She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 613: Chapter 638: Vacation Ends

General Union Dance Troupe, in Yang Wenying’s office, Qiu Bai entered, carrying a thick stack of performance plans. Upon entering the office and not seeing anyone, she turned to find Yang Wenying standing by the window, lost in thought.

”When did you also learn the ways of the literati, gazing out the window lost in thought?” Qiu Bai asked, looking at her tenderly.

Yang Wenying turned around, a trace of worry between her brows, but she quickly composed herself and noticed that Qiu Bai was in a good mood today. ”What good news has made you so happy?”

”It really is good news.” Qiu Bai placed the performance plans on the desk and poured herself a glass of water, drinking it slowly before speaking, ”It’s about Yilan. Ever since she saw the script for Phoenix, she has completely changed. Maybe it’s because of all she has experienced, or maybe her mindset has shifted, but her piano skills have reached a new level. I fear no one in my family can match her now.”

For a noble family, nothing is more important than fostering a more exceptional heir. Yilan’s face was ruined, but her dreams about music weren’t. Even I have to admit defeat to her now.

”Our Liu family hasn’t declined, and in the future, our family will surely produce another superstar, a global sensation in the music world.” Despite Qiu Bai’s gentle appearance, she was actually very ambitious, which is why she was still unmarried in her thirties. Nor would she have studied abroad in America alone. All her life, she had dedicated everything to the art she loved.

”Really? That’s wonderful, let’s have her come back soon!” Yang Wenying was overjoyed. Ever since Yilan left, nobody in the troupe could play the piano, and one specially recruited from the music academy was only half as good as Yilan.

If Yilan had improved even further, wouldn’t that be amazing?

”Let’s wait a bit longer! I’m not sure she’s ready to step back onto the stage yet,” Qiu Bai was not very enthusiastic about Yilan’s return, as the family’s opinion of Yilan had changed.

The whole family had placed their hopes on her, perhaps because Rebirth had written Phoenix so brilliantly that some even irrationally believed that Yilan could be like Phoenix in the future.

While it was dismissed as ludicrous by rational people, Yilan’s performance was also a strong reassurance. It was the most wonderful anticipation imaginable. If one person suggested it, others would follow through.

If Phoenix could do it, why couldn’t Yilan?

Thus, Qiu Bai’s heart was more or less affected, and the whole family was mobilizing connections. They were busy trying to send Yilan to Vienna, making her return to the General Union Dance Troupe seem less significant.

Yang Wenying sensed this and shrugged helplessly, ”I completely respect your decision, and if Yilan wants to come back briefly, she is welcome.”

”Thank you!” Qiu Bai smiled gratefully, recalling how Yang Wenying had just been standing by the window, frowning and saying, ”What are you worried about? Su Yun? She’s no threat to you anymore.”

At this year’s end’s various festivities, the Qianjin Dance Troupe could no longer monopolize the spotlight, something unthinkable in the past.

But they managed it, and they will do even better in the future.

”A document from the Inspection Department requests Sheng Ning to immediately end his leave and return to the General Union.”
