The Villian Who Broke The Story

After successfully awakening Charlotte’s lightning element and rushing her to the academy’s medical wing, Kael finally returned to his room. The exhausting events of the day left him mentally drained. While Charlotte recovered under the academy’s care, Kael found himself thinking about the upcoming ranking tournament and the opportunities that would come with earning a higher position within the academy.

It was already approaching dusk when Kael finally returned to his dormitory.

”I’ll need to meet Miss Stella soon,” he muttered while changing into comfortable clothes. ”There are still too many academy facilities I can’t access. Maybe challenging a higher-ranked student would be faster.”

His newly acquired badge rested on the desk beside his bed.

With higher rankings came better privileges, access to advanced training rooms, academy techniques, and more information about the school itself.

For someone like Kael, information was just as valuable as strength.

”Maybe I’ll find Lilith tomorrow,” he thought while lying down. ”I still need someone to teach me more about illusion magic.”

Before long, exhaustion overtook him.

The moment his eyes closed, sleep came almost instantly.

A cold sensation against his neck forced him awake.

Kael’s eyes snapped open.

The first thing he saw was a silver dagger.

The second thing he saw was Lilith.

She was lying comfortably beside him, her black hair spread across the pillow while her crimson eyes glowed faintly in the darkness.

A gentle smile rested on her face.

Kael stared at the blade.

Then at Lilith.

Then back at the blade.

”Is this karma?” he thought.

Lilith tilted her head.

”Aren’t you supposed to be protecting me?” Kael asked. ”This is the second time you’ve threatened me with a dagger.” He continued.

Lilith remained silent for a moment.

Then she looked away.

”Maybe I should just take you away from the academy.”

Kael blinked.

”What?”

Lilith’s cheeks slowly turned pink.

”If I take you somewhere far away, nobody will bother you.”

Her expression became strangely serious.

”I could protect you myself.”

Kael immediately knew she was entering one of her dangerous fantasy scenarios again.

”We could live somewhere peaceful.”

The smile on her face widened.

”No academy.”

”No assignments.”

”No annoying nobles.”

Kael sighed.

”And let me guess?”

Lilith nodded.

”We’d be happy forever.”

Kael covered his face with one hand.

Sometimes it was genuinely difficult to tell whether she was joking.

Or completely serious.

Unfortunately, experience told him it was usually the second option.

Without warning, Kael wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer.

Lilith immediately froze.

Her face turned bright red.

”You’ve been avoiding me.”

The words caused her expression to stiffen.

Kael looked directly at her.

Lilith lowered her gaze.

She didn’t deny it.

Ever since the incident in Velcrest City, she had maintained her distance.

She still watched him.

Still protected him.

Ready to appear whenever he was in danger.

But she refused to approach him openly.

”You know why,” she said quietly.

Kael already did.

Lilith wasn’t just a student.

She was a member of the Velvet Gang.

More importantly, she was acting as a spy within the academy.

The less attention she attracted, the better.

Still, that didn’t stop him from being annoyed.

A few moments passed before Lilith suddenly narrowed her eyes.

”Who’s Charlotte?”

Kael immediately understood.

So this was the real reason she had appeared tonight.

The room’s temperature seemed to drop slightly.

Even the dagger felt more dangerous.

Kael raised an eyebrow.

”Are you jealous?”

”What? No.”

The response came far too quickly.

Lilith crossed her arms.

”I was simply investigating.”

”Investigating?”

”Yes.”

Kael looked unconvinced.

Lilith stubbornly looked away.

”For your protection.”

”My protection?”

”She could be a spy.”

Kael almost laughed.

Charlotte?

A spy?

The girl practically wore her emotions on her face.

Still, he understood what Lilith truly meant.

She was worried.

And maybe a little jealous.

Mostly jealous.

”Charlotte is someone I’m helping.”

Lilith immediately looked back at him.

”Helping?”

”She’s useful.”

The answer only made her frown deeper.

Kael decided not to explain further.

Charlotte’s future importance was something only he knew.

After all, she was destined to become one of the strongest individuals in the game.

If he could help guide her growth now, it would benefit him later.

Lilith remained unconvinced.

For several seconds she simply stared at him.

Then she sighed.

”Fine.”

Kael smiled slightly.

”That’s surprisingly reasonable.”

”Don’t misunderstand.”

Lilith pointed the dagger at him again.

”I’m still watching her.”

Kael smiled at her statement ”You know what’s funny you’ve been avoiding me for the longest time now I finally have you in my arm”, Kael said with a smirk.

Lilith felt a bit of shiver from the desire that was clearly showing in Kael’s gaze ”What do you plan on doing?”,. Lilith Asked quite surprised from the sudden statement. ”Don’t forget that I’m the one with a Dagger here”, She suddenly stuttered.

Kael just smirked while holding her waist He turned maybe a bit too quickly ”Kyaa” Lilith yelped as she was placed on the bed below Kael, who held both her wrist in his arm placingover her head using his other hand to tilt Lilith’s face towards his focusing her gaze on his.

”I really missed you do you know that”, Kael said softly to Lilith.

Lilith was barely able to breathe quite stunned from the sudden change of event before she could lay her complain Kael kissed her deeply Lilith’s eyes widened slightly before she leaned into the kiss.
