The Villian Who Broke The Story

After spending the night together, Kael and Lilith finally had the opportunity to talk openly after weeks of avoiding one another. While Lilith’s jealousy regarding Charlotte led to a heated confrontation, the misunderstanding was eventually resolved. For the first time since returning from Velcrest City, the two were able to spend time together without missions, spies, or academy politics getting in the way.

Unfortunately for Kael, peace never lasted long.

Kael slowly opened his eyes.

For a brief moment, he simply stared at the ceiling.

The events of the previous night resurfaced one after another, causing him to let out a small sigh.

His gaze drifted toward the bed.

Lilith was still sleeping peacefully.

Unlike her usual alert self, she looked completely relaxed.

Kael quietly got up before she could wake.

It was currently the weekend, and the academy was on a short break following the completion of the class assignments and the distribution of student badges.

Although the official rankings would only change after the upcoming academy tournament, Kael had no intention of wasting his time.

Too many things needed to be done.

Too many powerful enemies existed in this world.

And despite all the progress he had made, he was still far too weak.

”I really need to learn how to control my demonic mana without alerting the academy,” Kael muttered while preparing breakfast.

His situation was becoming increasingly dangerous.

The ring left behind by Tsukiyomi was suppressing most of the demonic energy within his body, but it wasn’t a permanent solution.

Eventually, he would need to master it himself.

Otherwise, someone would notice.

And if the wrong person discovered his secret, things could become troublesome very quickly.

After finishing breakfast, Kael placed a portion beside Lilith’s bed.

She remained asleep.

Seeing the exhausted look on her face, Kael decided against waking her.

Instead, he quietly left the room.

A few minutes later, Kael entered one of the academy’s training facilities.

The gravity chamber.

Without hesitation, he adjusted the setting.

3x Gravity.

The pressure immediately descended upon his body.

His muscles tightened.

His bones groaned.

Yet Kael remained standing.

At this point, he was already accustomed to the strain.

The weeks of training, dungeon raids, and constant life-or-death battles had pushed his physical abilities far beyond those of an ordinary first-year student.

A familiar screen appeared before him.

Name: Kael Draven

Race: Human [???]

Class: None

Rank: C

Potential: ???

Strength: C-

Agility: C

Stamina: C

Mana: D+

Kael stared at the status screen.

”Hmm.”

The growth wasn’t bad.

But it wasn’t enough.

Not even close.

The upcoming tournament would gather the strongest students in the academy.

Many of them possessed noble bloodlines, powerful classes, and years of combat training.

Kael couldn’t afford to remain stagnant.

”I wonder when I’ll awaken a class.”

Most students awakened theirs long before reaching his current level.

Yet his remained blank.

Perhaps it had something to do with the mysterious powers he received when entering this world.

Or perhaps something else was interfering.

”I also forgot to ask Charlotte what class she awakened.”

He shook his head.

That could wait.

For now, he had something far more important to focus on.

The Celestial Moon Blade Style.

The legendary sword art created by Tsukiyomi.

A technique designed to challenge beings far beyond ordinary mortals.

Kael slowly drew his sword.

The moment the blade left its sheath, the atmosphere around him changed.

His expression became serious.

Closing his eyes, he recalled the memory perfectly.

The stance.

The breathing.

The flow of mana.

Every movement Tsukiyomi performed had been engraved into his mind through Perfect Copy.

Kael adjusted his footing.

Then inhaled deeply.

”First Form...”

His grip tightened.

”Celestial Moon Blade Style.”

The gravity chamber seemed to grow silent.

”Crescent Moon Slash.”

Kael stepped forward.

His blade descended.

For a split second, everything felt correct.

Then his body rebelled.

Pain exploded throughout every muscle.

His heartbeat became erratic.

The mana within him surged out of control.

His vision blurred.

The sword slipped from his fingers.

A familiar voice echoed inside his mind.

”Your body is not strong enough to use this technique.”

Tsukiyomi.

Kael’s knees hit the floor.

The pressure continued building.

His muscles felt as though they were being torn apart from within.

The difference between copying a technique and actually wielding it was enormous.

Especially when that technique belonged to someone capable of fighting gods.

”So that’s what you meant...”

Kael muttered weakly.

The Celestial Star Blade Style had already pushed his body to its limits.

The Moon Blade Style was on an entirely different level.

Before he could gather another thought, darkness swallowed his vision.

And Kael collapsed.

Meanwhile...

Lilith slowly opened her eyes.

The room was quiet.

For a brief moment, she simply stared at the empty space beside her.

Then a smile appeared on her face.

A surprisingly gentle one.

Her crimson eyes softened.

She looked around before spotting the breakfast Kael had left behind.

The smile widened.

”He actually made breakfast.”

For some reason, that small gesture pleased her more than it probably should have.

After eating, Lilith washed up and changed clothes.

Instead of her usual outfit, she casually borrowed one of Kael’s oversized shirts and a pair of sweatpants.

The clothes were far too large for her.

But that only made her happier.

A few minutes later, she stepped into the elevator.

The doors began to close.

Then stopped.

Someone entered.

Lilith’s expression instantly darkened.

Her crimson eyes narrowed.

”Sean.”

The temperature around her seemed to drop.

”What are you doing here?”

The venom in her voice was impossible to miss.

After collapsing while attempting to use the first form of the Celestial Moon Blade Style, Kael finally understood the gap between himself and Tsukiyomi, the creator of the technique. The sword art wasn’t simply powerful—it was designed to oppose divinity itself. While Kael struggled to comprehend the mysterious energy flowing through his body, Lilith found herself dealing with a different problem altogether.

