Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 1052: Chapter 1038: He Still Came

”And you’ve decided to take Xiao En to North City to live, Xiao Kang, I really don’t know how to thank you!”

Hearing this, Kang Li smiled and said, ”Auntie, you’re being too polite again. I’ve already said that Xiao En is also mine and Luo Yanqing’s child. Since we hold the identity of parents, we must take responsibility for the child. We can’t just watch Xiao En develop psychological issues.”

”It’s not that I’m being polite with you, it’s that you and Little Luo have good hearts and think everything through so thoroughly. Counting what Uncle Loh and I owe you both from before, I guess even when we’re gone, we still can’t repay your kindness.”

Old Lady Li’s words came from the heart.

Kang Li: ”Auntie, you can’t say anything inauspicious. You and Uncle Loh will live a long life, and you have to watch Xiao En grow up, marry, and have children!”

”Alright, alright, Auntie won’t say those gloomy words anymore. Auntie will live well, and so will your Uncle Loh. While we’re alive, maybe we can even help Xiao En with the kids.”

Old Lady Li said with a smile, hearing this, Kang Li said, ”When Xiao En has kids, there will be no need to trouble both of you elders to help out. At that time, you can just enjoy your family happiness!”

Lunch was tomato and egg noodles.

After it was over, Kang Li accompanied Old Lady Li to the kitchen to wash the dishes. After cleaning up the kitchen thoroughly, the two returned to the living room and joined Luo Yanqing and Elder Loh’s chat.

As for Xiao Loh En, he was still asleep, but Old Lady Li said that when the little guy woke up, she would make fine noodles for lunch. Thus, during lunchtime, Kang Li didn’t wake the child up.

”Auntie, you mentioned on the phone that Xiao En suddenly stopped being close to Comrade Xiao. What’s that about?”

Sipping her tea, Kang Li asked Old Lady Li.

”I don’t know.”

Old Lady Li shook her head: ”Both your Uncle Loh and I have thought about it carefully and even asked Xiao Xiao, but we don’t know what the reason is.”

”I feel something must have happened.”

Kang Li’s tone was firm.

Old Lady Li sighed: ”But Xiao Xiao likes Xiao En, and both your Uncle Loh and I can see it. He never even lost his temper in front of Xiao En, let alone said a harsh word.”

”Perhaps there is something that Comrade Xiao has overlooked.”

Hearing Kang Li say this, Old Lady Li was silent for a moment. She looked at Elder Loh and then said, ”I’ll ask Xiao Xiao about it later.”

...

In the mid-afternoon, after waking up and eating tomato egg noodles, Xiao Loh En started his clingy mode again, staying close to Kang Li without saying a word.

”Knock, knock, knock!”

Someone knocked on the door.

”I’ll get it.”

Luo Yanqing stood up first, walking with his long legs to the door. When he opened it, he was momentarily stunned, then politely asked, ”Comrade, who are you looking for?”

”I’m here to find Li...”

Xiao Shen and Luo Yanqing sized each other up, but before he could finish speaking, Old Lady Li’s voice came from the living room: ”Little Luo, let Xiao Xiao in!”

Luo Yanqing: ”Please come in.”

”Thank you.”

Xiao Shen entered, went straight to the living room: ”Teacher, Master.”

He had mustered the courage to finally come at this time, wanting to ask about Xiao Loh En’s parentage from his mentor and master, as well as... as well as reveal the incident that happened between him and Loh Xue before.

Since it involved personal privacy, when Xiao Shen saw Luo Yanqing and Kang Li, he was at a loss for how to begin in front of Elder Loh and Old Lady Li.

”Have a seat, let me introduce these two to you. They are Xiao En’s godfather and godmother.”
