpting] [Texture Transition]

I make my mana material and create a mold using Shadow Sculpting based on that guyʼs wings, then reinforce it with Texture Alteration to create wings.

Now I have a pair of black wings, they have a texture as if they were real flesh. However, they are not actually attached to my body, they just appear to be real.

It is maintained by continuous magic generation, now I just need to learn how to fly with them.

I start flapping them in a similar way to that guy and manage to rise off the ground, itʼs not that difficult, I love how my passives help me learn ridiculously fast.

Now Iʼm flying at the same height as him.

”It seems I know how to fly” I say with a mocking smile, he realized that my wings are formed by magic.

”Truly an aberration, [Water Vortex]” He uses a magic that creates a straight-line attack made of water, the center of the attack spinning to form a vortex that grinds what enters.

I advance in a straight line, entering the attack head-on, the dragon is surprised by this attack, while I land a punch on his stomach. The sound is like metal hitting metal.

ʼH-Hardʼ My fingers broke, he protected himself with magic, it seems like a shield.

I start a sequence of punches while he defends, my regeneration is faster than the damage to my fingers. His shield slowly begins to gain several cracks.

”Y-You, [Fire Explosion]” A fire aura covers him, soon it begins to expand as if it were about to explode.

”!!![Dark Lance]” I use the magic I learned from Kaelith while materializing mana to form a barrier, the mana cost is high to make fully mana barriers.

ʼI need to learn barrier magic later...ʼ he dodged the lance and I protected myself from the explosion.

ʼI need to take this fight to the groundʼ in the sky there are almost no shadows for me to use. I advance in a forward thrust and strike with both hands down using all my strength.

He protected himself with a shield and was pushed about 7 meters down.

”[Dark Lance]” I start firing many lances one after the other, forcing his shield to be pushed down, he dispels the barrier and descends to the ground dodging the attacks.

As soon as he touches the ground.

[Shadow Dance] [Path of Time]

I come out of his shadow and slow down the time around him, I start hitting him, he still moves but is much slower than before. I fill his face with punches.

”You didnʼt say I couldnʼt even fly, now youʼre here getting beaten” I didnʼt forget the provocation, I may not have responded at the time, but Iʼm responding now.

Blood starts to drip from his face.

”Urk...” I step back hastily, a spear pierced my abdomen, I feel some of my organs being liquefied as the spear rotates inside my body before coming out.

”Truly an aberration as the boss said, something like you shouldnʼt exist Demon King” He now holds a Spear that seems to be made of bones, my blood drips from the spear.

ʼWhere did he pull this spear from?ʼ he was unarmed but now he has a weapon.

He advances while making multiple thrusts, I barely dodge each blow, they are quite fast and continuous. I hold the spear with my tail and use magic.

”[Shadowed Cutting Blade]” The darkness blade passes cutting the things in front, but the dragon dodged without much trouble.

”[Sky Fall]”

”AAARGGG” I am hit by a lightning bolt that falls from the sky, my whole body is fried, I feel as my skin burns all at once, not enough to kill me or seriously injure me, but very painful.

”[Black Sphere]” I use this ability to have a slight protection, then I jump back, distancing myself from the lightningʼs area of effect.

”You wonʼt escape [Wind Cutter]” A wind blade comes my way.

”!!!”

[Shadow Dance]

I enter the shadows and dodge just barely, then come out of the shadow again.

[Shadow Sculpting] I start making various wolves and sharks, I noticed that different shadows have different properties, the shark as soon as it was invoked entered the ground, something the wolf couldnʼt do.

ʼCould it be that each shadow has its own peculiarity?ʼ I also noticed that the shadows are actually living beings, I felt that when Kaelith killed them, I felt life being cut at that moment.

The wolves advance to attack the dragon, but the sharks are hidden in the ground. I advance along with the wolves.

”[Water Vortex]” He uses the water vortex to eliminate many wolves, then he jumps back to dodge me.

As soon as he makes this move, a smile appears on my face.

”AAAHHRRGG” He lets out a scream of pain as a shark rips off his right leg and brings it to me.

Unlike the wolves hidden in shadows that need to come out to attack, the hidden shark can attack instantly.

ʼSharks in the ground, it even looks like a horror movieʼ truly problematic predators for my enemies.

The dragon flies to get out of the ground, which even without him realizing it is infested with hidden sharks.

”It seems someone lost their leg to such a simple trick” I say mocking him, then I bite the leg and start chewing, a sound of grinding is heard, as the bones are completely broken.

I hold the leg in front of him to see his reaction.

”YOU FUCKING BITCH [Acid Rain]” He uses a magic that forms a large cloud in the arena, then greenish drops begin to fall.