Sean stared at Lilith with an annoyed expression as the elevator descended.

”You’re breaking protocol.”

Lilith didn’t even bother looking at him.

”What protocol?”

Sean’s eye twitched.

”You’re coming out of his room.”

Only then did Lilith glance at him.

”So?”

Sean clenched his teeth.

”What do you mean ’so’? You’re supposed to be monitoring him, not spending the night with him.”

Lilith frowned.

”I’m completing my mission.”

Sean looked at her as though she had lost her mind.

”I don’t remember any mission that involved sleeping with the target.”

The atmosphere immediately grew colder.

Lilith’s crimson eyes narrowed.

”He’s not a target.”

Sean froze for a moment before sighing.

”Maybe not to you.”

He folded his arms.

”But Kael Draven is a Demon King Candidate.”

Lilith remained silent.

”He’s not from any of the Seven Thrones,” Sean continued. ”His bloodline traces back to the Royal Family itself. We still don’t know how that’s possible.”

His expression grew serious.

”According to Velvet Gang regulations, that makes him a person of interest.”

The temperature around Lilith dropped further.

”Does Madam Draven know you’re saying this?”

Sean’s face immediately paled.

Lilith smiled sweetly.

The kind of smile that made people fear for their lives.

”Stay away from Kael.”

Her voice was calm.

Too calm.

”Or I’ll kill you myself.”

Sean unconsciously took a step back.

Lilith continued.

”You’re a second-year student. Focus on your own problems.”

The elevator doors opened.

Lilith stepped out.

Then paused.

Without turning around, she spoke one final time.

”And the next time I see you near the first-year dormitories...”

A sinister aura leaked from her body.

”I’m killing you.”

Sean swallowed nervously.

Lilith finally turned her head slightly.

Her crimson eyes glowed.

”Kael is mine.”

Then she walked away as though nothing had happened.

Leaving Sean standing there.

Terrified.

And furious.

One day...

One day things would be different.

At least, that’s what he told himself.

Meanwhile...

Kael suddenly opened his eyes.

The gravity chamber ceiling came into view.

He had blacked out again.

Slowly pushing himself off the floor, he examined his body.

The internal injuries caused by the Celestial Moon Blade Style had already begun healing.

Infinite Adaptation was working overtime.

If not for the skill, he was fairly certain he would have died trying to force that technique.

Kael picked up his sword.

Then recalled the sensation from earlier.

The stance.

The mana flow.

The strange energy.

Everything about the technique felt unnatural.

No.

It felt impossible.

”A technique created to oppose divinity...”

Kael muttered.

The more he thought about it, the more absurd it became.

Humans weren’t supposed to use techniques like that.

Even Tsukiyomi had warned him.

Your human body cannot perform it.

At the time, Kael assumed it was an exaggeration.

Now he understood.

The technique wasn’t simply demanding.

It required a body capable of handling divine-level energy.

The only races naturally capable of opposing divine beings were angels and demons.

Humans lacked the necessary foundation.

”No wonder.”

Kael stared at his trembling hand.

”I need a complete demonic transformation before I can fully utilize it.”

At his current level, even attempting the first form was suicidal.

He would need to become stronger first.

Much stronger.

After leaving the gravity chamber, Kael walked through the academy grounds.

Small traces of dried blood stained his training clothes.

Most students quickly moved out of his way.

They could sense he was in a terrible mood.

Before long, he arrived at the academy store.

After spending a few merit points, he purchased several weighted bands.

Two for the wrists.

Two for the ankles.

Then he headed toward the medical wing.

Charlotte was currently sitting on her bed reading through academy materials when the door opened.

She looked up.

Only to see Kael walking inside.

”What are you doing here?”

Charlotte frowned.

”Shouldn’t you still be recovering?”

Kael ignored the question.

Instead, he tossed several weights onto her bed.

The metallic objects landed with a loud clang.

Charlotte blinked.

Then looked at him.

Then at the weights.

Then back at him.

”What is this?”

Kael pulled up a chair.

”Your next training program.”

Charlotte’s face immediately darkened.

”I just got stabbed yesterday.”

”You’re alive.”

”That’s not the point!”

Kael nodded thoughtfully.

”Good. That means you’re healthy enough to train.”

Charlotte stared at him in disbelief.

This man was insane.

Absolutely insane.

Kael ignored her expression.

”You absorbed the Dungeon Boss Core.”

Charlotte nodded.

”Your body should still be processing the energy.”

He pointed toward the weights.

”Some of your stats are probably approaching D-Rank already.”

Charlotte’s eyes widened.

”Really?”

Kael nodded.

”But that’s not enough.”

His expression became serious.

”The academy tournament is approaching.”

Charlotte immediately understood.

The tournament.

The event that would determine student rankings.

The event that could completely change a student’s future.

Only the strongest would gain access to the academy’s best resources.

The strongest training facilities.

The strongest techniques.

The strongest opportunities.

Kael leaned forward.

”Charlotte.”

She looked at him.

”If you’re serious about becoming stronger...”

A small smile appeared on his face.

”Then we’re going to make sure you enter the Top One Hundred.”

Charlotte froze.

The Top One Hundred?

Out of one thousand students?

That wasn’t a goal.

That was madness.

Yet looking into Kael’s eyes...

She realized he was completely serious.

And somehow...

That made her believe it might actually be possible.
