Villain: Manipulating the Heroines into hating the Protagonist

Chapter 149 Ye Chen Makes Another Great Error

The Guild Master of the Celestial Talismanʼs Guild and the elders of the Celestial Dragonʼs Sect were fuming over Ye Chenʼs successful escape.

Despite their best efforts, they had been unable to locate him.

On the bright side, they had managed to capture numerous members of the Tung Clan who had participated in the raid on the guild. Moreover, they had also recovered five assault and three defensive King Realm talismans.

These captives had undergone intense interrogation under the effects of talismans, and they were willing to share whatever information they had.

Upon interrogation, the captured members of the Tung Clan revealed that the attack was orchestrated by the Second Princess Wang Yingʼs faction.

However, the motive behind the attack on the Celestial Talismanʼs Guild remained a mystery.

The Tung Clan also disclosed that their initial target was actually the branch of the Dao of Alchemy Society in Zhuyu City.

However, for some reason, the princess called off the attack, which led Ye Chenʼs team to set their sights on the Celestial Talismanʼs Guild.

The news of the attack on the Celestial Talismanʼs Guild by Ye Chenʼs team spread like wildfire, reaching the ears of everyone in the Empire within a matter of days.

However, the report didnʼt mention the involvement of the second princess.

The guild master knew that it would be unwise to reveal the princessʼs involvement in the matter.

He had his reasons to believe that the princess would pay a hefty sum to keep her name out of the news.

As he fled from the city, Ye Chen couldnʼt help but feel the weight of the situation pressing down on him.

His team had been exposed, and the guild master was sure to have sent out his most skilled trackers.

As he headed north, he kept a watchful eye on his surroundings, scanning the landscape for any sign of pursuit.

He knew he had to put as much distance between himself and the Celestial Talismanʼs Guild as possible.

Unbeknownst to Ye Chen, he was unwittingly making his way towards one of the fierce battlefields between the human and demon realms.

The Crown Prince himself was leading the charge, battling fiercely to subdue the demons.

This battlefield held immense strategic value for the demons, owing to the presence of a natural Yin Essence Spring that sprouted from the ground.

This spring was a vital resource for the demons, capable of strengthening their bloodline and enhancing their abilities.

Ye Chen stumbled upon a scene of intense battle, where the Crown Princeʼs soldiers had raided a demon hideout.

To their surprise, they found the demon princess of the Void Soul Twilight Dominion inside, protected by a cadre of powerful demon experts.

The air was thick with the clash of weapons and the whizzing of spells as human King Realm experts engaged the demon experts in fierce combat.

Ye Chen was ready to lend his support to the human side when his eyes fell upon the demon princess, who was unleashing devastating attacks with a purple belt.

However, it wasnʼt her fighting style that captured Ye Chenʼs attention, but her striking beauty.

Her long, flowing pink hair and piercing green eyes were mesmerizing, and her slender, curvy figure moved with deadly grace as she fought off the human attackers with ease.

Despite his loyalty to the human race, Ye Chen found himself transfixed by her otherworldly beauty and stood frozen in awe for several moments.

It wasnʼt until a sudden gust of wind jolted him back to reality that he realized he needed to snap out of his trance and focus on the situation at hand.

As Ye Chen snapped out of his trance, he noticed the perilous situation the demon princess was in.

She had sustained severe injuries and was on the verge of being dealt a fatal blow.

In desperation, she pulled out a talisman, but Ye Chen knew it would take time to activate it, and by then, it would be too late.

Reacting on instinct, Ye Chen charged forward with his Heavy Sword, unleashing a powerful attack called the Gust Slash.

The move disrupted the practitioner who was about to land the killing blow on the demon princess, causing him to retreat with a scowl on his face.

Ye Chen valiantly stood in front of the demon princess, shielding her from any further harm. His tone was cold and direct as he asked, ”Are you alright?”

But before he could receive an answer, the demon princess struck him with her purple belt, sending him hurtling to the ground.

As he looked up, he saw her swiftly healing her wounds. It was clear that she had only pretended to be injured in order to catch her opponent off-guard.

However, Ye Chenʼs unexpected intervention had foiled her plan, and she redirected her attack towards him in frustration.

