She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 852: Chapter 893: No Visits Allowed

This girl not going into comedy or stand-up is such a waste. Letting her stay in the dance group is wasting talent, she’s totally a comedy master delayed by dance.

Arriving at Wenyin’s office, Sheng Ning loudly announced, “Reporting!”

“Come in!”

The door wasn’t closed, both Wenyin and Teacher Qiu Bai were there. Seeing her, the two of them showed a hint of surprise at the same time.

“Why are you here? Why aren’t you staying at the hospital?”

“Qigang’s assistant came, and there are dedicated nurses at the hospital, so I took a moment to come back. Since I left in a hurry, I didn’t have time to ask for leave.” Sheng Ning felt quite embarrassed, and she proactively admitted her mistake with a very correct attitude.

“This is a special situation, the organization can understand.” Wenyin nodded seriously, “I heard from people who came back that the situation was very forgetting at the time. They were at the Heihe border…”

So Sheng Ning was slightly exasperated, once again spending half an hour listening to a real-life version of Pearl Harbor.

“By the way, we originally agreed to visit him this afternoon, but then the hospital issued a notice strictly refusing people from the General Union and Rescue Association, making it impossible for me to go.” Wenyin was fuming, “Do you think the Main Hospital is deliberately targeting us? Or are they jealous of our division? Why can people from the province and other groups go, but we can’t? Captain Xu is our person, now it feels like they’re trying to take our people away.”

“… Uh, I think I know the reason.” Sheng Ning wore a wry smile, secretly giving the Dean a thumbs up in her heart. Good job, we definitely shouldn’t let the General Union and Rescue Association people in, otherwise who knows what kind of chaos the hospital would be in.

Wenyin talked until her throat was dry and finally drank all the water in one gulp before putting down the cup.

“Captain Xu is a good guy, I really admire him.”

“I admire him too.” For some reason, she remembered the image of someone secretly smoking, turning the towering hero in her mind into a childlike mountain king.

Qiu Bai hadn’t said anything, staring at Wenyin so much that his eyes were about to go out of focus. Qiu Bai was completely against Sheng Ning taking a half-year leave; she had worked hard to nurture an excellent dancer, and many would become slack during such a long break. Once they slack off, returning to peak condition would take at least a year, and if they have children, it’s possible they might never return to their peak.

For a dancer, this is simply intolerable. Since the Spring Festival Gala ended, Qiu Bai began contacting her teachers in the U.S., hoping that Sheng Ning would have the chance to stand on the Broadway stage in the future, making the whole world fall for her.

She hoped that her student would achieve dreams she hadn’t completed.

Sheng Ning felt the pressure from Qiu Bai’s gaze, her expression slightly tense. “I’m sorry, Teacher Qiu Bai, for troubling you.”

Qiu Bai had a good temper; knowing that she couldn’t impose her ideas on others, she just waved her hand powerlessly when Sheng Ning apologized, indicating she didn’t mind.

Compared to Yilan’s passion for art, Sheng Ning fell short. Maybe only their Liu family could produce artistic madmen; she shouldn’t be disappointed.

“Teacher Qiu Bai, even if I take a leave, I’ll keep exercising every day and definitely won’t slack off. Also, you can call me for any performance tasks, and I’ll be there on call.” Sheng Ning looked expectantly at Qiu Bai.

“Cough cough…” Wenyin couldn’t help but speak up for her, “Sheng Ning, about the performance, I was just about to talk to you. Since the performance schedule is heavy in the first half of the year, even if you’re on leave, there are still some occasions where participation is necessary. Besides, we’re preparing to select two stand-ins for the lead dancer in Hope Field, to replace you in case you’re unavailable or not in top form.”
