CEO's Reborn Wife

”Go wash up, and after that, get some rest early,” James Black said, holding Jane Sampson’s hand as they got off the bed. It wasn’t until this moment that he turned on the electric light in the room.

After getting used to the dim environment, the sudden brightness made Jane Sampson instinctively close her eyes.

It took her a few seconds before she slowly opened her eyes, looking up at James Black before her.

James Black was also looking at her; Jane Sampson saw herself reflected in his eyes.

And only herself.

After washing up, Jane Sampson lay in James Black’s arms, feeling the warmth from his body spreading through her own.

Jane Sampson thought, perhaps tonight was the craziest night of her life.

And it would also be the craziest thing she had ever done in her life.

In one night, she crossed thousands of miles to return to his side.

Jane Sampson could still remember that night filming in the northwest when she was tormented by acute high altitude disease, wrapped in the fear of the night, curled up alone in the corner of the room, enduring second by second.

She remembered the moment she dialed James Black’s phone, how helpless and desperate she felt.

And she remembered how ecstatically happy she was the night James Black appeared.

If asked when she first fell in love with this man,

Jane Sampson thought, it must have been that night.

She once considered him her savior.

Later, she willingly became immersed in his world.

She loved him.

——

After a night of traveling, Jane Sampson quickly fell asleep in James Black’s arms.

At the team base, for the first time, James Black did not wake up at 5:30 sharp in the morning.

It wasn’t until the sound of knocking startled him and the person in his arms awake, that James Black furrowed his brows and glanced at the alarm clock on the bedhead cabinet, then slowly tucked Jane Sampson in under the quilt.

”It sounds like Peter Gingery,” Jane Sampson murmured as she rubbed her drowsy eyes, ”You go open the door.”

”It’s still early, keep sleeping. I’ll bring lunch back from the dining hall for you at noon. Once you’ve eaten, I’ll drive you to the airport,” James Black kissed her forehead, coaxing her softly to continue sleeping, then closed the bedroom door behind him.

Outside the door, it was indeed Peter Gingery.

He had even brought breakfast over.

”Brother, why didn’t you go for morning exercise today?” Peter Gingery was worried because he didn’t see James Black all morning, so he brought breakfast to check on him.

”Mm, I didn’t go.” James Black didn’t explain why; he simply reached out to take the breakfast from Peter Gingery’s hand but stood blocking the doorway, not intending to let Peter inside.

”???” Peter Gingery was dumbfounded. ”Brother, are you not letting me in?”

”I’m glad you figured that out,” James Black raised an eyebrow.

”No, Brother, you can’t do this,” Peter Gingery scratched his head, ”You’re acting a bit strange. Anyone would think you’ve got something shady hidden inside.”

Peter Gingery didn’t expect to apply ’concealing a beauty in a golden house’ to James Black, as that wasn’t something James Black would do.

Besides, Jane Sampson had gone to work; there was no beauty for James Black to hide at the team base.

”Brother, let me in, I have something to tell you,” Peter Gingery pushed James Black but couldn’t move him. ”It’s really about the two kids.”

”Say it here, then you can leave,” James Black didn’t allow entry and reminded him, ”Keep your voice down. Don’t wake your sister-in-law. She arrived very late last night and has to catch a flight this afternoon. The more sleep she gets, the better.”

”What? Little Jane’s back?” Peter Gingery was stunned, ”She actually rushed back late last night?”

So, inside James Black’s room, there truly was a hidden beauty.
