Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 788: Chapter 788 No Room for Negotiation

”Right, take down the landline number of my home...”

After reciting the home phone number, Wen Siyuan placed the receiver back on the cradle.

About five or six minutes later, Director Song’s call came through.

Wen Siyuan: ”... yes, I understand, so I’ll take her to handle the paperwork right away. No, it wasn’t a bother, rest assured, I’ve made things clear with her. Okay, I’ll sort out the home affairs and then return to the station... alright, goodbye.”

After the call ended, Wen Siyuan stood up without showing much emotion and called for Su Man. Seeing her emerge from the room, he turned and headed towards the door: ”I also need to go to the hospital, so you better be quick.”

Su Man, clutching her purse, hastened her pace to keep up with Wen Siyuan: ”The job was something I asked Director Song to find for you, working at the counter in Red Star Department Store. If you do well, you could become a regular employee in no more than two years.”

”A temp job? You want me to take a temp job?”

Su Man exclaimed, her face looking quite distressed: ”Why can’t it be a permanent position?”

Wen Siyuan’s tone was indifferent: ”What’s wrong with a temp job?”

Stopping in his tracks, Wen Siyuan stared directly into Su Man’s eyes with an imposing gaze and said word by word: ”I made myself very clear last night. If you dare go behind my back again, disregarding what I’ve told you, we will go and file for divorce immediately!”

”Fine, I’ll do it...”

Su Man’s tone immediately softened. She knew that Wen Siyuan wasn’t joking with her last night, and she also knew... she also knew she was in the wrong this time. If it weren’t for their son Pengpeng, this man would not only divorce her but also have her sent to the police station.

The most critical point was that Wen Yi and Wen Yu’s situation was still unclear. If something were to happen to those two girls, her life would certainly not be easy in the future.

”The monthly salary is twenty-five. You’ll take out fifteen each month, and I’ll add another fifteen to pay Sister-in-law Zheng’s wages. Additionally, after work, you’re responsible for looking after Pengpeng yourself, and you’ll also wash your own clothes, instead of dumping everything on Sister-in-law Zheng.”

”Why pay an extra five? I had already agreed with Sister-in-law Zheng on twenty-five.”

”Sister-in-law Zheng is responsible for looking after Pengpeng during the day, picking up and dropping off Wen Yi and Wen Yu, as well as cooking and washing the children’s clothes.”

”That’s too much!”

”Do as I said.”

Wen Siyuan left no room for negotiation with Su Man.

After taking Su Man to complete the onboarding process at Red Star Department Store, Wen Siyuan headed to the hospital without saying another word to her.

Today, Su Man started her job. Though it was easy work, for someone who had lived through a life already and carried a bit of arrogance, she found it dull, which naturally affected her attitude towards the customers.

Furthermore, having firsthand experience dealing in the black market, where she could net twenty to thirty on slower days and up to fifty on good days, she hardly cared about standing at a counter for a month to earn a mere twenty-five.

Okay, the more she thought about it, the more resentful Su Man became about Wen Yue ruining the Jade Pendant!

With her spirits down, her attitude towards the customers became even worse.

”Xiao Su, if you don’t want to do this job, go and talk to the supervisor. Don’t take it out on the customers.”

The person in charge of the next counter was a woman in her forties, who couldn’t stand to watch Su Man’s attitude towards the customers and thus gave a warning.

Su Man’s face flushed red: ”I...” Mind your own damn business! Bowing her head, a flicker of defiance flashed in Su Man’s eyes.

If she hadn’t wanted to avoid divorce, she wouldn’t bother with this counter job. Even if they paid her thirty-five rather than twenty-five a month, she wouldn’t do it!

Hospital.

Wen Siyuan: ”A concussion?”
