Chapter 669: How persistent they are

With the death of the third being and the destruction of the barrier inside Arabel’s mind, Silver and Arabel herself felt their connection with Bera being restored.

Arabel was in a semi-conscious state, so she didn’t understand what was going on. But Silver found out right away and, having received the information, like the rest of her sisters, was delighted.

“He’s here!” she exclaimed, wiping away her tears and smiling, hugging Arabel tighter.

However, out of excitement and joy, Silver lost her guard and made the mistake of trying to see Idan.

“I found you!” said the Dark System, which had been searching for Arabel’s main consciousness all this time.

“Oh no!” — Silver realized too late, noticing that they had been discovered.

Her secret room quickly began to corrode the black muck.

“No, no, no,” — Silver cried in panic.

This time, she didn’t have any older sisters by her side to support her.

Silver was so scared that she almost fainted, but Blue’s words did not let her give up.

Silver was so scared that she almost fainted, but Blue’s words, spoken by the last of her sisters, did not let her give up.

“I… I… can’t let them down…” she said, clenching her small fists, which didn’t stop shaking.

Before her room was completely consumed, Silver glanced at Arabel, who was unconscious again, and wiped away her tears.

Then she hugged her tightly once more, trying to hold back the tears that were trying to appear.

“Forgive me, big sister,” she whispered, and then teleported her out of her room to an unknown location.

When the Dark System completely engulfed her, Silver tried to seal it with her spatial powers.

“Pathetic efforts,” the Dark System laughed as Silver hastily created a spatial prison.

After absorbing the last, fifth fragment of consciousness, the Dark System began to study Arabel’s memory again.

Silver held Arabel’s freshest and last memories. The Dark System did not miss a single detail, having seen all the secrets and secrets of Arabel.

Now it knew everything about her.

It took it a while to digest those memories, and then a little more time to crack open Silver Prison.

“Now all that remains is to find her,” the Dark System said with some anticipation, and knowing where she was, rushed there.

After teleporting, Arabel found herself in a dark, empty space, curled up in a fetal position. After Silver was absorbed by the Dark System, she felt empty, as if there was nothing left of herself.

Soon, the Dark System finally found her.

Inside the black dome, all four Arabels were eagerly waiting for Idan’s answer, who was caught off guard by White Arabel’s question.

Obeying the order of the Dark System that swallowed them up and granted them freedom, the four Arabels, no matter how unpleasant they were, had to carry it out. None of them wanted to fight Idan, so they decided to try to delay him by talking.

“It would be correct to say that I like them all, because they are Belle,” Idan reflected. “But considering her possessive nature and insane jealousy…”

He glanced at the bound Pink Arabel with her mouth gagged.

“Belle, who is even jealous of her avatar, is unlikely to be happy if she finds out that I like all of them…”

“I also don’t think it would be a good idea to choose any of them,” Idan told himself, looking at each of Arabel in turn.

“If I choose Pink, then it is unknown what the other versions that have already linked it will do.

Considering that they are all under the control of the Dark System. And if I choose someone else, then I’m sure that crazy Pink will try to kill her, despite the fact that they are all parts of the same personality.”

“And if I say that I like the real Arabel, then there is a risk that others will envy. Even though they are all part of Arabel now, they may rebel and split into a full-fledged independent personality in the future.”

“Ah… What a headache.”

Perhaps it would be best to just keep quiet, Idan thought, and returned to the main task: how to deal with Arabel, divided into several parts.

The timer was inexorably counting down the time, which meant that the task given by the System: “Within 1 hour, try to find the current partner and reconnect” had not yet been completed.

“Dan?” the White Woman asked, noticing that Idan had been silent for too long. The others couldn’t wait any longer either and wanted an answer.

Idan smiled back at them, but when he saw their faces, he realized that simply remaining silent was not an option.

After thinking for a while, he smiled mysteriously and said:

“It’s a secret.”

The faces of all four changed instantly. They didn’t expect such a response from him. Deep down, each of them wanted him to choose her.

Meanwhile, in the back of Arabel’s mind, the Dark System, having discovered its target, was in no hurry to absorb it.

For the first time since its existence, the Dark System, looking at the defenseless Arabel, felt strange feelings that it could not explain.

Over its long history, it had absorbed many System Hosts and, like Arabel, had read many of their memories. Some of them were even more fascinating than what it saw in Arabel’s memories.

But why did it feel different with this particular Host?

It didn’t take long for the Dark System to figure out the reason.

“Nyxara,” it repeated in its monotone voice, remembering the name of the mysterious woman it had seen in Arabel’s memories. It didn’t know who this woman was, but somehow it knew her name.

It also recognized the ring by its appearance, but, as with the woman, Dark System could not understand what kind of ring it was and what functions it performed.

When the Dark System, after some hesitation, decided to ignore these feelings and devour Arabel to complete its plan, the ring it had just remembered appeared on it way to her.

The Dark System stopped and stared at the ring. It was spinning slowly, attracting it attention.

Once again, the Dark System was in a state that it could not explain. For some reason it couldn’t understand, it reached for the ring.

As soon as it touched it, the ring suddenly activated. To the surprise of the Dark System, a suction force appeared, which began to absorb it into the ring.

The force was so powerful that the Dark System couldn’t resist. Before it was completely absorbed, it was forced to temporarily abandon absorbing Arabel’s main consciousness and escape by directly transferring to another previously captured Host.

“No, no, no, that won’t do,” the Black One said, not accepting Idan’s answer. “Dan, tell us honestly, which one of us do you prefer?”

“Yes, Dan, tell me who?” Blue joined in.

“I agree with the sisters, so, Dan, tell me who?” the White Woman agreed.

And the Pink One was mumbling with her mouth sealed.

“How persistent they are,” — Idan felt a little nervous under their demanding gazes.

While he was trying to think of something to say to them, their attention was suddenly attracted by the ring that appeared in front of the White Arabel.

“Huh?” she managed to say, as the ring flew into her body. And at the same moment, all the other versions of Arabel grabbed their heads.

Before Idan’s eyes, all but the White One turned into black figures, and then into black goo, which fell onto the debris and then were sucked into the body of the White Arabel, becoming one with her.

Idan was very scared for Arabel and managed to catch her before she fell like a puppet whose strings were cut.
