She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 643: Chapter 668: Yang Wenying Suspended from Duty

”The Union Flower is even more beautiful than the rumors made it out to be.”

”The temperament seems good, too. I really don’t understand what those people who spoke ill of her before were thinking.”

”Exactly, some of it is simply completely out of touch with reality.”

”That’s why rumors are not to be trusted. We all should stop spreading them. After all, what happened with Hai Lan has nothing to do with our instruments department.” Ji Xiaoling felt rather embarrassed comparing the past rumors about Sheng Ning with the current ones about Yang Wenyin.

Yang Wenyin’s self-criticism and report were delivered to Shen Feihu’s desk early in the morning, and after he read them following the morning meeting, he burst into a scornful laugh.

He actually hadn’t known that she had so much backbone.

”President, how shall we deal with this now?” The man who had just taken over Su Hai’s position was over fifty years old, a man who had toiled away most of his life in the Inspection Department, always overshadowed by Su Hai who was twenty years his junior. He harbored constant dissatisfaction, feeling that Su Hai was too reckless and didn’t even abide by the rules of the Inspection Department.

Now that Su Hai was gone, he suddenly felt pressure from all sides. Even his back bent slightly as he realized just how untenable the position of president of the Inspection Department was.

And here he was, seeking advice from Shen Feihu at the first sign of trouble.

”You need to ask me about such a trivial matter?” Shen Feihu snapped angrily and slammed his hand on the table, ”If you can’t do the job, tell the organizational department early and don’t hinder my important work.” The people in the Inspection Department had become incredibly idiotic one by one without Su Huili’s smooth handling.

”I’m sorry, President. It’s just that the external pressure this time is too great, and I can’t withstand it.”

”Forget about it!” Shen Feihu waved his hand dismissively, not intending to argue any further. Indeed the situation had escalated, and now Yang Wenyin was stubbornly refusing to bow her head; it was unlikely that a common person could handle it well.

Even him, he needed to be cautious.

”Hai Shuangjie is making a big fuss. Just suspend Yang Wenyin to go through the motions, and with time, this will blow over.”

”Thank you, President!”

The head of the Inspection Department had been careful not to offend either side to begin with, and now with the president having spoken, it could only spell bad luck for Yang Wenyin.

In the afternoon, the news of Yang Wenyin’s suspension spread everywhere; everyone who should and should not know, knew about it.

Hai Lan was lying in her hospital bed happily eating a frozen pear while Zhou Yuan peeled it for her, delivering this surprising news.

”Your father acted very decisively this time. Even if Shen Feihu wanted to favor Yang Wenyin, he couldn’t. Now, no one can help Yang Wenyin, even if she were to lower her head and admit her wrongs to your face, we still wouldn’t forgive her.” Her precious daughter’s future was destroyed, and the fire in her mother’s heart had been raging, resulting in another big argument with her husband the night before.

Her husband had met with those individuals in the morning, and she was perfectly clear in her mind, just waiting for the General Union’s punishment of Yang Wenyin.

She hadn’t expected the punishment to be so lenient. Did they really think the Hai Family was some background-less countryside family?

”Mom, just a suspension, it probably won’t be long before the punishment is lifted.” Hai Lan took small bites of the frozen pear, the light of scheming twinkling in her eyes, ”Look at the last time, when Living Yama committed murder in the downtown area; he was also suspended. How much time has passed? I heard he not only returned to duty but also gained favor from the higher-ups and was sent on a mission.”

”Pah! Can she, Yang Wenyin, even compare to Living Yama?” Zhou Yuan said disdainfully, knowing more than the average person, even though she was not part of the system.

”Why not compare? Yang Wenyin has been the head of the department for so many years, and I’ve heard she has a considerable background too.” Hai Lan had always looked down on Living Yama who came from the countryside.
