CEO's Reborn Wife

Fortunately, the organizer arranged enough seats, which avoided the embarrassment of lacking seating.

Jillian Carter and her assistant were seated in the very last row.

Seeing this arrangement, Jillian sat there, nearly with a cold face.

”Seems like Joseph Shaw isn’t much help either. People don’t give him much face, and I didn’t get any special treatment as Jillian Carter.” Jillian thought there would be a reserved seat with her name written on a nameplate in the first row.

Only upon entering did she realize that the seats were not arranged by name, but rather first-come, first-serve.

”President Carter, it’s not quite right to think like that,” the assistant quickly explained upon seeing Jillian’s mood, ”Attending this Investment Attraction Conference are brands from all over the world, including many first-tier brands that have cooperated with Bright Light for many years. Therefore, the seating can’t be pre-arranged. First-come, first-serve is the most appropriate rule, which helps the organizer avoid offending anyone.”

The assistant thought Jillian would feel better after his explanation, but after he spoke, her face looked even worse.

Realizing he might have spoken out of turn, the assistant quickly fell silent and sat quietly next to her, not daring to make a sound.

He lamented silently, thinking that going on a business trip with the capricious President Carter was truly a tough job.

At the hotel, the investment conference started on time.

Seated at the head were Bright Light’s Chairman and related senior executives from Bright Light Group and leaders from the relevant departments of City Z, showing that not only Bright Light but also the leaders of City Z valued this investment.

After the conference began, etiquette provided everyone present with explanations regarding the investment matters of six commercial plazas under Bright Light. Jane Sampson listened to the speech on stage while flipping through the material in her hand.

She had limited understanding of commercial matters, so she found what they were saying to be cloudy and foggy. At times, everything they said seemed particularly sensible, while at other times, it felt entirely wrong.

Jane sat there, holding her mobile phone, quietly sent a message to Coco Edwards.

Did you understand? — James Black’s wife.

If I did, I should be called General Manager Edwards by now. — Coco Edwards.

Hahaha, shake hands, shake hands, I didn’t understand either. Let’s leave this to the General Manager and her assistant; they seem to be listening quite attentively. — James Black’s wife.

After sending the message to Coco, Jane leaned on her head for a while. She realized that if she continued listening, she’d soon be nodding off, so she quickly took out her mobile phone and started bothering James Black.

Hubby~ Hubby~ — James Black’s wife.

Boring? — Jane Sampson’s Mr. Black.

Seeing the message Jane sent in a coy tone, James could immediately tell that Jane, at this moment, was sitting at the conference venue listening with a troubled expression and not understanding much.

Getting someone who studied music and never dealt with business to attend this investment conference was indeed a bit of a challenge.

Crossing industries usually involves preparation and experience before doing so.

Jane Sampson was completely an outsider; listening after the initial novelty wore off would undoubtedly make her sleepy.

After all, Jane was a public figure, and even if she wore a mask and scarf to cover up a bit, she feared being recognized. Moreover, attending such a conference, whether a public figure or not, laying on the tabletop to sleep was always inelegant and very impolite.
