She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1130: Chapter 1193: Choosing to Forgive

”This... this bastard... I’m dying, and he still... still doesn’t know to come back.”

”Wuwuwu...” Sheng Ning couldn’t hold back anymore and started to cry out loud.

Su Hai stood beside her, gently holding her in his arms, his warm hand softly patting her back.

”Don’t cry. If you cry, the old man will be upset.”

”I’m sorry... I’m sorry...”

”The old man’s greatest wish wasn’t for this Su Family to have power, but for you to be happy for a lifetime. The Su Family’s power is just to protect that happiness.”

Sheng Ning slowly wiped her tears away, sniffled and said, ”I won’t anymore, Uncle.”

The word ”Uncle” made Su Hai look at her excitedly. He had waited a long time, Ningning accepted her father, her elder brother and nephew, but refused to accept him.

He thought he would never hear Ningning call him Uncle in this lifetime.

”I’m going to rest now, I’m so tired.” Sheng Ning smiled, her face, after crying, and red eyes still looked so good when she smiled.

Su Hai squatted excitedly in front of the hospital bed, ”Dad, did you hear that? Ningning called me Uncle.”

The old man opened his eyes and then slowly closed them again.

Though he didn’t speak, Su Hai could understand the disdain in the old man’s eyes.

”Dad, you must wait for elder brother, let elder brother see you one last time,” Su Hai said.

The old man’s life was slipping away double time now, there wasn’t much time left for him to be clear-headed, some words if not said today, might never have the chance to be said.

”Su... Su Yun?” The old man asked with difficulty.

”She’s been locked up by Meng Xingzhi.”

”Don’t... don’t look for her, let it... let it be!”

”I can’t do it.” Su Hai thought of how elder brother’s life or death was uncertain now, and he couldn’t swallow this anger.

”She... she’s still my daughter, what parent in this world doesn’t love their children?” Even till death, the old man never truly hated Su Yun. He understood his younger son’s character, after he died Su Yun would certainly face retaliation.

But she was his daughter, the daughter he loved for decades, how could he truly hate her?

”I... I’ve forgiven her.”

”Dad, she killed you, I can’t forgive her.”

”I... I deserve death, living all these years... it’s already a gain.”

”Forget it...” The old man was truly too tired, slowly sinking into deep coma.

Su Hai painfully closed his eyes, only opening them again after a long while, ”Dad, I’ll listen to you, the last time I’ll listen to you.”

In the afternoon, Shen Luhua and An’an also arrived at the hospital, bringing lots of clothes, toiletries, and food. Sheng Ning hadn’t returned all night yesterday, Shen Luhua was extremely worried, originally planning to return to the countryside soon, but now it seemed she could only delay.

”Ningning!” Shen Luhua held Sheng Ning tightly and affectionately in her arms, softly soothing her, ”You must be strong, the old man certainly doesn’t want to see you sad.”

”Mmm!” Sheng Ning also understood, life is unpredictable, human efforts can’t change it, all one can do is adapt, to cherish more.

She looked at An’an whose expression was a bit dazed, ”We have to get discharged and return to the courtyard later, can An’an accompany me?”

”Okay!” An’an didn’t speak, obediently nodded. She actually understood in her heart, that her sister wanted her to return to the courtyard to live, was trying to reconcile her with the Hai Family.

If it were usual times she would certainly refuse, but now she suddenly didn’t want to refuse.

”Mom, how about you? Can you live with me too?”
