Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 690: Chapter 690: You Can Do It Too

As for the performance on the track, it could only show that Kang Li had very good on-the-spot explosive power.

”Great work!”

After stepping down from the podium, Director Loh, beaming, came forward and handed Kang Li her water bottle, ”Have some water.”

”Thank you.”

Kang Li took the water bottle, drank a sip, and asked, ”When are we returning home?”

Director Loh said, ”We’ll rest for two days before we head back.” Though he said it was to rest for two days, it was actually to give everyone some time to stroll around nearby and to adjust their post-competition feelings.

Another reason was to see if anyone needed to buy anything.

That noon, teammate Han Xia asked Kang Li, ”Want to go look around? It would be a pity to attend an international competition abroad and not buy something to take back home.”

”It seems like Director Loh’s two days of rest are very humane.” With a twinkle in her pretty fox eyes, Kang Li changed her clothes, picked up her bag and said, ”Let’s go, I also want to buy some things for my family.”

The previous noon all the events had finished, and even if Han Xia hadn’t suggested going shopping, Kang Li had wanted to go out for a walk anyway.

Han Xia said, ”We can’t go too far.”

Kang Li replied, ”Director Loh did mention that, I remember it well.”

Han Xia asked, ”What do you plan to buy?”

Kang Li answered, ”Let’s see first.”

Han Xia said, ”Me too.”

The two of them walked and chatted, and by the time almost two and a half hours had passed, both Kang Li and Han Xia’s hands were full of large and small bags.

”We’ve had quite a haul today.”

On the way back to where they were staying, Han Xia said with a laugh.

”Yes, judging by what we’re carrying in our hands, we did indeed make a good haul.”

Kang Li responded with a smile, only to hear Han Xia say again, ”You were so awesome today! No, not just today, but ever since we’ve known you, you’ve been incredible.”

Kang Li laughed and did not reply.

Han Xia went on, ”During every one of your competitions, if our team members didn’t have their own events, they would all watch you dominate on the track, and you never let us down. How can you be so amazing?”

Kang Li said, ”Everyone is amazing.”

Han Xia insisted, ”Yes, yes, everyone is amazing, but you are the most incredible. Winning gold medals seems too easy for you, and today when we were shopping, those foreign salespeople were quite dismissive towards us. But as soon as you spoke up, along with the sudden change in your demeanor, you had such a commanding presence!”

”You can do it too.”

Remembering how those foreign salespeople looked down on them in the department store, Kang Li felt displeased, but she was never one to bottle up her feelings. Based on that, she naturally ”politely” counterattacked.

If she was in the right, she had nothing to fear.

Moreover, the customer is king, and as long as the department store didn’t want to tarnish its reputation, apologizing to her and her teammates was inevitable.

In fact, to avoid making a big issue of it, the store manager not only took the initiative to apologize but also reprimanded and fined the rude salespeople. Only then did she not pursue the matter further.

”By the way, Kang Li, Mr. Lao En, the manager of that department store, wanted to refund us the money we spent buying things, why didn’t you accept it?” Han Xia referred to Mr. Lao En, the manager of the department store.

Kang Li said, ”If we chose to accept that, it wouldn’t just be us losing face, but also dishonoring our country.”

On hearing this, Han Xia was first taken aback, then her expression turned ugly, ”Do you mean to say that Mr. Lao En, by offering compensation on the surface, was actually giving us charity? Like shooing away a beggar, right?”

”I don’t know if that was his intention, but we certainly couldn’t accept it.