The demon princess bellowed with frustration, ”The plan has failed. We must retreat!”

Upon hearing her command, all the demons quickly scattered and fled deeper into the demon territory.

The human experts, knowing the danger of venturing further, gave up on chasing them.

However, some of them turned their attention to Ye Chen and questioned his actions earlier.

They wondered why he had chosen to protect the demon princess, who was their enemy.

”Who the hell are you? Why did you interfere? We could have killed that devil if not for you!” he yelled with indignation, his face twisted in anger.

The others chimed in with mocking comments.

”Looks like we have a devil lover here,” one of them sneered.

”Seriously, what were you thinking?” another scoffed. ”Helping the enemy is just foolish.”

Despite the derogatory comments thrown his way, Ye Chen kept his composure and got up, brushing off the dirt from his clothes as he began to walk away.

But his attempt to leave was interrupted by the human experts who surrounded him, their expressions a mix of disbelief and suspicion.

”Wait a minute,” one of them said, stepping forward. ”We canʼt just let you go like that. Why did you protect the demon princess? Are you in league with the demons?”

Ye Chen looked at the group, sensing their hostility and mistrust. He spoke calmly, trying to reason with them.

”I assure you, I have no affiliation with demons or any other enemies of humanity,” he said.

”Weʼll be the judge of that!” a human expert sneered, using his King Realm qi to intimidate Ye Chen.

But Ye Chen stood firm, his own aura just as potent.

”If you want to stop me, then youʼll have to defeat me first!” he declared, brandishing his Heavy Sword.

Without hesitation, Ye Chen charged towards the human experts, ready to fight them all and make his escape. He knew that he couldnʼt take them all on, but he refused to go down without a fight.

However, it quickly became apparent that he was outnumbered and outmatched.

The humans were skilled fighters, and Ye Chen was unable to keep up with their attacks. As they closed in on him, he realized that there was no way he could escape with his meager abilities.

However, the impressive display of his swordsmanship had changed the human expertsʼ opinion of him. They were impressed by his skill and wondered who he was and where he had come from.

Ye Chen had even used Sword Qi, which had startled the King Realm experts and made them wonder about his true identity and background.

After subduing Ye Chen with chains, the humans presented him to the Crown Prince Wang Hao.

As Ye Chen lifted his head, he met the princeʼs gaze and was taken aback by his striking appearance.

Wang Hao had dark blue hair that fell to his shoulders in elegant waves, and his eyes sparkled with the color of rubies. He had an extremely handsome face, with sharp features and a lean, muscular body that exuded power and authority.

Ye Chenʼs heart began to race as he stared at Wang Hao, feeling a sense of fear for one of the first times in his life.

The crown prince gave off an oppressive and intimidating aura, as if he could crush Ye Chen with a mere flick of his finger.

Even when Ye Chen had fought Wang Jian, he hadnʼt experienced such a feeling.

The Crown Prince Wang Haoʼs impassive gaze was fixed on Ye Chen as he spoke, ”My subordinates told me what you did on the field. Why would you try and save the demon princess?”

In response to the Crown Princeʼs question, Ye Chen hesitated for a moment before answering. ”I... Iʼve never encountered a demon that looked so similar to a human before. I was confused and thought that some powerful experts were bullying a defenseless woman.”

Wang Hao sneered in response, ”…Who are you?”

He cleared his throat before finally speaking up. ”I am Ye Chen, a disciple of Old Chu from the Heavenly Blade Sect,” he said firmly, making sure to emphasize his masterʼs name.

Wang Haoʼs expression turned cold at the mention of Old Chuʼs name. He narrowed his ruby eyes dangerously, sizing up Ye Chen with a critical gaze.

”Old Chu, you say? The previous sect master of the Heavenly Blade Sect, huh?” he said slowly. ”But what makes you think you can interfere in our affairs?”

Ye Chen felt a wave of fear wash over him as he stared up at the imposing figure of the Crown Prince. He swallowed hard before replying, ”I... I acted on impulse. I didnʼt know that I was getting involved in your affairs.”

Wang Hao snorted in response. ”Ignorance is not an excuse,” he said icily. ”Guards, take him away and throw him in with the demon prisoners.”
