Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 951: Chapter 948: I’ll Do My Best

”Is everything you said true?”

Yan Rou asked Kang Yihong, her tears stopping.

”Yeah.”

Kang Yihong nodded, then withdrew his hand and took a handkerchief from his pants pocket, offering it to Yan Rou: ”Here, it’s clean.”

Yan Rou widened her eyes: ”Why do you need to explain that specifically?”

”You guys at the Youth Educated Institute are particular about hygiene, and since you’re a girl, I was worried you’d mind.”

Feeling a tad awkward, Kang Yihong added: ”This handkerchief is new; I washed it and let it dry, never used it once.”

Yan Rou wiped her tears, a hint of laughter in her voice as she asked: ”Is everyone in your family so particular?”

”My grandma, my mom, and my aunts all like cleanliness. And my little aunt loves cleanliness so much, she insisted we nephews each carry a handkerchief or she wouldn’t play with us, even said she hated snotty kids!”

Saying this, Kang Yihong’s cheeks turned slightly red: ”You saw it at my house too, my brother and cousin aren’t much different from city kids.”

”That’s all thanks to your little aunt’s influence.”

Yan Rou spoke, a smile appearing on her face: ”Your family’s atmosphere is great, I actually really like everyone in your family.”

”We all influence each other in our family, but in our house, my little aunt is everyone’s treasure; everyone dotes on her, so don’t be shy.”

”As they should.”

There wasn’t a trace of hostility in Yan Rou’s eyes: ”Your little aunt seems exceptional and very gentle. I felt a sense of closeness when I saw her, and I can’t help but want to get closer... Kang Yihong, do you think your little aunt will like me?”

Kang Yihong nodded: ”Don’t worry, my little aunt is kind to everyone, to be precise, everyone in my family is kind. With time, you’ll see if my family likes you.”

”I’ll be sure to make a good impression.”

Yan Rou’s eyes were moist, filled with a smile: ”Can we hang out more with your little aunt’s family in the future?”

Kang Yihong: ”Of course we can, my little aunt treats us nephews well, she’s both an elder and a friend. When we have free time, let’s visit her house.”

Yan Rou: ”Don’t you dare lie to me!”

Kang Yihong smiled: ”Don’t worry, I won’t lie to you.”

”I’m ready; shall we head to the department store!”

Yan Rou said, taking the initiative to hold Kang Yihong’s hand. But just as Kang Yihong’s heart began to race, Yan Rou let go of his hand, which left him a bit disappointed. It was then Yan Rou said, ”People will talk if they see us.”

Hearing this explanation, Kang Yihong felt like fireworks were exploding in his heart.

...

After leaving the department store, the two had a meal at a state-owned restaurant, then caught a bus to leave the county town.

Youth Educated Institute.

”What did you do so early in the morning?”

Hearing the door of Yan Rou’s dormitory creak, Wang Qin quickly came out of her dorm room, curiously following Yan Rou inside, her eyes fixed on the travel bag in Yan Rou’s hand.

”Kang Yihong and I are getting married on the 28th of the twelfth lunar month; today his family had us go to the county town to buy things for the wedding.”

Placing the travel bag on the kang bed, Yan Rou replied to Wang Qin.

”What did you buy?”

Staring at the travel bag on the kang bed, Wang Qin couldn’t resist wanting to unzip it herself.

”Just some face cream, a mirror, a washbasin, a kettle, and stuff.”

Lighting the firewood stuffed in the kang stove in the morning, Yan Rou replied to Wang Qin while fanning the stove with a fan.

”You’re not fooling me, are you? How come I didn’t see a washbasin and a kettle, just this bulging travel bag you brought back? Why don’t I open it and take a look?”
