Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 664: Chapter 664 Harmony between Sisters-in-Law and Mother-daughter-in-Law

”Now Chunmei has reported them to the police station, and if things go poorly, they might both be sent off to who knows where for reeducation.”

”If it really comes to that, it’s only what Uncle Xu and Aunt Gao brought upon themselves.”

Kang Li didn’t show any particular emotion on his face.

”That means Chunxia and her brothers will probably be unwelcomed in our village after this.”

Third sister-in-law Kang said, her heart involuntarily filled with a sigh.

”That’s their family’s business, it’s got nothing to do with us.”

A daughter doesn’t want to marry, but her parents, driven by profit, insist on marrying her off, leading to the current situation. It can only be said that the fault lies with the parents who can’t see reason.”

Third sister-in-law Kang: ”That’s true, but we all live in the same village. With such an incident happening in the Xu family, it’s embarrassing for us as well, don’t you think?”

Kang Li: ”Third sister-in-law, you’re pregnant, and overthinking is not good for you. Just know that the trouble caused by the Xu family is their own doing. If their reputation suffers, it affects them, not us.”

”Alright, maybe I am overthinking it.”

Third sister-in-law Kang laughed uncomfortably. She then asked, ”Should we go out and see what’s happening?”

Kang Li shook her head: ”No need. I still have unfinished things to pack. You can either keep sitting in the living room, or I can help you go back to your room to lie down.”

”You should just go attend to your things. I’ve given birth to Fei Fei and the others, I don’t need such careful attention. Go ahead with what you need to do. I’ll sit here a little longer; mother and elder sister-in-law should be back soon.”

Feeling warmed by Kang Li’s words, Third sister-in-law Kang smiled and waved her off, and watching this, Kang Li stood up: ”Then third sister-in-law, please take care of yourself. If you need anything, just call for me.”

Smiling and nodding, Third sister-in-law Kang watched Kang Li go back to her room.

”Mom, are you saying Chunxia’s parents were just taken away by the officers from the police station like that?”

Elder sister-in-law Kang’s voice came from the courtyard. Hearing this, Third sister-in-law Kang stood up and walked to the doorway of the living room: ”Mom, elder sister-in-law, second sister-in-law, are you back?!”

Cai Xiufen gave an ”mm-hmm” and, glancing at her eldest daughter-in-law Wang Ju, said, ”If they didn’t take them away, what would the police officers be doing in our village?”

”It’s not like it was any big deal, just a couple locking their daughter in her room for two days.”

Elder sister-in-law Kang felt the Xu family’s situation didn’t warrant the involvement of the police officers.

”Elder sister-in-law, they gave their daughter medicine, luckily the dose was small and she woke up after a day’s sleep. If the dose had been larger, it could have been fatal.”

Once her sister-in-law He Hui explained, elder sister-in-law Kang suddenly understood: ”I see, I oversimplified the situation.”

”That’s enough about the Xu family’s troubles; you all go do what you need to. I must also sort out my things because I’ll be leaving with Li Bao tomorrow morning. You and the eldest will have to pay more attention to our father’s care.”

Cai Xiufen was speaking to elder sister-in-law Kang.

”Don’t worry, mom. My husband and I will take very good care of dad.”

Elder sister-in-law Kang promptly expressed her stance.

Third sister-in-law Kang: ”Mom, Fei Fei’s dad and I will also take good care of dad.”

”You’re pregnant; just take care of yourself. Later, when you’re in confinement, if Li Bao can get away, I’ll come back to help. If he really can’t leave, I’ll make phone calls to check in.”

Moved by Cai Xiufen’s words, Third sister-in-law Kang felt emotional: ”Mom, you don’t have to worry about me. Fei Fei’s dad is here, and he will take good care of me, not to mention my own mother will be there. The baby and I will definitely be fine.”

Cai Xiufen: ”Just be extra careful, to avoid any complications.”