”Now you die, you monster” He says with a presumptuous smile.

The drops that touch my body start to melt it, it hurts but I hold firm, he just watches after a few seconds the damage begins to be increasingly reduced and in 1 minute I no longer receive any damage, although now Iʼm naked because my clothes melted.

”H-How...Damn aberration” he insults me as he realizes that his attack was useless.

”I knew, this magic of yours ”created” an environment” My passive [Elemental Resistance] acted, making me able to survive, this passive basically ensures that I can survive regardless of how inhospitable an ”Environment” can be, that is, a place with acid rain is still a place.

Now this little acid rain is of no use whatsoever, he just spent mana, and I noticed he spent a lot of mana, since itʼs a magic that changes the environment.

”Is that all, I expected more, hahaha, but I guess thatʼs the most I should expect from fifth-rate garbage like you” my body can be called a perfect killing machine, regardless of the environment or conditions, Iʼm fit to be the most powerful predator.

A body that can be said to border on perfection, extremely difficult to kill, can survive extreme conditions, has extremely high general capabilities, and an insane ability to adapt and evolve. And thatʼs just what I know about my body.

[Shadow Sculpting]

I start creating various shadow insects, if sharks can hide in the ground, what can flying insects do?

”Donʼt underestimate me, child, you may be powerful, but youʼre still immature [Storm Aura]” a wind aura swirls around him, my approaching insects died instantly.

The Dragon soon advances towards me, starting a hand-to-hand combat, but my body starts to receive several small cuts made by his aura.

However, him coming down to the ground is illogical, he underestimated the resistance of my shadows, I make several sharks come out of the ground to attack him, although some die, others bit him and left several wounds.

ʼHe canʼt regenerate...he also doesnʼt have healing magicʼ Iʼm unlikely to lose, he wonʼt win in an endurance battle.

Another thing I noticed is the mana recovery rate, I recover mana at a tremendous pace, even though I spend, I canʼt get low on it because my mana restoration is greater than the spending.

He, on the other hand, is slowly running out of mana to use magic.

Now we both hold each otherʼs hands and compete in strength, he ignored the fact that he is full of wounds and still competes with me.

ʼStrange...why doesnʼt he flee? If heʼs going to die, why doesnʼt he give up? Do they want something else?ʼ I remember Thalorʼs words.

ʼDo they want me to lose control? But how would they do that?ʼ I canʼt understand what they want with this, do they think Iʼll lose control so easily? Theyʼre too stupid, Iʼve always had great self-control.

I use my tail to cut off his hand, now the balance of strength has changed, he lets go of my hand and flies back, barely dodging a shark in the ground.

I pick up his hand and eat in front of him, the taste isnʼt bad, but it seems a bit... cheap? Probably the meat that the maids make for me is specially selected, which means that...

”Youʼre just cheap food that can be found on any corner...” Veins appear on the dragonʼs forehead, being compared to cheap food irritated him.

”YOU PLAGUE IʼLL KILL YOU [Gravitational Disturbance]” I start to be crushed by gravity, the weight is very heavy, but nothing that stops me.

”Is that all? [Shadowed Cutting Blade]” I use this attack, cutting his body in two from top to bottom. He who had to maintain the gravity could not dodge, I see as his organs fall from his split body, staining the ground with blood and organs.

”At least it looks nice like that” a good sight, if he had been tasty it would have been even better, too bad the meat quality was bad. I have the sharks devour the corpse, as Kaelith said, I have to make sure heʼs dead, I wonʼt fall for the undead thing after Kaelith tricked me.

I see that Elena is also finishing her fight, these guys are kind of weak, or maybe Iʼm just too strong, but I know that if I faced the 6 of them I donʼt know if I would win, but what I faced I didnʼt even go all out.

If the other 5 have the same strength, then defeating the 6 of them together would be a piece of cake using all my power.

Elena lands a final blow and tears off the guyʼs head, then flies over to me.

”I see youʼve finished, your majesty” She says with a smile.

”Yes...where are the others, why the delay?”

”Theyʼre playing with their opponents, thatʼs why theyʼll still take a while” Elena says exasperatedly.

”Well, let them be hahaha, these weaklings are only good for that anyway, now letʼs take a bath? I need a bath and new clothes since mine melted completely” I say as I start walking.

Soon a warm liquid sprays on me, I look back and what I see leaves me in shock.

”E-Elena...” Elena had her head blown off by an attack from the headless dragonʼs body.

As a reflex of my anger, the sharks begin to grind the dragonʼs body, making an unrecognizable shapeless mass of blood and flesh on the ground.

I kneel on the ground looking at Elenaʼs lifeless body.

