Supreme Sword God

Chapter 164: Chapter 163: Scheming in the Shadows, the Plot of Prince Yong!

After distributing the spoils of war.

The three continued to meditate and practice, keeping themselves in the best possible condition at all times.

Jiang Zheng glanced at Liu Meng’Er, then at Ye Chen, gritted his teeth, and silently thought to himself: ”Jiang Zheng, next time the Demon Race appears, you must kill a Primordial Wheel Realm one, you can’t be a burden, you can’t take advantage!”

Such a thing, where you gain without much effort... is torture for anyone with pride!

Time passed, and a day went by.

In the area where the three of them were, demons from the Demon Race appeared sporadically.

However, they were all scattered.

Moreover, every time they appeared, Ye Chen acted instantly and killed them in a second...

Liu Meng’Er would occasionally join the fight.

But Jiang Zheng... really didn’t have any chance to make a move!

Even so, Jiang Zheng received a piece of Tier Three Demon Bone and five pieces of Sea of Qi Realm Demon Bone from Ye Chen and Liu Meng’Er, totaling seven hundred points.

Adding the previous six hundred points.

By the end of the day, Jiang Zheng had accumulated thirteen hundred points.

But he... hadn’t done a thing!

He was embarrassed to accept the demon bones distributed by Liu Meng’Er, but Liu Meng’Er and Ye Chen insisted on giving them to him...

One night passed.

The sky was just beginning to brighten.

Ye Chen, who had been meditating with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them.

Liu Meng’Er quickly sent a spiritual message to Ye Chen: ”Junior brother, are there many of them? Are they strong?”

Ye Chen, a bit surprised, replied via spiritual power: ”Not many, probably three Sea of Qi Realm ones.”

Liu Meng’Er felt a mix of amusement and helplessness.

Every time a few demons from the Sea of Qi Realm showed up, her junior brother always got so excited, not giving her and Jiang Zheng a chance...

Liu Meng’Er didn’t mind.

She was worried that Jiang Zheng’s self-esteem couldn’t take it.

”Junior brother, leave it to Jiang Zheng. If this continues, I guess he’ll break down...”

Most people would be eager to gain points effortlessly while lying down.

But Jiang Zheng wasn’t like that; every time they tried to give him demon bones, it was as if they were asking for his life...

Ye Chen stopped sending spiritual messages and spoke directly, ”Senior sister, there are three demons of unknown strength. I’ve been fighting all day and I’m quite exhausted...”

”I’ll handle it!”

Jiang Zheng immediately stood up excitedly, holding a long knife, rushing forward, taking his position!

At this moment, he didn’t even think about the strength of the incoming demons; he only knew that he absolutely couldn’t be a parasite anymore!

”Whizz whizz whizz!”

Three figures from the Demon Race dashed out in the dim light.

Jiang Zheng let out a loud roar, charging forward, his long knife bursting forth with a dazzling white light, the massive blade beam suddenly slashing at one of the demons.

The power he had held back for an entire day finally found its purpose!

This was a slash for dignity!

Jiang Zheng’s strength, at the peak of the Sea of Qi Realm, was sufficient; even taking on a typically strong Primordial Wheel Realm demon wasn’t a problem. These three Sea of Qi Realm demons were naturally not difficult; in moments, he had cut the three demons into pieces, then returned to Ye Chen and Liu Meng’Er with three pieces of Sea of Qi Realm Demon Bone.

”Liu Meng’Er, Ye Chen, we’re a team, one piece of demon bone each!”

Even though they were just Sea of Qi Realm demon bones, Jiang Zheng was so excited that he wanted to cry after saying this. He wasn’t a parasite; he could contribute too!

Liu Meng’Er and Ye Chen, without any noticeable reaction, accepted the demon bones from Jiang Zheng’s hands.

Noon.

The team of three went through several small-scale battles again.

Ye Chen and Liu Meng’Er would symbolically leave some room for Jiang Zheng to make his move.

At this time.

The scorching sun shone brightly, filtering through the treetops, leaving dappled light spots on the ground.

The three of them casually grabbed something to eat.

Suddenly.

The clanging sound of armor colliding rang out.

A squad clad in Defense Army armor appeared in the sight of Ye Chen and the others.

This Defense Army squad also noticed Ye Chen and the others, then walked over. The squad leader stepped forward, cupped his hands, and said, ”Greetings Miss Liu, Young Master Ye.”

There weren’t many in the Star Spirit System. Liu Meng’Er would occasionally come to Demon Suppression Valley, and Ye Chen’s recent fame had been quite widespread, so being recognized was very normal.

As for Jiang Zheng... they didn’t recognize him.

Liu Meng’Er nodded slightly, saying nothing.

The squad leader continued, ”Miss Liu, Young Master Ye, since yesterday, a group of powerful demons have taken advantage of the chaos to break out from the core battlefield. We are ordered to patrol various areas and remind all those who have come to assist in the battle to be cautious.”

