Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 789: Chapter 789 Confiscation of Savings at Home

Doctor: ”It is indeed a concussion, and hospitalization for treatment is necessary.”

Wen Siyuan: ”How many days?”

Doctor: ”About a week.”

Wen Siyuan: ”When will my youngest daughter be able to speak?”

After a moment of thought, the doctor spoke, ”That... is hard to say.”

”I don’t understand what you mean.”

Wen Siyuan frowned.

”From my observations, the patient is currently unwilling to speak. In other words, it all depends on the patient herself.”

The doctor’s tone was gentle and polite: ”The parents could spend more time with the child and talk to her more.”

Seeing Wen Yu sitting on the hospital bed, staring at her sisters Wen Yue and Wen Yi, the doctor couldn’t help but ask, ”Is the patient’s fright related to her two sisters?”

At this, Wen Siyuan paused, then nodded his head.

”Then explain the current situation of her sisters clearly to the patient, tell her that her sisters’ injuries are not serious, and that they will recover in a few days.”

The doctor made the suggestion and, after his words fell, reminded Wen Siyuan and Mrs. Wen a couple more things before turning and leaving the ward.

”How have you handled the situation at home?”

As footsteps receded down the hospital corridor outside the room, Mrs. Wen called Wen Sinan and Wen Yue to breakfast with her three daughters, and then turned her gaze to Wen Siyuan to ask the question.

Upon hearing this, Wen Siyuan recounted how he had asked Director Song for help in arranging work for Su Man, and how he took Su Man to the Red Star Department Store to complete her hiring process before coming to the hospital. He finished by saying, ”As for Wen Yue and the others, they will be mainly taken care of by Sister-in-law Zheng, the nanny we’ve employed at home.”

”You’ve hired a nanny for the house?”

Mrs. Wen was first surprised, then immediately disapproving, ”Why spend that money?”

”Mom... if I don’t hire someone to look after the children, do you want Su Man to continue causing trouble at home?”

Wen Siyuan, frowning, showed a hint of distress on his face, ”I’ve told you before, I wanted you to help me look after the children for a few years, but you flat-out refused. Now, in order to have peace at home and to ensure that work doesn’t suffer, I have no choice but to hire someone to help take care of the children, and by the way, do the laundry and cook for them.

As for Su Man, she’s currently a temporary worker, and she has to give more than half of her monthly salary towards part of Sister-in-law Zheng’s wages. I will cover the rest. I’ve already discussed this matter with both Su Man and Sister-in-law Zheng.”

Mrs. Wen, with a stern face, asked, ”How much per month?”

Wen Siyuan: ”Thirty.”

Mrs. Wen’s eyes widened, ”That much?”

”Pengpeng is still young and needs more attention, plus Wen Yi and Wen Yu need to be picked up and dropped off at kindergarten. Sister-in-law Zheng has to do all of this by herself. Thirty a month isn’t too much for her.”

In Wen Siyuan’s view, thirty really wasn’t a lot.

Consider this: she has to watch the children at home, cook for them and do their laundry, as well as ferry two children to and from kindergarten. The work isn’t physically demanding, but it is taxing, and with the lingering traditional attitudes of the old society, the title of ’nanny’ doesn’t carry a good reputation.

For this reason, families that were just getting by, would not necessarily want to work as a domestic helper for someone else.

”Forget it, I’m done interfering, you just play the big-hearted fool!”

Mrs. Wen, frustrated, waved her hands and said with a cold face, ”Others marry a wife to have a partner in life, but the one you brought into the house is a troublemaker. Don’t believe me, just wait and see. With your wife’s temperament, I’m afraid she won’t last long at the department store.”

”As long as the money at home isn’t in her hands, she’ll have to go to work if she wants spending money, otherwise it’s up to her.”

Besides the sum set aside for half a year’s living expenses, all other savings were now in Wen Siyuan’s pocket.