”N-No, no, no, NO, NO, NO, YOU CANʼT ABANDON ME I DIDNʼT GIVE YOU PERMISSION” My mind doesnʼt accept this.

ʼWhy, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Why, Whyʼ

”Because youʼre trying to abandon me, Elena, y-you canʼt, you donʼt have permission to abandon me” A spiral of possessiveness spins in my head, itʼs unacceptable for Elena to try to abandon me, she is mine.

”You are MINE, YOU DONʼT HAVE THE OPTION TO ABANDON ME” I say shaking her body.

”Youʼre mine, Elena, your body, your mind, your soul, and everything else you have belongs only to me, you canʼt abandon me...”

ʼYou canʼt abandon me, you canʼt abandon me, you canʼt abandon me, you canʼt abandon me, you canʼt abandon me, you canʼt abandon meʼ this phrase repeats in my mind, like a mantra.

ʼI have to punish her...I need to punish her for trying to abandon meʼ My mind doesnʼt even think correctly anymore, how would I punish a dead person?

”Mine, mine, mine, you are mine, Iʼll never let this go unpunished, did you hear ELENA, ANSWER DAMMIT, ANSWER, ANSWER, ANSWER”

My head only reaches a single hypothesis, even though it is completely illogical and irrational.

ʼYou did this on purpose, you donʼt want to stay with me, so you want to do everything to abandon meʼ

ʼIt can only be that...how didnʼt I think of something so obvious...youʼre strong, I could barely hit you...how would you be hit by that?...itʼs clear that it was on purpose just to be able to abandon meʼ

ʼI need to teach you who you belong to so that you never even think about the idea of abandoning me againʼ

ʼNo matter what I do, Iʼll never let you abandon me, if the problem is that you want to explore the world, Iʼll cut off your legs and lock you in this castle, if the problem is me, Iʼll make you never have anything else on your mind but me, if the problem is the servants, Iʼll kill all those who are not necessary...but first I must punish you for trying to abandon me...ʼ

Soon I notice Elenaʼs corpse turning to ashes and then restoring itself, Elena looks at me as she speaks.

”Forgive me, your majesty, it seems I underestimated my opponent a bit” Elena bows and apologizes, as if nothing had happened, as if she hadnʼt just tried to abandon me.

ʼNow sheʼs just pretending...but pretending wonʼt work, Elena...Iʼll punish you, you deserve a punishment for thisʼ

Soon the others arrive and Thalor is the first to speak to me while Calypso and Freya seem nervous about something.

”Y-Your majesty, control yourself” He kneels in front of me and speaks to me.

”Iʼm calm, Thalor...yes, Iʼm perfectly calm...just thinking a little” Thalor soon uses some magic, and the others get agitated, he probably sent a telepathic message, but I donʼt care.

ʼIʼll punish Elena...yes, Iʼll make her see who her owner is, no matter what they say, she must be punished and Iʼll kill anyone who tries to stop meʼ

My calm is deep, I think Iʼve never been so calm in my whole life, all I need to do is let my instincts guide me, theyʼve always been right, so Iʼll let them decide how to punish this traitor who thinks she can abandon me.

”THALOR, KNOCK OUT ELENA NOW”

...

...

...

I just Reincarnated thanks to my Phoenix Blessing, I made a mistake, I got so excited with the first fight against someone strong from your majesty that I forgot about my own.

I ended up being hit since my opponentʼs attack was faster than my prediction.

”Forgive me, your majesty, it seems I underestimated my opponent a bit” I apologize to her while bowing.

However, your majesty is strange, she has a... frightening look, this is the first time Iʼve seen this kind of look in her, and itʼs directed at me. Itʼs not murderous intent, but it still has a heavy and dense aura, as if it were dangerous.

This look gives me a sticky feeling, like a swamp that sinks everything that enters, combined with your majestyʼs spiral eyes, I feel as if this look would drag me down.

Her silence also doesnʼt help to understand.

ʼDid I do something that bothered her?ʼ Soon the others arrive and I receive the worst news I could receive at the moment.

[Elena, what did you do...damn it, your majesty lost control!!!] Thalor sends me this message.

ʼYour majesty...LOST CONTROL?ʼ thatʼs simply terrible.

I look at your majesty and now I understand the silence, she is ”Calm” but this calm is too calm, itʼs impossible to know whatʼs going through her mind, but itʼs clearly dangerous, soon she opens her mouth to speak.

”THALOR, KNOCK OUT ELENA NOW”

ʼHuh? What is she...ʼ I receive a strong blow that exceeds my prediction, this is the second attack today that goes beyond my prediction.

”Iʼm sorry, Elena, orders from your majesty” Thalor apologizes as I slowly lose consciousness.