”Yes, understood. You’ve all worked hard,” Liu Meng’Er replied politely.

”This is our duty,” said the squad leader, then continued, ”Everyone, please be more cautious. I need to inspect other areas and notify others, so I’ll take my leave first.”

”Wait.”

Jiang Zheng hurriedly shouted, ”Are there any other Martial Arts Academy disciples nearby?”

The squad leader replied, ”Yes, there are several groups of Martial Arts Academy disciples nearby.”

Jiang Zheng nodded and said, ”I’ll go with you to other places.”

Ye Chen and Liu Meng’Er were somewhat surprised.

Jiang Zheng looked at the two and said, ”Liu Meng’Er, Ye Chen, I know my strength is far behind yours. Thank you for taking care of me, but I can’t stay with you any longer because I would only be a burden to you.”

This whole day.

Although Jiang Zheng had opportunities to make a move, they were all against low-level demons.

He knew that Ye Chen and Liu Meng’Er had purposely left those for him.

Jiang Zheng was grateful to Ye Chen and Liu Meng’Er.

But this is a battlefield.

He came to fight, to contribute to the human race, and to resist the Demon Race!

Moreover, the situation on the battlefield changes rapidly. For now, things are under control, but what if it spirals out of control? If Ye Chen and Liu Meng’Er can’t handle it, then staying with them wouldn’t help but instead become a real burden!

So, Jiang Zheng made this decision.

Ye Chen didn’t say much, only, ”Take care!”

Jiang Zheng nodded, grinned, and said, ”Though I’ve left the team, we’re still a squad!”

”Yes.” Liu Meng’Er nodded.

Then.

Jiang Zheng left with this group of Defense Army members.

Liu Meng’Er looked at Ye Chen and smiled, ”Junior Brother, if it weren’t for the promise I made with Senior Brother, I probably wouldn’t tolerate you... Every time there’s a battle, the battlefield becomes yours.”

Ye Chen knew his senior sister was joking, but he still kept a serious expression, ”Senior Sister, if any unexpected situations arise, don’t worry about me.”

Liu Meng’Er knew what Ye Chen meant.

The battlefield in Demon Suppression Valley is filled with danger for Ye Chen.

There’s Meng Changtian’s confidant.

There’s the Celestial Sword Sect.

And Prince Yong, Zhou Chengyun, who commands the Three Thousand Dragon Guards.

”Junior Brother, if anything happens, I’ll hold them off while you retreat,” Liu Meng’Er said solemnly.

......

At the same time.

In the main camp of the Three Thousand Dragon Guards in Demon Suppression Valley.

Prince Yong, Zhou Chengyun, clad in golden armor, sat in the tent as a general reported the confirmed location of Ye Chen from Cangxing Martial Arts Academy.

Zhou Chengyun sneered, ”Summon Feng Tianyou from Spirit Ruins Sect.”

Moments later.

A man and a woman entered Zhou Chengyun’s command tent.

The man, dressed in a long robe, appeared scholarly and refined.

The woman, in a long yellow dress, had a slim figure and a somewhat delicate face, but her slightly narrow eyes and expression of resentment gave her a very fierce demeanor.

The man was Feng Tianyou from the Spirit Ruins Sect.

The woman was Huang Qinglan from the Star Spirit System of Cangxing Martial Arts Academy.

Zhou Chengyun stood up to greet them, ”Brother Feng, Miss Huang, please have a seat.”

The three sat at the table in the command tent, and Zhou Chengyun spoke, ”Ye Chen has entered the Demon Suppression Valley battlefield, and his whereabouts have been found. What do you plan to do?”

Feng Tianyou from Spirit Ruins Sect said, ”I await Prince Yong’s orders.”

The resentment on Huang Qinglan’s face intensified, ”I want to kill him with my own hands!”

Her hatred for Ye Chen was deep-rooted!

This was no longer about the feud between the Huang Family and the Ye Family in Qingyun City.

Huang Qinglan, as an Earth Seal Spirit Master, should have been esteemed and respected, yet... because of Ye Chen, she lost her face and suffered multiple injuries. No matter how strong she became, these would be indelible humiliations, turning her into a laughingstock.

Zhou Chengyun chuckled, ”You are aware.

I brought the Prime Minister’s son, Yan Mingkuan, to Unparalleled County, but Ye Chen killed Yan Mingkuan right before my eyes.

Alas, for the greater good, this had to be suppressed for now.

But no matter what, I must provide the Prime Minister’s Mansion an explanation.

Furthermore.

My sixth brother has sent word from the Capital City, demanding that I must eliminate Ye Chen.

So, you and I now share a common goal.”

Feng Tianyou from the Spirit Ruins Sect immediately said, ”To serve Prince Yong and the Sixth Prince, I, Feng Tianyou, will spare no effort!”
